I registered a new service account on accident too. That webpage was misleading as all hell, and all I want is to play my character on my first service account, and not have to start over :/
I know this is a stupid question, but I just want to clarify things.
I am registered to service account 1. It says I get my CE bonues, but I have 4 days left on my free trial. My Service Account 2 shows inactive and no bonuses. For me to get the 30 days I need to say I meant to attach it to service account 2? Correct?
I SIGN for an immediate fix from SE.
So so so stupid site.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr..
No, I have 3 service accounts. Each beta code entered for instance created a new account. I entered for beta 3 and beta 4, so each beta gave me a new service account. My accidental adding of a "new service account" gave me a 3rd with the game on it, away from the character I leveled at Beta 4. So no, he could have not entered anything yet, and still have 2 service accounts.
The service accounts just don't make sense. Just give us the initial account page with the option of upgrading the Early Access to Full Account for example. Not a hassle like this webpage is showing
I played Phase 3 of beta. Then when phase 4 came out I created a character but never was able to play the game. I followed the instructions for EA registrations and never had to select a service account. So when I first played it said click an account when i logged in. The 1st one allowed me to, but not the second. Now my 1st service account shows my CE items, but 4 days left free trial, while my 2nd service account shows inactive, no character attached to it, no mention of the trial period, and no bonus items. I am so confused
I never posted here because I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. But what's happening now totally switches my view about the customer service and their way of handling account management.
Once FINAL FANTASY XIV is officially launched, players will need to use a registration code (for the Windows version of the game) or a product code (for the PlayStation® 3 version of the game) in order to obtain licenses for each respective platform. Please review the guidelines below in order to ensure that you successfully register your codes.
When registering an license, you will be able choose between registering it to an existing service account which you have previously played FINAL FANTASY XIV on, or registering it to a completely new service account.
We have received reports from players who, although they wished to continue playing the game post-launch with characters created either in the original FINAL FANTASY XIV or during the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn beta test, have mistakenly registered their licenses to either the wrong service account, or to a brand new service account.
In order to prevent this from happening to you, please keep the following in mind.
* If you wish to play with a character from either the original FINAL FANTASY XIV or the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn beta test:
- When going through the process to register your license, be sure to log in using the same login ID and password that you previously used when logging into the game to play with the character in question.
- Please do not select the “Create New Service Account” option
- If your account has only one FINAL FANTASY XIV service account, please select that option to continue.
- If your account is displaying multiple FINAL FANTASY XIV service accounts, please review the licenses already attached to each of these service accounts before selecting the service account you wish to register the license in question to.
* Regarding the display of licenses attached to service accounts -Upon selecting a service account, the currently registered licenses on it will be displayed. For your reference, the names and descriptions of each license are written below:
[Windows® Version]
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn – Windows® = This will be displayed if you previously played the original FINAL FANTASY XIV. You will be entitled to play the Windows® version of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - Pre-order Code - Windows® = This will be displayed if a Windows® pre-order code has been registered to this service account.
FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Test – Windows® = This will be displayed if you previously participated in the beta test.
[PlayStation® 3 Version]
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - Pre-order Code – PlayStation® 3 = This will be displayed if a PS3 pre-order code has been registered to this service account.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test – PlayStation® 3 = This will be displayed if you previously participated in the beta test on PlayStation® 3.
* If you logged in during the Early Access period, the names and worlds of any characters in the Service Account will also be displayed.
* Licenses exist for both the Windows® and PlayStation® 3 versions of the game, and in order to play on both platforms, a service account will need both kinds of Licenses.
I like how they don't talk about fixing the problem of accidentally registering to the wrong service account. Just how to avoid it
Yeah i saw that, they dont say at all how we can fix it. Stupid.
In the same boat, just waiting to hear some news about this.
"* If you wish to play with a character from either the original FINAL FANTASY XIV or the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn beta test:
- When going through the process to register your license, be sure to log in using the same login ID and password that you previously used when logging into the game to play with the character in question.
- Please do not select the “Create New Service Account” option
- If your account has only one FINAL FANTASY XIV service account, please select that option to continue."
I only had 1 account before signing up, those instructions are FALSE and WRONG.
They should just say "Hey. All of you that were in EA, guess what. You will automatically get 30 day free trial."
It shouldn't be that hard to tell who was registered before the official release, and then make the adjustments
Not all of us who preordered were in EA. My boyfriend had a 1.0 account, and I was interested in playing, he used my preorder code for himself, I have been sitting here waiting for my code to play my character, now that I mistakenly made a new service account, can't even play my character :(
i hope they can fix this asap before our 3 remaining days from our pre-order service ends =(
I am sorry to hear that.
What I was trying to say is that everyone who was on before tomorrow should get their timers reset to 30 days. When you register your 30 days will starts after official release.
They should also merge all who want it service accounts together to fix things
I checked the Mog Station now. And it is saying that I have no characters in both my service accounts now. Are they fixing something now?
I was thinking the exact same thing, at least until they fix everyone's problem... I mean what can they possibly lose from doing this? nobody gets any extra playtime than what was originally promised (although I dare say we are beginning to deserve extra playtime if they don't stick their fingers out and fix it.)
Gosh I have the same problem. Seriously the way they setup the page is confusing and misleading. When you login you will see your early access/beta account with only an add platform button. Most of us won't click that because we want to add a code not a platform, but well apparently we are suppose to click that. It'll bring you to a page to enter the code, or if you click on account service button on top you will get another page that shows your service account with 2 new button add PS3 service and add Windows service. So why can't they just show that two big button for add PS3 service and add Windows service right when you login, would have makes things easier. Or rather just put a button that said enter registration code or something.
Even their post about it that was posted above doesn't really tells you what to do.
I was wondering. Maybe this was already answered. What would happen if I add a platform to my service account 1 that shows 4 days left on my free trial??
OH, and it is showing no characters on my mog service page as well. For my service account 1 and 2. Lets see where this goes
I hate this silence, now both of my service accounts dont have characters, are they fixing something? Come on, how is posible that one of the biggest companies in the biggest entertaiment industry can`t just have one guy telling people whats going on in the forum.
Besides, in all its awfulness, how i can view my "ticket historial" on the support page... I mean... There is a "ticket historial" like in every normal game right?
No characters showing for me as well now
So anyone figure out how to actually do this correctly yet?
