Thanks for the thread!
Ditto!
I live in the American South, and I have to be very careful at work and other places to do the "gender dance," to not be specific about "my sweetie's" gender. I play FFXIV to get away from the stresses of everyday life, and I would rather not have to play the same verbal games, or face chastizement about my girlfriend... I get enough crap just for being a female gamer, y'know?
I have, and am glad the FC is there. So far, they haven't given me a hard time about working third shift, and being unavailable during prime raiding hours. 8)
Hey sorry I don't actually have a website yet. But this is a link to my company in the lodestone!

Thanks in advance.
why are you discussing your sexual orientation, sexual preferences or anything having to do with SEX in game? it's pretty much against the terms of service and code of conduct for a game not rated M.
politics aside, nobody has any business talking about sex IN ANY FORM in this game. doesn't matter if you are in an LGBT guild or not. this is not a hookup game. it's not a forum to talk about your sexual escapades from the weekend.
sex should not be a part of your in game conversation at all. ever. therefore - logically - your SEXUAL orientation or preference should have no bearing.
this includes any and all talk about sexual subjects - including homophobic speech.
And threads about /pray for Lalafells and other idiotic things should be allowed? people like you disgust me.
There is no rule against threads like this. stfu and leave it alone.
Let me also mention that marriage is a thing that will be implemented in this game so controversy is bound regardless.
And this is cause why? Edit: Meh, Doesn't get anywhere I suppose within general discussion, oddly enough. I'll just leave it with my afterthought for maybe a solution to making everyone happy?Quote:
like putting a bullseye above their head
way to put a bullseye above your head
Afterthought Edit: Maybe if SE designated a LS/FC communities section within the server listings (before going into each individual server), this thread could go there? Just seems off being here.
You know, it's not necessarily about sex. I'm a girl-type person, who falls in love with other girl-type persons. And, being a human, social animal, I sometimes talk about things that I've done. Let me give you an example:
Me: "My girlfriend and I went to see the new Iron Man movie this weekend, and...."
Cow-Orker: "Why do you gays always have to be throwing your business in everyone's face?!"
Um... Always have your facts straight before making yourself look like a dunce. The ESRB gave this game a T rating for Language, mild blood, sexual themes, use of alcohol, and violence. This can all be discovered on the ESRB website if you decided to look... They also provide a detailed summary on why they gave it a T rating that hints on suggesting M rated material.
ALSO, and this is the kicker, Online interaction was NOT RATED by the ESRB which means those who intend to play the game online may have possible exposure to chat (text or audio) or other types of user-generated content that have not or cant be considered in the ESRB rating assignment.
Hello and good-bye *giggles*
Cobra Kai Dojo on Hyperion is definitely LGBT friendly. We have several of us in the ls, and have been for years and several games, and have NEVER had an issue.
Please don't respond to gross people in the thread. I know it feels like you're just swallowing their bigotry, but please just blacklist them, and if they are using abusive language or obviously trying to start a fight, you can report their posts.
If you respond to them, you are risking that they argue back and the thread ends up locked. Also, by responding to them, you keep their bigotry visible to those of us who blacklisted them so they didn't have to see that anymore every time they come here.
Thank you.
Back to the topic: I just wanted to add that since yesterday, "Gamut" is now also a Free Company :). I know the listing itself actually makes no difference between LS and FC, but I thought some interested applicants might like to know.
A website isn't necessary, however you can provide your linkshell's lodestone page. That way people will have a much easier time figuring out who to contact.
Thanks for providing such detailed information! I've added you to the first section.
Thanks, I've now added you to the first section.
Good to hear! Please provide a link of some sort (a website, recruitment thread, lodestone page, etc.) and I'll be able to add you to the list.
Certainly! Here you go : http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...62598695800102
Kinda does make me want to make a website now lol so people can have a little information on it...but until then that lodestone link is the best way to contact me... Or in game :-)
Theres a FB page for LGBT FFXIV players too, its been inactive but its showing signs of coming back to life, feel free to join it.

Hey Mhaeric, can you update Hexen's information for Leviathan, our website has changed to just HexenGuild.com. Thanks!
A great resource for a community that needs great resources!
If all this thread is for is to find like minded people to group with, then changing people's minds shouldn't matter. That's the problem here, people are allowed to disagree regardless of what you believe.
The more you argue the opposite, the more strongly the reaction. If you truly believe in your cause then drop the argument and be on your way, it shouldn't matter what others think. Trying to brow beat people into agreeing won't change shit.
Not sure if this is still being updated so I'm just going to copy/paste my information from my server's forum, but here it goes... Take what you need from below! ^^
Free Company: Comrades
Server: Balmung
Type of FC/LS: PvE, Social

Number of Active Member: 4~10
Website: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...9148295113750/
Description: Comrades is meant to be a safehaven for people interested in games, but not the attitude that comes with most communities. Members are expected to be polite, helpful and respectful toward other players, both inside and outside of the Free Company/Linkshell. We're LGBT and SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder) friendly, we have a zero tolerance policy toward Griefing of any kind.
Hi Mhaeric. You can mark Phoenix Down on Hyperion again as recruiting. ^.^
Due to the recent server conundrum, I have been forced to play on Shiva. I wish there was an LGBT/LGBT friendly guild on the server, but I guess that just gives me more incentive to move to another server once they allow transfers.
Sorry for double post, but I can't resist saying this: (I mean this with the highest affection) Balmung seems to be the gayest server according to this list. Lmbo. :-)
Updated!
They do have a chapter in FFXIV, and I do remember there being brief mention of it on their website. For example, scrolling down in the news feed shows some of their FFXIV activity. I have verified that they still exist in game via the lodestone, so I'll keep it as is for now. If I can ask those who belong to the group to let me know if there's a better link to include that isn't so confusing to prospective FFXIV players?
Thank you so much for doing this! It's so incredible to see such supportive and open-minded people and communities in the MMO world.
Free Company: Choco Beaus
Server: Adamantoise
Type of FC/LS: PvE, Social
Leader(s) and Contacts: Duca Poo
Number of Active Member: 6ish
Description: LGBT Friendly (90% of us are gay) FC started by a group of friends in Southern California. Looking to recruit some fun people.
Many people fail to understand the concept of this apparently. It's not being paranoid or about any agenda. We don't jump into a linkshell and say "Hey my name is so and so and I'm gay". But there are regular conversations when things come up. Like being asked if you are married, have a gf/bf etc. And lets face it if you play with people enough these things will come into play eventually.
Add to the fact that for some hearing that everything negative is gay or people calling each other more vile names constantly isn't a big deal. For others it starts to wear you down after a while. And you get tired of hearing it. So in a group that sets itself up for non discriminatory practices these things do not happen. And if they do the offender is spoken to or removed from the group. This doesn't only apply for sexual orientation. But race, gender and so on.
I am Master of two LinkShell on Gilgimesh.
Both my Linkshells are LGBT Friendly as I am part of the LGBT Community.
Prejudice will not be tolerated in either LinkShell.
