i don't have much experience healing, I'll probably get a feel of the first two dungeons as a conjurer first before i become a full time healer as an Scholar. Plus i play on the ps3.

looking at the skills of the Scholar, I say it will be a lot of fun healing with all that utility and choices with the Aetherflow.
Gonna be good to heal with a WHM friend in 8man and 24man!
I plan on leveling both, but main scholar. I love shield healing, and a healing pet? Yes please :) WHM will be awesome too I'm sure, and I want my unicorn too.
I agree with you Sodamachine. I enjoy this aspect of healing with what the pet will be able to do + the stoneskin like added in to the cures, I cure one guy while pet tosses it to another. Multiple things at once. Though while playing SCH I think there will be more need for control over the pet rather than letting it go at it's own pace..but we will see with the way it acts.
Already have maxed WHM so will be trying out CH and I have a feeling I will like it
I already had CNJ at 18 and leveld up THM to 17 during the Open Beta. So once I can get my ACN up to 30, I going to be unlocking both Scholar and Summoner.
At this stage I'll just be using both depending on the needs of the group. I'm eager to see just how much we can freely change between Jobs without penalty via gear or stats and such.
scholar here. 0/
I'm going to explore the various healing/support roles, so I'm definitely trying it.
The Arcanist class feels like the strongest caster I've played. I'm excited to try the scholar and I hope I like it enough to main it.
Scholar all the way! I'll need to double back to get White Mage though for the unicorn mount. I just really need to be riding a unicorn and have a fairy friend simultaneously.
Starting with ARC first, but definitely going SCH for heals!
Future scholar here! I am looking forward to playing a new healing style.
Checking in, loving this class!
See you all in two days!
I'm going to main either WHM or SCH... not sure which one will go first but as a 1.0 character, I already have CNJ 32 and from the P4 I got my ACN to 18. I'm still debating which one I'll level first because if WHM pre-requisite is still GLD I think I'll plainly go as a SCH.
2 days left until I know which class I will become for sure!
I'm going straight for Scholar for EA. I really enjoyed healing on CNJ during P3/4. Managed to get ACN and CNJ to 20 during P4.
I'm looking forward to the complexity of healing with a pet class, but still a little worried about how we'll stack up against WHM for the end game when only one healer is required. Succor 2 and the pet regen spell are our only 2 aoe heals, and both are less effective than any of the 3 aoes WHM get. So while we bring a lot of utilities to the group, our aoe healing is a bit behind WHM. It also depends on how good our pet is so we can heal multiple targets.
I'm also loving the Scholar style so far.

Count me in as a Scholar main! I love healing and it looks like an interesting combination of skills and abilities.
Unfortunately, I'm going to level Conjurer to 30 first, because I want to heal all the group content at the appropriate level. Once I hit 30 and have healed everything up till that point, I'll double back and finish leveling Arcanist to 30 for Scholar and then continue the rest of the way to 50. It might be convoluted, but I don't want to pass up healing the earlier content while it is current (aka everyone is still learning it) and the faster queue times certainly don't hurt. :)
Certainly going Scholar main here! I've always enjoyed the healing role in general, but this sounds like a fun new twist. It'll be interesting to see how the Scholar's heals over time compare to and compliment the White Mage's direct heals. Decided to start out as a Conjurer, but starting to level the Arcanist this Saturday.
I'm still split between white mage and scholar
I'm really excite to play Scholar! (´・ω・`)ノ
Ranged DPS is usually my thing, but lately I have been wanting to try out the healer role. So I will be working on both WHM and SCH and I am so excited!
Initially thought of rolling lancer as main, but my fc needed a scholar instead. Hence im delighted to play scholar as main :D
Not sure about maining it but i do want to try it out and see if i like it more than WHM.If i do then yes i would switch mains.
*raises hand* Here! I already love my arcanist and I'll definitely go for scholar as my main. It's just awesome! :3
I :)
Scholars seems extremely fun, I've always been a pure healer/support, but it'll be nice to have a pet while healing... it's an interesting take on it :) I'm excited.
Scholar seems a lot of fun.
I'm very curious how the healing will work out.
It feels like it might be a challenge because you can manually control your pet and your own char at the same time.
I tend to be a healing addict. This will be my first FF MMO foray. Going to put some work into arcanist so I can try out SCH someday, but first I'll get used to leveling WHM and how to heal in FF XIV. Good luck to all you fellow heal freaks.
Scholar checking in!!!
If someone have any problem please tell me. I will go to support you!!!
I like the class a lot, I can't wait to see what I can do with it!
I main WHM but I will be bouncing back and forth between SCH
Born to be a Healer :)
I'm very excited about playing SCH as my main. I played FFXI for years and when SCH was released it quickly became my favorite job. What's even better is that FFXIV's iteration of the job seems to fit the role that I want to play exactly. Now I'm just hoping that CNJ is in fact the subclass as I went ahead and took that to 15 during P4 after getting ACN to 20. Looking forward to tomorrow!
I too main WHM and plan to main SCH, but I hope WHM and SCH are situational in use. I am uncertain of boss fights but for Garuda and Ifrit who use alot of AoE damage spells where the shields and AoE healing would be more useful. To a boss that lays heavy on single target, where WHM might be more useful.
Can't wait to play a scholar, hopefully they allow us to switch to healer role in dungeon finder. Also going to do WHM as a backup. But the pet play and shields seems really fun for a different play at healing.
Scholar FTW! (is also gonna play summoner once scholar is maxed out)
Another FFXI Scholar reporting in! XIV's version seems to be a bit different, but the AoE support spells seem to be there, so I'll be all over SCH in this game too. ^^
I used to be a WHM in FFXI before SCH came out, and nowadays I just like to play support healer roles more than being a main tank healer. I'm mostly looking forward to the bigger endgame events (12-24 player raids), because those sound like fun from the support PoV. Used to love doing Dynamis on SCH (and BRD).
So far I really loved playing Arcanist in the open beta! Figuring out how to control Carby and positioning him into optimal places on the battlefield is more fun than I thought at first.
Future scholar reporting in! Can't wait to get my fairy!!
I'm pretty excited to play Scholar. Just have to get through leveling to 30 as a DPS :( Hate it!
I suppose it will be worth it in the end!
Scholar will be an excellent asset in raiding and great pair with WHM.
Yeah i feel the same way.It sucks that we have to go through leveling as DPS.
Unless I just absolutely hate the Job at 50, I'm playing main Scholar. Just something a little different from the normal healing (WHM).
