Eastern dragons for summoning,
preferably on fire and take shit out instantly
Western dragons for having epic boss fights and QTEs.

they found dragon fossil in china
It's hard to find credible sources to confirm that, it sounds more like it's a hoax involving some real fossils of a creature that only bears a resemblance to what could be identified as a "dragon". That photo, itself, sounds like it was stolen from an Animal Planet speculative series on how dragons might have lived if they had been real.
He was no bahamut though :P think that one dead in northrend would be more like bahamut forgot his name or the zone :P
since im on the subject...SE please keep the dragons sizes consistent, watching deathwing grown and shrink in cataclysm was kinda annoying lol he should a just been the size he was in the cinematic :P
prefer western styles for an FF title, but i wouldn't mind some creative ones like in chrono cross :P
If I remember right, Eastern dragons were considered lucky, wheras western dragons represented greed and avarice, as for my own preference:

Stopping by just to express my disappointment that no one in this thread has mentioned Draco...... So very disappoint.

I usually prefer western dragons. Eastern are alright, they just tend to be more subtle (bodies, not personality). I like obnoxious.
In my mind dragons are the apex predator of any Fantasy world, bringing fear and death from the sky and that's why Western style dragons are so popular for Game bosses, main antagonist and the driving force behind main quests stretched across a wide variety of amazing fantasy stories. This fear carries over into real life as well in war planes (Death from the Sky) that is why I think Dragons still work. Watch the skies!
They should make and RPG where you play a western/eastern dragon, then roam around killing/skilling/growing into a mean brute of a monster Dragon!
Rawr! ^^f(>.>)f^^
i mean, technically deathwing messes up a pretty large percentage of azeroth. so it's really not a case of him "failing" to destroy the world and bahamut "succeeding"- especially since bahamut clearly doesn't succeed. there are survivors in 2.0 who weren't even saved by our lovely time paradox. we're also not really sure just how much devastation bahamut did, as we only get to see it on a fairly small scale.
the only thing we can really objectively compare is how long it took deathwing to destroy as much as he did vs. how long it took bahamut to do his damage. in that sense we can probably say bahamut did quite a lot more damage in a much shorter timeframe. but in the end both dragons failed to ultimately destroy their respective worlds.
jussayin'!
