Oh gosh, back when I first got it I only paid $20 D:
...but then I do know of ways you can get it for $0 e_e.

Pretty blatant theft of this illustrator's work from a year ago:

I shouldn't say this, so gonna spoiler it.
Run a search on line for easy paint tool sai english version download. You'll probably find it on piratebay already cracked. Enjoy your free SAI lol~
@Vale I was hoping I was wrong but the whole signature thing just didn't add up. . . It's just so sad that people have to try and profit off others' hard work -_-
I vowed to not wait until the last minute to submit a contest entry during the Gear Design contest, but I did it again. lol.
Here's my entry! I made my chocobo with partial Serpent barding out of 24-gauge galvanized steel wire. :o
Great work to all those that entered !! hey that includes the JP and EU too! :D
I really enjoy seeing all the passion for some flaky birds <3
Can't wait until the 10th and to see the winners.
That really hurts to see. Not only is plagerism absolutely disgraceful, but as someone who has put in many hours on my own submission it really sucks to see that people are willing to just half ass even a signiture and slap it on here.
Cheating for post cards, hit a new low there buddy....
edit* atleast forum reps were on point deleting that post. Feel a little better now but still disgusted.
Have they announced the winners yet
I know I haven't won, but it'd still be nice to see who did♪
Maybe they forgot :(
I'm surprised they haven't announce the top 10 yet. :P
SELECTION
- Winners will be selected by the FFXIV Development and Operations Team based on creativity.
- Winners will be announced on or about March 10, 2013 on the official FFXIV Forum page and on the Lodestone. The winners will be contacted by a support agent who will confirm their character information for prize delivery.
Japanese chocobo looks super nice, maybe it's in japanese forum already?
/ . \ there are not much official posts at lodestone... they are forgetting lots things, like the 1.5 hour live letter V english translation. they looked having lots fun when talking about housing, but I have no idea what are they talking about.
/betafever
/bear grab + shake Rahsch!
They sure are taking their time. They're probably having a dilemma because mine is so great, that it takes all the other 9 spots.
I dunno about that, thats alot of time to do background checking. not saying I'm not down for legit competition but still its alot of time
Looks like I'm not the only one wondering if they've announced winners yet. Wondered if I had just missed where it was posted or something. Carry on then. ^^
The only logical explanation for them taking so long is that they're all dead..
THEY'RE ALL DEAD!!
Greetings, adventurers!
We apologize for the delay but please head over to the events forums now, where the ruling Chocobos have been announced.
Thank you to all participants for their lovely Chocobos and congratulations to the winners !
This contest was fixed!! How could my award winning drawing not even place in the top 10!?
Yayyy! Im going to frame the postcards and hang them up in our new house ^__^ Congrats all!
Edit:- (Now SE, will you employ us? tehehehehehe....)
So cool! I really like all of the entries!
I also didn't know they had a separate lodestone for other regions. But such admirable art! Good job top 10!
Some really nice entries there, grats to the winners~!
It would be nice if SE allowed you to enter things not just 'made specifically for this contest' as long as you were the one who made it then you should be able to enter it right?

Looks you were tied for #11. XD
Congrats to the winners ^ ^
Such awesome work there! You guys definitely deserve more than just postcards:eek:
I'm just saying I am happy for the people that won but the rule of original work made for this contest is kinda of a weird rule especially when they have no way of know when it was made unless I didnt post that chocobo sculpture last year...lol I'm just saying Congratulations to the winners, but that is a weird rule that specifically kicks us out of the running
Congrats to the winners; seeing such quality work has inspired me to give it my all to develop my skills so that I'm ready for the next competition! See you then!
Taken from the Rules;
Whatever you submit to them essentially becomes their property, this is why they ask you to create a new piece. If the chocobo had been made strictly for the competition she wouldn't be able to post it anywhere or profit from it in any way so... which is worse? 10 postcards or the freedom for her to sell that model and get a bit of recognition for her artwork? I know which I'd prefer! ;)Quote:
4. SQUARE ENIX OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES
All entries and other materials (the "Entry Materials") (including all copyright, trademark, and other proprietary rights associated therewith) submitted by you become the property of Square Enix upon submission, and Entry Materials will not be returned to any contestant. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you acknowledge that Square Enix will own all rights to use, modify, and make derivative works of the Entry Materials, without separate compensation to you or any other person or entity. You agree to take, at Square Enix's expense, any further action (including, without limitation, execution of affidavits and other documents) reasonably requested by Square Enix to effect, perfect, or confirm Square Enix's ownership rights as set forth above in this paragraph. Entry Materials may be used by contestants only for purposes of the Contest or for private, personal, non-public viewing. Entry materials received by Square Enix may be destroyed by Square Enix at any time following the Contest.
Also I know your proud of your lass's work, but acting like it should have won seems a little... arrogant? I can't put this in a way that doesn't sound harsh, totally not my intention (I'm sorry!), especially since there were other models submitted that were pretty awesome quality. On the plus side, I think her choco model posted on the first page of entries got the most likes, so it's not all bad.
Thanks for posting that rules quote ^^
I guess it just seems sad that you can not post something you did, then enter it in a fitting contest later.
I did not enter this contest, but if I did... I would still post my entry up publicly ... in fact I saw many of those entries posted up before hand in public areas (pixiv, DA, livestream, even these forums in signatures etc) so where do they draw the line?
Theoretically I could make a moogle cake, never post the pictures, then enter it in a moogle themed contest 6 months away. SE can not own the cake... it was devoured long ago, sure they can own rights to the picture, but even in the case of physical winning entries they can all now sell/eat/throw out/post on websites all they want.
Am I missing something here? ^^;;;
Heh, They only own the rights to the photo's, which is not the actual piece itself. So any one could still do what they want with the actual creation, its just what is submitted to the competition that they own the rights to. I mean, one winner posted a picture of their child, SE couldn't claim the rights to someones child now... or could they!? Lol, the piece itself remains the property of the creator. Either way its essentially illegal to make profit on something which has been copied from a copyrighted source. That's what i'm aware of! But people still make things based on CR material and sell it. The companies don't seem too bothered by it. But i do see your point in that creating a work specifically for a contest is strange, but at the same time it forces one to make new things. Also, if a single piece had been used in another way previously. SE would risk getting their heads chopped off say, if a piece was submitted to another contest, which had the same rules.
As for finding out if it was made for the contest, they could easily do a google photo search. Google would provide sites that host the image prior to the contest start date.
