...why is FFXIII the first thing on your list of games to finish? Xenogears should be the first thing.
Unless, you are using it to get the bad taste out of your mouth after playing XIII, then that will be an acceptable answer.

im so booorred :(
Any info yet about tomorrow? >_>a
Workin' on DRG relic in ff11, and giving yarn to mithras I walk by :3
I know, right? I mean, if people didn't tell you to hate the game, you'd have paid for it. Oh wait, you did. Well, now that people are telling you how much it sucks and to hate it, you have definately learned your lesson and you're no longer playing it... right? RIGHT!?
Wait, you are still playing it!? DAFUQ!?
Don't you know that when people on the internetz tell you something sucks it means that it quite obviously sucks because what you hear on the internetz is true which means that ure playing a sucky game which u won't enjoy which means that u don't like games that R good which means U don't liek having fun with fun games which means that ure stoopid which means that nobodee lieks u which means that ull grow old and 4ever alone and die in a houce full of catz and bad gamez and ull be lonely and when u die ull go to hell becuz u liek FF13 and god sez that game sucks so u cant get in heaven becuz they dont liek stoopid games in heaven and then ull go to hell and the devil wont let u in becuz he doesnt liek bad games eether so nao ure a ghost with nowhere to go except back to the house u died in and ull play sucky games there and haunt the house 4ever alone.
That's what I heard.
I have problems with games that penalize you for trying to fight smart. It's battle system is too simplistic, hit x, doing anything else is too slow.
Comparing Xenogears to FFXIII:
It's Open world and open areas vs no open world and linear maps.
Full control over all characters with a decent battle system vs no control over allies and spamming X.
Expansive storyline ranging from all different kinds of character backstory, religions and psychology vs linear track story with only 3 characters worth knowing.
I'm going by my opinion with facts that FFXIII pales in comparison to xenpgears, and should be play first. It's a better use of your time.
I don't mean to be offensive it's your choice. I am more aiming for this "You know how you told me to play Xenogears first, I am glad you did" kind of thing.
to get this out of the way first, this is not about petty things like "which game is better"
you know its possible to recommend a game without shitting all over another one, crazy right?
I mean you did really well in parroting those memorized "FFXIII facts" like "its only a corridor the whole game" and "mash x to beat everything" (first time i heard that ones *rolleyes*) which is , and this is the important part, your OPINION, of course you are free to have one, as misinformed and biased as it might be,
but don't be that guy that constantly shits on a game which might not be your cup of tea and rub it in the peoples faces that happen to enjoy it, that is called "being a dick about it"
i am not writing this to attack you, to be honest i really don't give a damn if you like something or not, but i am sick and tired to read the exact same hateful bullshit every time FFXIII is as much as mentioned somewhere online where you have the ability to post a comment under it.
but enough thread derailing, i don't want to spend that 40 days arguing here
but enough thread derailing, i don't want to spend that 40 days arguing here[/QUOTE]
LOL.... and nights.
13 kept me busy for a while,, same with 13x2 and the other ffs but always ended up back with 11 until 14 came out of corse
It is my opinion, but it is fact that from chapters 1-11, the only thing you can do is go where the map it tells you, which is most of the time moving foward.
When you get to chapter 12 and fight the giant turtle elephants, if you try to fight it your own way, you will die. The game forces you to spam x on auto-fight.
I atleast gave the game a shot all the way up to where everyone who has ever played the game says it gets good at chapter 12. It didn't, it was the same thing.
I am not that guy that didn't play and just listened to what everyone else said. I bought it and played it.
so you are that guy that played it, didn't like it and now its his noble mission to yell from the roofs that it is a total failure of a game whenever there is an opportunity for it? not really a better guy if you ask me
also (yeah i know i am wasting my breath here*sigh*):
the "moving from a to b" was completely reasonable for that part of the game story wise because you were FLEEING the whole time, you don't fart around in a shopping district when the military of an entire nation/artificial moon wants your head, could it have been handled a bit better? sure but at least it makes sense
that spamming auto attack argument is just bullshit, you have to build fitting paradigms and switch them on the fly over and over to survive any harder battle and yes switching paradigms is the main way to control your party in this game if you didn't notice
the adamantoises aren't meant to be beaten by a party that isn't maxed out if you don't "abuse" vanilles death ability, there are plenty of optional bosses that need a good setup, equipment, planning and skill to beat.
I just played through Skyrim THREE times. (Hearthfire, Dawnguard, Dragonborn). Trying to get the last two accomplishments but the game is so buggy that I don't think I will be able to get the last two. Think I'll play some Morrowind. (Played FFXIII-1 and 2 recently).
Yumi, you know the fight with that military guy that kinda gave snow a chance to explain himself at Hope's house? Near the end of the game he's in that armor that is very suseptible to deprotect and deshell?
The AI kept spamming one move that did utterly nothing to him instead of what the Libra said to do. This happened on lots of fights showing the incompetemce of the AI. If you can't rely on the AI teammate, it shouldn't even be in-game.
The ochu fight? That specifically spam death until it works, not much else to do but pray the AI healed you while one sentieneled and, you spam death.
LOL. I like it. It takes a hard core gamer to try to beat the bugs. I may still have a way around this last bug... so I will probably play Skyrim (with the three addons) again! It takes me three days to become invincible... then it is just a matter of doing quests. The quests themselves are fascinating. I love the strategy. And I find new ways to do things every time I play through it.
4 days later and still loading BETA...

Just picked up Skyrim, proceeded to load it with stupid mods. I'm having a blast so far.
Stealthy thief Llen spots her target. Pulls out her bow, draws it tight... "pew...". Dead target.
Making Ultimate builds on skyrim
Dota2, dota2, dota2, dota2 onry.
Having a go for the first time at FF XI. Just been on for a couple of days, a lot to get used to but it might be fun. I'm on Ragnarok server, called Blancmange :)
Got Nvidia 3DVision mod for Dark Souls (PC).
Damn, if that game wasn't awesome enough in 2d...
oh we are nitpicking single encounters now?
i should say i stand corrected then right? i mean how could i not, that one time in some fight they didn't do exactly what you wanted, the game is clearly garbage then, fuck presentation, characters, story, soundtrack, overall lore ect.
you can blow the AI "problems" out of proportion as much as you want, i completed the game and beat every challenge it has to offer and not once was what you call "AI incompetence" even a remote problem or really noticeable in the end.
listen you don't have to go out of your way now and write a big spreadsheet about every bug or glitch or whatever you ever encountered, its ok if you don't like it, i really don't give a damn that you hate it
BUT don't get on other peoples nerves that like the game and are sick and tired of the constant feces tossing
Is it so damn hard not to go full apeshit with hate every time someone types FFXIII somewhere and not write an annoying knee-jerk reaction reply about how FFXIII killed your entire family?
I know that its not really nice of me to vent my frustration of this problem on the one guy that made the 104272th post exactly like this but even my patience runs dry at a point.
for me this discussion has run its course, this is the only point i wanted to get across:
don't like it? fine, don't try to ruin it for others.
oh and deathspam is always the cheap way out, you can beat every mob in the game with the right strategy and setup, yes even the ochu fight
sorry for derailing the thread some more, this was my last post for this topic ^~^;
Don't try PONG, it's hella boring.
I Have damn near every game out there and not one can make me happy enough to enjoy (T.T) Oh ARR where for thou art you~
I'm playing FFXI again (started over from scratch), and soon Ni no Kuni I expect.
I'd play FFXI again, but it's boring these days. Sign-in go to abyssea... Sign-in do voidwatch, rinse and repeat... All it seems to be anymore. Hopefully SoA will fix that. I highly doubt it though.
So, I'll be looking at my email, sleeping, eating, working, repeating...
Lol never let my FFXI subscription lapse so its always there and i noticed that noone plays Tera. its not bad
Lightening's revenge is coming soon... I guess we could play that...
Ive been struggling at soloing an empy since no one in xi cooperates anymore (30/50 glavoid shells and 16/50 chloris buds, all done with me and a mule, talk about tedious). But even outside that man has xi become a snoozefest so I dont really bother playing it too much. Not even going to bother buying Seekers of Adoulin since ARR beta will be up by then.
To fill my time Ive been playing GW2 but that will be dropped in a heartbeat for ARR.
Just bought Dark Souls on steam, where to find DSfix?
