people start crying about it already? god first they quit the game because it was bad and now they asking they get legacy? please, if you didnt stick around in the hard time of the game u dont get no privilege of getting thats all so stop crying about it and deal it with it was ur fault. they talk about legacy for a really long time that u could had gotten

For the folks who are complaining about not having a legacy status - There was at more than a years notice about this and the perks that it entailed per the original roadmap PDF document that was available for d/l on the lodestone site. So I will leave you with this:

This kind of entitlement is exactly what is wrong with this game's fanbase.

Wasting your time hunting for town gear like Darklight doesn't entitle you to anything, nor does my nearly capping all 18 classes entitle me to anything. Anyone that truly wanted Legacy and had a job could have had it.

People making a fuss about a $5 discount and a special, useless Chocobo skin. I still don't understand it. I only intended on paying the basic fee (1 character/world 8 characters max) anyways, so it wouldn't even affect me if my Legacy status up and vanished one day. Though I guess I can understand the kids around here that have the "it's not fair that I don't have it! Give it to me or take it away from everyone!" nonsense. FFXI fanbase was largely the same way. Whiny brats will be whiny brats.

Drachma from Skies of Arcadia sums this whole Legacy debate up quite well. "Damn kids."

Non legacy ppl seem to be even worse, almost everyone thinks they deserve legacy status cause they payed for the game years ago. Seen so many whine threads last few weeks that i can understand the ppl telling them to shut up. And there is nothing about entitelment if you tell them why you got legacy and they don't. Only seen very few posts from elitist on lodestone in the last few weeks but tons of crybabies.

If ppl stop to cry the others gonna stop telling them why they don't deserve legacy.

I don't see any difference between Legacy and non Legacy members...as long as the non Legacy members move off the path I am walking and never fail to bow as I pass...and to hear the lamentation of their women.

With that kind of logic the naked chocobo should be the fastest... Mounts should all be the same speed so people can choose mounts purely by appearance and thus use others mounts too rather than just using the fastest one...

Legacy was basically a reward for supporting the game when it was having problems. You either got Legacy and paid for it or you didn't and saved the money, either way nothing is lost and if you wanted Legacy then you made bad decisions

I've been away for a few days and come back to see the Alpha and Lodestone forums aflame over legacy status.

Jesus christ on a cracker, just when you think you've seen it all in this community. Out of all the things to fuss over, people are getting bent out of shape over phase 1 beta access that won't even be saved? FFS, go download Steam, purchase quality games on the steam sale for less than 20 bucks and play that until phase 2 or 3.

Besides, it's not like you people didn't know about the legacy cut-off and promotion. It was only announced on the front page of the lodestone since fraggin February of 2012. If you didn't want to pay then I don't know what to tell you. This whole thing reeks of sour grapes and jelly.

:) though I disagree to that everyone knew announcement thing, only those who checked before it scrolled down and saw it over the fat pinned legacy tab on the left would know. Luckily for those playing in the game at that time there are some people on the forums / daily lodestone checkers who brought the information to others.

Outside players didn't get that. I know I'm repeating this like a broken record but its a false statement that all those who were left out were on the -aware- terms. Some didn't know because of poor information placement/management.

Solution to legacy: leave it alone, respond to griefers - even about legacy with gms, consider future campaigns - include legacy players. Have fun.

And that's all that they were really targeting, those who were playing the game "currently". It wasn't a " Everyone is going to know advertisement. If the word got out then that's fine, but it was really targeting for current players. If everyone knew, then a lot of people would jump on it for the three months and wait for ARR, SE would lose out on 60 bucks a person a year. "If" there 200k population and they all did it that's $12,000,000 lost.

So, I don't believe it was targeted towards everyone, just the current fanbase that stuck through the game through thick and thin.

You know I could see this being as stupid a topic as everyone thinks it is IF it didn't involve real money.
The fact that legacy doesn't have to pay as much as everyone else to me is the biggest problem. I don't care about the choco or the name in the creds. But when you start adding real life money into the mix, that's when I have a problem.

Oh well. I'll still play. It's just tough luck I started up again too late.
For all you non-legacy players out there just remember. Your monthly sub is more helpful to SE then the Legacy people. Maybe that will make you feel a little better.

It would be a good idea for them to be returned.

Agree that was their target audience, but you'd have to admit they could have easily required you to have an existing account.

It's not SE is evil and I think you get me on that, I'm just saying "what you intended wasn't reality SE and ultimately you have to play in reality". But those few people affected barely made a peep, you were in that thread actually- :P.

For those few people I speak, as well as to promote kind response in telling people the event is over/how to confirm. Since some people's no's are quite bad lol

No they did not. Show me where "they" said this. You either got it or you didn't. I'm glad they are not giving it away. People who stayed loyal to the game should get the perks it has nothing to do with being elite. If you was active and gave a crap about the game you would have legacy. SE even posted it on lodestone so it wasn't some big ass secret.
