Nobody has signatures in the JP forums

Sigs are really more of a personal touch to each person's post. I'm sure that's obvious but that just means useful information for a sig isn't the point

*Think* I guess ... Sigs for us are a way of identifying our individuality or highlighting something that makes us special... but in Japanese culture it is very group conscious... very supportive of all being one unit, therefore they follow a model that will benefit 'everyone' ie. save space, don't distract from the conversation.

I adblock most of the signatures here anyway. Especially the huge ones.

Funny signatures are the ones that are most likely to not be blocked.

well... is sad that this forum doesn't give us option for "No signature" :\

And people can be jerks/cruel/clueless/or darn just idioto to make their signature big, even thou the forum have Auto Resize, it doesn't resize the damn file size, if the picture is above 10mb, it will still be 10mb regardless how small it got resize

=.= that is why i try to make my signature below 900kb. 500kb should be good for signature really... >_> wonder why people like to bloated so much on it, wasting bandwidth and such.

Being humble is a part of their culture, and that's exactly what they want to avoid

When I first joined the forums, I was annoyed that we couldn't upload personal avatars, but now I've come to enjoy each person's individual character model being displayed

Yes it does.

On the top bar go to settings -> Select General Settings -> Under "Thread Display options" un-check "Display signatures"

Yes, only once, but sometime i have to delete cache to do something else, end up need to relogin again..

Sigs aren't ment to have useful info in them.
They are personal just like "A SUIGNATURE!"

Anyways sigs are cool and sometimes hillarious.
Handle with care try hard and one day you might have a better sig than me.

i remember the time when there was a forum with 80,000 online users at the same time.... having post a picture more than 600kb = post deleted, having signature picture more than 250kb = signature deleted, having avatar more than 80kb = get deleted.

I like my signature, but I can't seem to make one as cool as Jacien and Anise :'c

Just can't seem to make it look like an actual anime character /sadness

I used to have one but the mods took it away and hand crafted me a text based one.

I find signatures annoying. They don't contribute to discussion and they just get really old after seeing the same images/pseudo-intellectual babbling/quotes like 20 times a page.

I can imagine JP as seeing it as kind of unnecessary: like putting your name at the end of every post in a signature like fashion.

OMG, i didn't know you could do this, i just did it, awesome, so annoying to have peoples anime signatures that just run on loops, I have AADD so it makes reading almost impossible, lol.

I think it has more to do with, they tend to access the forums by their cell phones and use the mobile version of the forums.
I could be wrong, but that may explain the lack of signatures more :)

The mobile version of the forums lacks certain features that the actual forums has.

When Japanese and I played COD online together, either of us speak English or Japanese we only spoke a sign language on the video-to-video client. He had a big TV, PS3, load of Gundam figures, and shitty computer in his little bedroom. He mostly uses it for Facebook and nothing else. lol

It was nice to see him, Japanese-style ceiling light, different time zones, and his family. :)
