i think dark knights should were a utility belt.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5U_b6c52is Just give me these back and I'm happy.
Ya i want to lean away from Scythes, GS are the better choice.
Scythes are for farmers.
Dark Knights should use Scythes. It's a more interesting and exotic-looking weapon compared to just a longer, heavier sword.
Perhaps the scythe can be a spell effect - or they will introduce jobs that can use two weapon types.
But if there is only one weapon option it should be a sword base. That is the classic Square Enix weapon for the dark knight.
If SE could make a way to have Drks be stronger with a 1 handed sword than a GLA i would like it. My biggest worry is how is Drk gonna stand up to already overpowered Drg.
Drg is faster and Stronger than a War with Gaxe and Gaxe in 11 were i kinda forget it was either slightly weaker than Scythe but faster or it was vise versa stronger but slower.
If Drks horrible acc from 11 carries over from 11 while drgs have ws to use incase they miss. Drg already has Life surge which shouldve been for drk, and good god whats drk gonna have over Power surge? Last resort? Great a whm is gonna hate you if you cant heal yourself like a Drg can with second wind and life surge.
No im not asking to nerf DRG but what the hell will Drk possible get that would make it be picked over a drg in a party. cause i dont want Drk to have a repeat of never getting pt invites like in 11.
Darkness ability which you reduce your health to fire a blast of Dark energy which hit all enemies, and Souleater a buff that reduced your hp for your auto attack to hit 1 enemy. ya totally the same thing. gotcha
Darkness, Darkside (暗黒剣, Ankokuken?), or Shadow Blade, is an ability where a character sacrifices a small amount of HP to deliver a strong Dark-elemental attack on all enemies. It is usually associated with the Dark Knight job.
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII
Zack can use Darkness by equipping the appropriate Materia. By sacrificing 12.5% of his HP, the player may damage all enemies within a certain radius around Zack, ignoring vitality. The ability costs no AP to use
Final Fantasy IV
Darkness, also known as Dark Wave, is used by Dark Knight Cecil. It hits all enemies at the cost of his HP. It did not appear as a command in the game's North American SNES version. However, during Cecil's encounter with his Dark Knight copy during his Paladin trial, the copy still uses this move.
Darkness (IV, X-2) = AoE, Costs HP.
Darkside/Soul Eater (VIII, XI) = Single Target, Costs HP.
Steel Cyclone XIV = AoE, Great Axe WS.
Steel Cyclone XI = Single Target, Great Axe WS.
Basically the same move and idea, just a difference of AoE or not...
Anyway, if DRK is implemented and their weapon of choice is scythe.. AF shoud look like this:

Let Samurai get mad about it.
http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/a...4tx4o1_400.gif This is how dark knight should feel.
I would hope DRK DD, too. I will definitely level it, whenever they introduce it, still to this day regret not doing so in FFXI.
There is also Dark Knight from Tatics.
In Tatics you could have a .01 percent chance to be hit. Then again an emeny could hit you, but with a 99% chance you'll miss them. So it's messed up anyway, dark knights could use sword to greatswords in tatics and use a shield. They could equip Eschteon, I know it's spelled wrong sorry.
Dark Knights should be both a DD/Tank if they wanted to be.
Paladin more defenseive tank better for adds, Dark Knights would be the more DDing better for main tanking, and warrior would be well-rounded so good for both situations but not as good as eith Pld or drk.
That's how I would make my tanks.
It's kinda of... hypocritical... people wanted white mage to not only be healers, but damage dealers too. Which is why the wheel was split, which is still a dumb idea. Yet when it comes to different plays styles people want dark knight to be DD only? So all that heavy armor and the greatsword is for show? More armor than a paladin, and a warrior put together yet can't take a hit?
We already have a tank that does decent damage in warrior. I think having a tank with high damage would not be balanced and would make the warrior obsolete.
Damage dealers can be more specialized than tanks, by that I mean armor class, weapon choices, spells etc,. etc. There has to be some trade off to even things out, though.
