When games are delayed, that's normally announced by developers, not by an anonymous polish dude on twitter with 173 followers. Try harder Elexia.

its a dead give away that its fake because theirs no way they would need to bring the vs team in on this when they have a big enough staff already working on 14 if they did it would actually slow down development to bring that many people in on the project things would be chaotic
The only delays game publishers announce are release dates. Can't announce a delay on a date that has yet to be given.
Thread is toooo funny right now. So many people in denial of what could possibly be.
And then people who actually still care about vsXIII. Wow.
Sorry, but as much as I hope this could be fake, all signs point to a summer release. We have no dates for anything. We got a date on Alpha testing like....3 or 4 days before alpha testing and it will be the same for Beta and a probably a little more time for release.
Was this the "flood" of info we have all been waiting for?
I don't see what's so bad about a summer release date. That's basically the soonest I'll have enough free time to play anything D:
I went through the whole thread, believe me. All these signs you're referring to are personal wishful thinking. Fake or not, it's clear who is in denial of facts laid in front of them.
Just give me a date for beta or release. You can't. How about, how long Alpha will actually last. Or is it not true that their timeline was pushed back?
Im just saying, don't be quick to shoot down this stuff or else you could be heart broken. Some people are just thinking that the possibility is true.
I wonder how Starlord is gonna come to SEs rescue.
It was on the Internet so it must be true. In all seriousness now that Ver1.0 is in the books and initial Alpha testing is progressing smoothly I believe it is time for Yoshida-san to provide us with an updated roadmap for the future development of ARR. This should give us reasonable time frame for what to expect and when (Aprox) to expect it. Doing this will hopefully keep the rumor mill somewhat at bay and give the loyal subscribers the news they deserve. Community Reps, could you please pass along this suggestion.
You won't see what you don't wanna see. The fact of the matter is that people have their heart set on something that was never set in stone.
Saw your edit. That wasn't the fact I was referring to. If you even saw what I posted. I never said that the information was true.
obviously everybody who is interested in playing would love the 2.0 client release to be as soon as possible, but taking a good 6 months or so is wise if they actually want the game to turn out right.
No, I don't see facts where there are none.
All we have is a random pole with no credibility writing on twitter that he knows "someone" at square enix that told him some stuff, and the usual haters keen on spreading FUD pumping it like it was fact.
The second cousin of my aunt told me...
I don't believe this rumor is true to be honest. The current generation of consoles is coming to an end, and Versus XIII needs to be out in a timely fashion. They're in Alpha now, what would they need a ton of extra members for?
So they added more people to the already 200+ man team i call bs.
1) A lot of this game systems are in place a lot of things they do not need to test, I will say yoshi-p and his team are really good at getting rid of bugs until the last patches when people was bitching cause they wanted to take more time to get rid of them.
2) A lot of stuff that was added in 1.0 was added in 2.0 in parallel, I just don't see this games beta needing to take that long tbh.
What if this is all a ploy by SE to gauge consumer reaction towards a delay?

Some of you humans really will believe anything you hear at all... I think I'll believe what I want... or maybe I'll believe what Abriael is saying since I mean his second cousin of his aunt told him so... so that must be true you know... Family wouldn't lie about this...
Of course any idiot could see and tell that this is all false and made up... so what does that say for all those that actually believe it hmmm? Also you people shouldn't get so worked up over something like this... I mean really... If Yoshi or Wada came out and said it then you might have something but really... such a joke most of you have become on these forums.
Someone pass me the cookies... and some milk... nyaaaaaan this is going to be a good show... I can already tell...
Oh and some of you really need to stop trying so hard... really... /looks at Elexia
The cat is amused =^.^=
As most speculate, I doubt any of this is true, and a rumor is a rumor, is a rumor...so whatever. I think whoever is saying/doing this, including OP is just a troll trying to light a fire. Unless there's proof from and actual developer or from a producer directly quoted (or translated) it's just another baseless claim.
HOWEVER if there is a July release, I would hope that people, especially current players, would understand and stfu about having to wait. They are completely redoing the game, from ground up, this has never been done before for an mmo, and the devs/producers/devs/mods/gms are people too and shit just takes time. Also remember that we could've been stuck with 1.0 for the duration of the life of the mmo itself.....they didn't HAVE to redo XIV. If you ever had connection issues, or dx issues, problems running full screen, graphic glitches, problems with ninja looting, bots, content finding issues, or complained that there wasn't enough content or darklight drop rate is too low.....STFU and be patient to get what you want =)
I think that if we do have to wait until July, they should at least leave like, a limited version up like a demo for the PC and PS3, or maybe just leave it in open beta while they are also receiving feedback and are implementing more content for the release version. That way, people get what they want and are able to play it, plus, they get a game with a lot of content. Sitting here guessing at things doesn't exactly help the company at all, thus, making this thread lock-worthy and never to be discussed again.
Actually, I think this is true for the following reasons.
A few months back, Kotaku reported (site down due to Storm Sandy) that the Versus team had been disbanded and is working on other projects. People immediately speculated that it was because the game was cancelled until Yoichi Wada tweeted that it was not cancelled. In light of that the leak didn't make sense. Until now. Versus ISN'T cancelled but the team IS disbanded, working instead on FFXIV. In case you guys haven't figured it out, SE is not going to announce FFXV because they think it will make FFXIV a failure.
So Kotaku's story WAS legit, but probably just misinterpreted based on it being a low level staff leak. Today's leak confirms it.
I wouldn't use Kotaku as a legit source for anything, especially when the article is written by brian ashcraft on anything Square Enix-related. The dude hates SE so much that it's comical.
Also, Wada and Square Enix specifically and very clearly stated that work was continuing on FFvXIII, which obviously contradicts any notion of the team being "disbanded".
My cousin Gino works for this guy named Rocko who's sister's boyfriends niece heard from this dude on the street that it was true!
You people need more hobbies. And by you people I must mean me too, because I am just as guilty for posting in here as you all are. Shame on us all !!!! :p
ARR is already far along enough for the Alpha, the Alpha is moving along smoothly so far, I expect the beta to start up after not too long, depending on how the beta goes we could see the official launch not too horribly long after that.
However Yoshi said that they won't release ARR until they are 100% satisfied, so it could take a long time; I don't think anyone even Yoshi knows at this point how long it will all take, it just depends upon how well the beta goes. Also I think Yoshi would just tell us if it was actually planned for July, they know what they have promised, and the last thing they want is to not meet our expectations.
I trust Yoshi and so far he's been a great producer. Earlier I was telling a friend yes I pay a monthly fee for FFXIV and I have no problem doing so because Yoshi has been so great updating us and trying hard to meet our expectations and responsibly input our feed back and that's just something you don't see in any video game.
Good things come to those who wait!
A July release sounds about right. With all that they are planning on including at launch, I'd hope they'd take enough time to get it down correctly. It's a pretty ambitious project.
final save tells me it wont be 8 months from now why would they loose that much money and let the game sit idle.
Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March, April, May, June, July...
Why cut 1.0 now if it only takes ONE month to transfer data if we have to wait NINE months for 2.0?
Somehow I'm not buying this rumor.
Wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be to true. Yoshi-P may have bitten a bit more than he could chew. You can't build top-tier MMORPG in a year and a half. The original FFXIV team had five years, and yet...
