Its called avoiding a headache. Cuz now they are in a position where they can't delay those jobs nor change their mind. The benefit of keeping it secret is that if there are kinks you can just sweep it under the rug and release later. But now everyone is anticipating it so it has to be amazing.

The directors of this game would like to apologise for the recent patch. Those responsible for patching the work of the those who were supposed to patch it properly, have just had their work patched.

The leaked jobs have thus been redesigned at the last minute and at incredible expense.

(read: they fixed that one within the last hour or so)

Well, its pretty much a given, there is a "coming soon" slot in the Job Section and under Disciples of Magic. You can say they are shopped all you want but if you bothered reading the descriptions, you'd believe them to be real.

i hope there is gonna be also a melee class like thief, musketeer or somethin.

I dont want to have hundreds of summoners be leveled in 2.0. ;XD

Since we're getting Arcanist, Musketeer can't be too far behind. They're the two "missing" classes after all. Been in game since the start.

And once I get Musketeer, I'm never going to use a different battleclass :cool:

I am guessing that Musketeer would be next seeing as how they made Archer into a Bard. They would need a ranged DPS class/job to balance the selection of party roles.

I've heard it suggested that Musketeer would be like the ranged Monk. High damage against a single target kind of thing.

Yeah, I don't really see it being an AOE ranged. I can understand Archer being able to do that, (ex. barrage) as it isn't unique to FF that an archer fire more than one arrow at once.

Also, this reminds me... of my entire FFXIV experience, I have never visited the musketeers guild. I may have a few times for quests, but I have very vague memories. :P

Anyways, I would also love to see a ranged AOE attacker, much mike Warrior but probably a lot less defense. Cannoneer comes to mind when I think of it, but that could just as well become the Job version of Musketeer, and very pirate-like. Cannoneer is from FF Tactics Advance 2 and its a AOE Ranged Enfeebler/Debuffer Job. Whilst in FFXI, Corsair was more like a Bard/Gambler. I'd like to see some different varieties instead of ports from FFXI. Corsair was fun but I would place my vote on an official Enfeebler/Debuffer class.

Should be fine as long as it also has some AoE that makes sense for a musket. Something like a scattershot that fans out in a cone in front of the musketeer, or explosive shells that do damage to a mob and any other mobs within 5 yalms of it. Roster > Niche, and yes that also applies to DPS.

Just saw Musketeer hit XIVPads and I am so excited! :D

Its probably archer with a gun. Archer as a class is high single-target dps, while bard adds the AoE potential. Musketeer will probably have crap aoe potential but will expand upon that single-target dmg.

I think musketeer's AoE, if limited, should have something attached to it. I'm particularly fond of scattershot having a snare attached to it, for example. I just wouldn't want Musketeer to get too screwed over in boss fights due to lack of AoE.

Those pages WERE ACTUALLY up for a short time but were taken down. I did see the arcanist page on the site not long after this thread came up, but it was taken down moments later, suggesting it was posted earlier than intended by mistake.

Yeah, and the new job surely is Summoner ... aside the fact many people have seen the page, but atm if you type "http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/about/game/jobs/summoner" in the address bar you'll get an error, while different attempts (let's say samurai, or redmage ecc.) will only bring you to jobs main menu ...

I'm gonna say they're fake, the images suggest someone photoshopped over the Paladin and conjurer entries on the official site. I've even seen one for Musketeer. Until we get actual confirmation from the devs, it's a good idea to be skepical.

The Arcanist and Summoner pages were real, many people saw them with their own eyes. Musketeer was photoshopped because someone wanted to screw with us.

Many people also claimed to have seen bigfoot.

I can confirm the Summoner/Arcanist pages were up as I saw them first hand, along with a bunch of LS mates who were in mumble at the time.

I'm a little bit dubious about the Musketeer one, but it looks to be in the same format as the other two (so the Archer is there as a placeholder, just like the PLD/WHM). However, since there's a lack of people who saw that compared to AST/SMN, the page load error thing and no Job found to go with it.... I don't know.

Also, how do you abbreviate Arcanist without using ARC for Archer?

It is fake. Me and many other people (I guess) tried to put the name of various other classes/jobs (musketeer being the first one) in the links when arcanist/summoner were still up and none worked.

ACN all the time.

ACN seems the most plausible, then of course it will become SMN :) I never got to be a Summoner in XI, so this is going to be my big break. I was never a magic user and always figured I'd be a Paladin, but since I started with my THM I've not been able to go back! I can't wait to have a second job on the go, and the Grimoire idea, along with Carbuncle, sounds epic! I just can't stop learning these forbidden magic arts ;)

Yeah, this sounds like the way to go.

In case many of you didn't know, the Arcanist and Summoner FIT with the lore right now for the beginning of ARR, since with the Primals and all. That's the most logical and given class and job we will get for now.
