...the images from the other site looks kinda fake. They dont follow the website design to show a specific class/job.
Ok, lets wait. They made a post on Facebook saying "..the classes and jobs at launch...blabla"
But the website show the news from yesterday..didnt check it.
Not fully, i am sure they used some of the concepts and ideas, and even content to update 1.0 while the new team worked on 2.0, but as far as content from the expansion being used for 2.0, i seriously doubt it, for 2.0 is an entirely 180 from Tanaka's vision, and since FFXIV is taking content and ideas from other tittles of the main series(Wish is more in line with Yoshidas vision) i doubt that was the case, and yes they do have a werehouse full of content, FF1-13/spin offs, thats where they will draw their ideas and content.
Unless you don't recognize certain aspects of the game, that have been directly stolen from the main series.
This is how I see Summoner working in A Realm Reborn.
Arcanist has access to all the summons (minus the big boys and girls like Ifrit, Garuda and Titan), and in order to summon the greater primals they would have to switch to their job (Summoner) in order to call them.
The Arcanist and Summoner can use the folowing:
- Carbuncle
- All the Elemental spirits
- Fenrir
- Typhon
- Caitsith
- And any other smaller/lesser summons that the FF XIV team has hidden, and tucked away.
Summoner on the other hand can summon the following:
- All the above mentioned summons
- (The big boys and girls) Ifrit, Garuda, Titan, Leviathan, Shiva, Odin, etc.
I would just like to add one thing before my speculations close:
I don't have the quote with me, however, do any of you guys remember (or have the link) back when someone on the team said that you would have to charge something up in order to use the primal, or at least use him/her to their full potential?
Maybe that means you'll have to charge them up like with the new Limit Break system, and the summons "maybe" work into that sort of use? As maybe a big ultimate finisher like Hellfire with the in the party. And then they continue to fight after summoned until a certain amount of time expires or what not?
I'm probably WAAAAAAAY off here, but just figured I'd share my crazy, retarded thoughts :)
I don't really think Summoner will get the big primals. They made them quite powerful and really larger than life in FF14 compared to FF11. If anything I believe Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Shiva, Ramuh, Leviathan and Odin will be, as they have stated before, summon-able by the Free Companies and only one of them will exist.
Since we don't know the mechanics of how Arcanist/Summoner will work it is really only speculation but they have already confirmed the whole Free Company summon situation. If anything I believe Summoner will get lesser primals.
Some examples are:
Carbuncle
Siren
Cait Sith
Unicorn
Midgardsormer
Moomba
Quezacotl
Phoenix
Typhon
etc
Just look here at all the summons from past games: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Summons
I'm much more excited to see them do something different and add lots of variety. But then this is just my favorite idea of what they could do.
It doesn't say WE as summoner's can.
"The beast tribes of Eorzea worship and summon forth beings known as primals, among which are Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan."
Says the beast tribes can. If we can summon them then it wont be to the same effect as it was in FF11 I imagine. Maybe only Summoners can summon the one time only primals FOR the Free Companies.
Arcanist may be the new BST job since they can call a familiar into battle.
I think everyone is misinterpreting what people are saying by "Summoners can summon Ifrit, Garuda, Titan etc.".
I think what they are referring to, including myself, is this:
Ifrit and company are not pets. Carbuncle is a, however, more or less, a pet for mages.
I would assume Carbuncle and friends work somewhat similar to how he/they did in FF XI, more or less.
However, when you and your Linkshell/Free Company defeats Ifrit or any of the other numerous primals in the realm, the "Summoner" in the party can be the only job that summons him, as intended, for the rest of the party as either a 15 min, or a Limit Break, or hwoever they plan on doing it.
It would seem rather silly seeing a dragoon summon Ifrit after all, wouldn't it? :P
I went back and cleaned my post up a bit so it's easier to understand. This is all just speculation though, as intended. I could be deader than a doornail wrong, but I guess we'll find out eventually! :)
I'd just like to throw out that I pretty much called out months ago on here in an old, old post (way back when Urianger Augerelt was being controlled around by the GM at Camp Horizon and the Grand Company intro quests) that Arcanist would most likely be the class that turns into Summoner down the road. Guess I was right in the long run! Hah hah :D
I mean it made the most sense to me with the fact that he summoned familiars at the player. (Drake, raptor, and that peiste)
Maybe Primals are a higher tier of summon than what's possible for one summoner to control, hence a group being required to use them. You can see in storyline cutscenes how many Ama'jaa it took to summon Ifrit. Expecting your character to have equal power to 4 or 5 beastman summoners using a crapload of crystals to aid them is egotistic and silly.
Yes, but that has been for little things... like chocobos jumping...
He wanted to design the primal fights/GC Summons around the fact that they were the big bad ones, and leave the little guys open for possible job summons. That is pretty major thing to change without notice, if it wasnt for that I would agree that the primals could possibly be summoned.
Edit: with the chocobos being able to jump, I think that was more along the lines of saying nothing since his last statement and leaving it for a surprise for everybody.
This is why they have been nuking these threads, people.
SE clearly wasn't ready to release this information. This was not a leak, it was a page template which was discovered through typing in random jobs/classes to the address. This could be a template page for now, and the job could still be going through tweaks and may change completely from what it said on the page by the time it's formally announced.
I know that we're all excited about ARR, but come on, let's wait for the official info to be released, and THEN judge them unfairly on how we will hate the job based on the paragraph that's been released about it.
Anyway, it's exciting and can't wait to have more details on the mechanics of Summoner ;)
thing is http://............/summoner was the only job with a website.. no bst no rdm no sch no drk... only smn if it was just a template for future jobs it would have worked with /darkknight /redmage.. /beastmaster.. so on and so on..
EDIT: not that this are future comfirmed jobs.. just stateing how templates would work
the problem here was that SE had this webpage on the deployed site and most likely they were editing it and getting it ready to release it.. instead of having the site on a local or test server
Maybe the leak was planned all along and they are acting their part deleting the threads, all but one thread.. ;)
my thread is the choosen one!!!.
I am interested in this mythical screenshot. Where might it be found?
google ffxiv summoner leak and i think the first post will take you to a ZAM forum with 2 SS.. they are Placeholding webpages the pictures are like W/E but the lore in it is about the class/job.
