But you have to get these to prove to new players that you played XIV before it was good!

So if you have already beaten him once, you have completed the story. Yes it is quite an ordeal but this content will last until servers go down (I am assuming in January, they wouldn't shut the servers down because 4000 people are in 2.0 beta... -_-) for a month, then *pop* *sploosh* 2.0!
Lucky, players from XI now are able to get access to XIV now. Nice to see SE added cavernous maw/ atomos so we can help them experience xiv. Good to have new blood in the game now! Suck we cant go back to vana diel.
JK! 0.o
AT-T-T-T-T-TOMOS!!!!
As if Imperial patrol ships and Dalamud looming over us all weren't sinister enough, now we have Atomos?! Loving it!! I wonder what the new weather effects are..
Well... I'm Maelstrom. I use their ATK earrings. XD
But I am still a tank, so a regen effect would be great to have while tanking. Thats why I express concern for the potency of it. But for mages, the extra M.ACC and refresh is going to be perfect for them.
If you play a game again and get the same ending, do you feel the same way?
I realize its a story fight. But its a heck of alot better this way then watching it on Youtube cause you wanted to see it again. Id rather play it again, like i did atleast 20 times for each NES, SNES FF that came out. I didn't throw the cartridge at SE headquarters cause Zeromus died the same way twice.
Its for the fun of it with or without some one who needs it.
I'm actually really going to miss Dalamud when this is all over. I know the new maps and areas will be great, but I love how menacing that giant red moon is. Looking forward to seeing what Yoshi-P and the team have planned for A Realm Reborn!
*internet hug to Anony Moose* If it's any consolation I think the 'easy mode' is just the current Rivenroad fight? I'm not exactly sure. Either way, it's /pretty/ lame but it falls into the same grey-area of lore-breaking as being able to repeat missions to help your friends with them, as far as I'm concerned; the patch notes even basically say it's an OOC challenge. It doesn't look like something people will want to be spamming for gear or anything as much as "can you beat the final boss fight in 1.xx in hardmode?!? are you fierce enough!?" with a good but not overwhelming legacy item to show off as bling / proof of valour in 2.0.
It's either that or my first reaction to the posted patch notes. Which was:

The first thing i saw when I saw those Maws was is Abyssea and [S] zones coming to FFXIV?

Look at it its a copy paste job from the FFXI cavernous maws. Giving how much people loved abysssea in FFXI they could bring the same system to FFXIV.
Who said it wouldn't still be there in 2.0? I doubt it's just going to vanish. The threat might go away but it will probably always be there.
Also people stop acting like the only FF game Atomos has been in is FF XI. This does not mean FF XI is coming to FF XIV.
Am i the only one who doesnt know what an "Atomos" is? ;XD
*(Blinks slowly)*
This is mad awesome... and I suddenly have flashbacks of Atomos appearing in FFXI during WOTG. All we need now is Cait Sith to make an appearance...
*(Glances at Rivenroad Hard mode possible party set-ups, and sarcastically wonders...)*
Yeah, ummm... how about something we have never tried? PLD/WAR x 1 and BLM x 7... Manaburn FTW?
hopefully Hard mode wont be like Garuda :)
lets enjoy some wipes
I know right? Atomos was incredible in IX, destroying an entire city, and damn that thing scared me.

Also, I haven't finished the GC questline yet, so I'll have to see what happens concerning Dalamud. I do love it!
Also dont forget the small fact that "new monsters have been added" per notes. Im interested in that Atomos and the new weather condition which im guessing is meteor shower.
Depends on the context, I suppose. Short answer, a more accurate parallel would be when the ending of Final Fantasy X-2 was a reuinion that negated the powerful emotion I felt at the ending of part one.
I felt pretty accomplished for taking part in the "conclusion" and seeing the "finale." Now I feel like I didn't really accomplish anything - that it was a stepping stone, a minor fight that paved the way for my real goal.
I'm happy to achieve the new goal - but... at the same time it's bittersweet. It's all about the words used to describe the fight, I think.
I guess it's just a fun extra in the end... but something psychologically sits awkwardly with me. No one else felt that stinging disappointment at the same time as the excitement?
So what are these new monsters and where!?
[dev1483] New weather conditions have been added.
Would be nice if they added the ability to turn off the weather effects so my PC doesn't sound like a fridge.
