The dread this fills me with, lol.

It's the FFXIV bait and switch marketing ploy SE has been using for nearly the entire run of this game. Say or draw something that looks much better than we actually got. They do this on big pieces of content like expansions, and even small pieces like holiday events. LikeOrBecome the Warrior of Darkness! which still upsets me to no end that they promised something like this and have it be just a throw away line when it simply oozed with potential twists and turns and surprises in the story.Could hold that which is dear, without sacrifice? when we don't actually suffer any loss, much less a sacrifice. Unless you want to consider the loss of good writing as the loss we suffered and losing the promised Krile storyline as the sacrifice.
Never believe tag lines or artwork coming from the FFXIV marketing team and Yoshida, you will always be sorely disappointed.
I feel it was a bad decision to allow the art team to put characters in the event art that aren't part of the event itself. I'd rather see the characters that are actually in the event or generic adventurers enjoying the festivities. Putting the Scions on the ad when they aren't in the event just creates false expectations.
NOW... the scions are everywhere
they could use the minor npcs standing around as soon as you ve finished the quest. like fourchenault and laniaitte at the valention event
I am disappointed, I was hoping we'd do a lot more in this quest than just talk to 3 people, you gave us a whole Idol costume, let us do some idol-ing
The texture of the chestpiece is really good. Love it! : D
The event itself was lame as always nowadays. :/
At least they made a little sound effect when "the prince" breathes into the microphone.
Imagine if we had REALLY heard him sing! x3
THAT would have been cool. :)
Hey, does anyone else remember how a few years back, we were all asking for stuff like holiday outfits to be gender unlocked so that all characters could wear any outfit, and we were so happy when they went back and did that for some older event gear, but now the only gear we get at every event since is "gender neutral" (ie masculine) so now NO ONE gets any new femme clothes anymore?
I certainly remember.
unisex gear is so stupid......
My WoL tends towards masculine looks generally but I really do miss the option. I will say though, that I think my preference is because the feminine holiday gear in this game generally goes too cutesy for me. I would love to wear more sultry/mature feminine looks but it's either pants suit or baby doll dress and rarely anything in-between. I want those Jihl from FF13 vibes.
On the one hand, I want some more unisex clothing. I occasionally want my cute girl to be dressed in a vest and tie, or a cute jacket like the new one from the event, or a suit.
On the other hand I sympathize with your problem of there not being enough new femme-coded clothing. And especially of the more mature style... less girly, more stylish/edgy. I completely agree.
Yeah, like, I think this event outfit looks good and looks fine on my catboy, but I certainly notice how we used to get two disinct outfits and now only get one, and to me it's just another sign of laziness and completely misunderstanding player feedback.
Many players didn't like gender locked outfits. We want to be able to collect and wear any outfit on any character. But they interpreted it as "we want 'unisex' (which is always masc-coded) clothing. I'm thinking about all the new glam we've gotten since Dawntrail and trying to think if there's been a single outfit that reads distinctly feminine to me, which I would like for my femra alt as I like very elegant and feminine clothes on her.
At first I though maybe they're too cowardly to make femme clothes equipable by male characters, but they unlocked a ton of old gear with dresses and ruffles and such that can be worn by male PCs now, so I don't think that's it. They just don't want to make two different outfits but knew players would throw a fit if we all were given was ONLY a girly outfit, so everyone gets a masc-leaning outfit instead.
Hell, just make the top, gloves, and shoes the same but then make two different bottom pieces that anyone can equip, pants and a skirt, and you don't have to pick one, the set comes with both. That would still save labor time and give everyone what they want.
SE being told that people likes to have the option to wear both male and female clothings.
What SE gets: "So you want a unisex gear!"
So which one is the iconic duo? SE & their tendencies to misinterpret feedbacks. or SE & their tendencies to take the path of least resistance?

I too like this year's glam. But boy if I could have a miniskirt/booty pants instead of a trouser that I already have 69 variants at this point....
I don't see it, as I know the AF sets change into shorts or skirts for female characters along with a bunch of other gear. TBH, it's rarer to see pants for female characters since the majority of them change into long dresses like the contest winner steampunk set and the nier sets.
I've been playing MMO for ages now, and having a female character, it's much easier to have a variety of clothing vs male, which usually gets many long sleeved tops and long pants for outfits.
I do agree we need more shorts for men though.
What game are you playing even the whm af is gender neutral now, only dancer still isn't, and I guess a bloo bloo pict didn't have an open stomach.
