Probably busy people, unlike the weird assumption that people who like these quick catch-ups are "lazy."

Quick catch ups and artificially bloated grinds are equally lazy.
It's crazy that quests designed to level combat jobs rarely involve any combat. And even when they do, the enemy is dead before you can finish your opener.
Enemies in these quests should take a little bit of time to kill, like B rank hunts at the start of an expansion, and they should do different things based on your role like tankbusters, debuffs, or silenceable skills. There should also sometimes be groups where it's actually worth using your aoe skills. They don't need to be tough like Bozja duels, but you should at least have to try and play your job for these dailies.
Personally, I do not care for "spicy" exciting stuff to do for MMO casual content. I just want my glam/mounts/emotes etc side content done easy even if it is grindy. I do not got time to sit around all day.
Unless your flying around a Astrope with all the achievements done; then their is still mmo content yet to be done.
Want "spicy" shorter content. Do PVP. Or try doing savage/extremes/ultimate with those gate-keeping elitist report trolls and try not to get auto-suspended for asking questions.
The dailies could use a bit more stuff to add to them. I know my SAM class is 715 ilvl, but the single adds die a little too fast. Pop Meikyo, use the 3 combo finishers, Tendo Setsugekka, Kaeshi Tendo Setsugekka, dead with massive overkill on the last hit. I didn't even need the Senei X slash or even the Ogi combo.
The bag pick up quest was probably too simple. If it spawned the weaker multi adds like those solo treasure maps, it would at least be something. The single adds could definitely use a similar HP level to the weekly B rank hunts as others say. I can usually do a full opener with one or two combos at least on those enemies. Some quests might need 1 more turn in or objective elsewhere on the map before finishing too.
A couple are literally 100 yalms away in the same hub area and can complete without leaving town. Maybe have the quest require us to pick up herbs from someone beset with enemies, first turn in gets the medecine, use medecine on targets, then complete?
Granted I've not done every Beast Tribe, but the ones I have done are usually quick "go here, do one thing" i.e. the pixies and the fish dudes from Stormblood. I don't see how it's gotten any "worse"? If anything that one where you carry the crate ends up taking more time than most do to resolve. I'm cool with the brisk pace honestly.
That fish graphic does look quite ... umm ... sickly and inedible, lol. I am looking at it now and can verify ForsakenRoe is completely right with the graphics for 3 fish.
I get that the dailies here are supposed to be simple, but our current ones feel a touch bit too easy. I am almost sneezing at the enemy with almost half an opener and they are already dead. As a minor spoiler, the main NPC even realizes they can't rely on us forever and have us help find other NPCs to do the work. However, one quest said they already made the medicine and only asked us to apply it to the targets. This is probably something the NPCs should be able to do if their medicine supply line hasn't been obstructed. It would only make sense if they were somehow too busy and late with other things that we could solve by dispatching enemies. Although the heavy box quests I can somewhat understand as long as it is a long enough distance that can avoid enemies. There is even one quest where the NPC guards legitimately didn't need our help and we are literally just there to ask if the tourist is alright. It could have been a first time with having NPC guards helping us to defeat enemies alongside with us as we help fight. The tourists could still be in awe that the WoL and the guards protected them.
Honestly if anything, I think the lack of content just highlights the 'boring dailies' more and more because people having lesser excuse to tell themselves "Well at least there's still XYZ content to do for the day..." after finishing them.
