I lost another crown due to an AoE hitting me that I did not even step in. To a person who got an achievement for TEN wins.
Do I have to DC travel to Dynamis to get a win in solo queue at this point?

Ironically, the better people become at doing the maps the better it becomes to simply qualify and immediately leave if all you want are the points for dyes, housing items, etc... It's about an average of 8-9 mins including the waiting times to do all 3 maps for an average of 300 (since only 1 out of 8 can win). You can qualify for the first map and dip out of the second map in about 3-4 mins. If you are lucky enough to get the red, yellow, blue map for the 2nd wave and are good at the timing you can get 250 in 3-4 mins and then dip after qualifying.
This is with people taking forever with the 1st map since it takes 16 to qualify. Once everyone becomes better it will reduce the time for both, still making it more consistent for your time to do map 1 & 2 then dip out.
I just quit out if it is the carry one. :(
Yeah, I do think the little bean is cute, but I would rather they actually put in the time to do it properly. Of course, if the regular headpiece requires hat hair, that is the problem.
The server tick issue is really a big problem in this event, I actually put up that I really liked it in my OP, but as more and more people logged in and are playing it, it's basically become a nightmare, I'm from EU and I'm either going through things that should hit me, or getting hit by things that shouldnt hit me
actually ridiculous tbh, very sad that it ruins such a fun event, it's almost unplayable as an european playing on NA
Got hit 3 times by things that I was away from.....not having fun and I cant even get the stuff without participating. But meh, even if I lose I can very slowly build up to buy all the things I guess....Do you get the mgf or whatever it is called even if you dont try running? Because If so I might just stand still :P
After falling off the platform after 2 goddamn seconds I can confidently say that this content can f off....
So apparently ninja speed buff still works in this event not sure how that slipped SE QA team so I’ve been told by a couple of people and it kind of make sense because I seen a couple of get a ahead of the back compared to everyone else
im not enjoying it at all, im just doing the first stage and the afking the 2nd
At the end, in typical ffxiv fashion. it takes way to long to load screens, display winner info, then your info, then back to the lobby
If you lose the first round, still have to go do the loading screen for 2nd because????
But at prime time today (1700 CST) we only had 9/24 people in our match.
Round 2 went really quick, only needed 1 elimination for next stage but rewards SUCKED.
It's not my fault no one queued, why am I punished for that via rewards?

WTH is up with CBU3 and these insane "winning" achieves. Only 1 person out of 24 can win and they put in a 100 win achieve? That's just cruel.
I completed it got all the points I needed for all the items and got the win achievement. Now If want to do it more just for the housing items I can and don't have to worry about the other stuff.
On the first point, as soon as you are eliminated and see the reward in your chatlog, you can open the Duty Finder and leave - you'll keep the rewards and can bail before the loading screen if you're quick. Would be nice to just have an option to always bail automatically though.
I think the rewards thing is designed as some sort of anti-exploit? The matchmaking is kind of busted, and I've had two games where I'm in a solo instance now. I'll take the free wins and the 290 or so currency you still get after the reduction, but I can't believe nobody joined the queue in the 2-minute lobby time. Kind of reminds me of Eureka instances locking.
Just some examples of the excellent netcode we're working with here. It's like 2.0 Titan all over again.
Keep posting these. Let the devs understand that this type of gameplay doesn't work with the current backend systems.

FFXIV really feels like it is not equipped for this kind of gameplay. What's supposed to be a fun, and goofy game mode is overshadowed by inconsistent snapshots from obstacles, and debuffs. Entering, and leaving a game is also tedious. It's just frustrating.
Wow winning 1 crown was pretty much the luckiest part because everytime I arrive at the final, I get screwed by something, it is such a mess lol
I just like how I've seen some people defending this, saying how we don't know about snapshotting an' all that.
Doesn't make it any more fun. In this sort of game, if I have already ran past the obstacle, it shouldn't grab my butt from the past.
They could have at the very least given us proper warnings on the obstacles. On round 3 for example, you have no time to react to the bombs coming from the sky. If the circle spawns under you, then have fun, you ain't dodging that.
Man, I'm so glad people are finally seeing just how bad FFXIV's netcode is. Hopefully this provides some incentive to the devs to improve FFXIV's netcode/network architecture. The only way we are going to see results is if we keep calling SE out for things like this.
The fact that Square Enix chose to recreate Fall Guys shows how out-of-touch they are with their own game code. How did they manage to think that this would work? Maybe they were too ashamed and would rather ignore the elephant in the room? We can't even have nice things in raids because of this, let alone a game mode like Fall Guys.
But none of this matters because the raids won't change and we won't get any improvements in 7.0. What matters most is that people buy the expac, beat the story, and unsubscribe. And looking at the Japanese forum where no one is discussing this, it's likely that the devs don't even know this exists. All that remains is some gripes on the English forums here and there, we get told to unsub or play other games, and that's it. Profit is profit.
(Don't get me wrong, the idea of a Fall Guys collab is great. Just like the ideas behind most things in FFXIV. But ideas don't play themselves.)
Btw I flippin knew this was gonna happen. This game's netcode is so stupid, and its been such a hindrance for why we cant have better and fun fights. Everything has to be design around a delay including mechanics and I seriously hope they finally realize they need to update their entire code if we want this game to be fun to play.
Being serious here, how many people ACTUALLY enjoy play FFXIV? I mean physically, in terms of combat? Because I dont. I tolerate sure but its shit like this that makes it really hard to have true fun with this game because the netcode and delay is so horribly bad. We just all gotten used to it for so long.
Well I say its time we started making more noise about this, because if the game is going to try to evolve for the next 10 years, it needs to get its network and engine upgraded just as much as the graphics.
i am just loving the fact it gives a decent amount of MGP when i saw the mgf currency i was sad cause i was thinking it wouldnt give any but it still does and its not a bad amount so even if you are losing you will make some mgp for normal gold saucer stuff too.
i will also say the whole thing is a set pattern that just repeats so once you get down what happens when and where the whole things gets just alittle bit easier.
I'm glad I don't like any of the glam rewards so I don't feel pressured to grind this out. Don't wanna dress like a teenager that's been made to get up at 5am to do a car bootsale with their dad.
Honestly most the time I play the game, I'm high as a kite. So I have a small delay anyways. Works in my favor :P
Load in after que, wait 2 minutes, wait during start screen, wait before start, if you loose to timeout have fun waiting for next round before you can leave. You also wait for the winner. You also obviously wait for more to get to the next round and when you fall because it has to load again... also net code fitting for halloween.
I'm having a blast, it's probably the best collab this game has ever gotten.
The aoe telegraphs are not any more unfair than those in PvE content. They are exactly the same, there's just way more of them.
You have to remember that what you see on your screen is actually 100 or 200ms behind what's happening in reality. If you can dodge Devour in e5s, or Adelphel's orbs in DSR, you shouldn't have any issues with fall guys mechanics.
I've enjoyed it for the little I did too.
From what I've gathered, one of the big complaints is the snapback for the ending. Feels bad to think you win to just see people behind you jump up to the crown.
Also the latency may be easier for us to deal with but it's hell for new players.
Thanks for the thread Stormy, good to hear it's decent.
The only thing I'm worried about is the limited time, I only have like 5 hours to play during the week, hopefully I can get some progress without having to feel like that's all I'm doing.
