It's true that some content creators may inject their personal preferences into their content, and not everything should be taken at face value by the devs that's impossible anyway.
However, they generally share the sentiments of the game's community and what could be improved, etc.
Moreover, when he himself talked about problems in World of Warcraft, he did exactly the same thing as those creators, so it's somewhat contradictory.
