Renathras again I’m not reading that
I'm almost impressed that someone can keep track of all those quotes.
Turns out that if you write 137 page essays when it's very apparent you could get the same message across with a couple paragraphs, people won't bother reading what you wrote. Who woulda thunk it? It's almost like people don't want to have to go through your essay and grade it as if they were your school teacher.
We have located the one reader of Renathras' novel.
Imagine trying to mock someone but then having to write several books explaining it. You're trying too hard and the joke didnt land. Try again next time.
Renathras,
I hardly log into the forums but I do read them.
I must say that your post is the reason why I like to read the OF. Your post really hit the nail on the head with features implimented and overall speaks volumes on how SE tries to cater to alot of their players different interests.
I absolutly love the relic grinds such as Bozja for example but once I tried Island Sanctuary in this expansion I raised an eyebrow and thought the content wasn't for me this time. (I still do it weekly for the stuff though!)
I enjoy grinding content for things such as achievement points, relics etc I find it fun. Sadly EW hasn't implemented it this time but that is totally fine as I'm sure others enjoy those things more than I do.
I hope next time around they impliment relics with a exploration zone and gives us another option to achieve relics such as roulettes that awards them at a slower rate but still achievable for people who would like to not grind them all out.
Great read, thanks. :)
Just asking for a friend: Why do you agree with walls of text that support your own views? Do you not read them?
By your own words, you've told me you either don't read what is written and just go along because you agree with the title of the post, or your attempts like "try again next time" are written because you've disliked the shorter answers from the poster in the past (since you apparently don't read them).
OK, let's use Ultimates as the pivot-point here for the moment.
In this case I'm just sceptical that implementing 1-2 Ultimates per expansion generates anywhere near the burden of implementing and supporting Duty Support/Trusts.
Also, Ultimates politely sits off in its own little sandboxed universe that basically doesn't touch any other part of the game at all.
Duty Support/Trusts, in contrast, has resulted in the active demolition of older content, and placed clamps and constraints on all future design decisions to ensure that they're compatible with what AI the developers seem willing or capable of coughing-up for the NPCs.
Taking these factors into consideration, I can understand why players who have no interest in "solo" content, in a genre that they personally perceive as being fundamentally-rooted in its online cooperative elements, have taken a somewhat-embittered attitude towards both Duty Support/Trusts, and what DS/Trust indicates about the type of focus that the development team has now shifted to.

It's true that "everyone" (?) does the MSQ.
But it's also true that anyone allergic to grouping with other players could also have been equally-served by just giving them a SuperEcho buff and letting them queue solo, and not otherwise modifying the content (except for maybe some flags and tweaks to prevent fights from auto-failing during mechanics like Gaols).
The doomium has to stop ? Bro...after the presentation it's basically confirmed that 7.0 is going to be dead in the water within 1 month maximum after release lol. It's just the EW content release cycle all over again. How is it possible that they actually release less content than in SB or SHB and people still defend them ? The graphic updates are basically just a budged reshade filter. Textures ? Lol, the modding community can do better and faster. And 1 year at the minimum until the next expansion ? And we're on 6.4 ? With no content ? It's dead Jim, I still can't put my mind about how they could screw it up so hard after the success they had in SHB and EW launch, it's baffling.
I'm kind of annoyed at the negative comments about Dawntrail, its just a teaser.
Holy ****.
Lets see how this expansion plays out come time for release.
We know exactly how it's going to play out. 7.0 is going to have a surge of player than do the MSQ, maybe the EX trials and stick around for the 1st raid tier then unsubscribe. Once 7.2 hits, it's going to become apparent to everyone that it's basically just EW 2.0 with the same exact content release cycle which no one cares for except savage and ultimate raiders which are a small minority. By 7.4 you will have an all time low drop in players (just like right now) and if the story isn't good or if 8.0 is going to seem that once again does exactly nothing different to cater to the midcore audience which are the majority of players all the servers are going to be dead and SE is going to put the game on maintenance mode with occasional updates to the store so whales can keep spending. That's how this game dies.
At the moment I'm not really seeing very much that interests me, at all. They're making it very easy for me to just continue sitting it out. The locations look nice, I'll give it that, but that's about it.
Plus you can glean from the previous fanfests what's coming next. Unless they shake it up (which they definitely haven't when it comes to their proposed content formula), it's mostly just going to be filling in the blanks regarding the placeholders.
Eventually, the doomsayers will be right. If you keep saying "this will be the last expansion" and you are wrong in 4.0, 5.0, 6.0... maybe they'll get it right in 7.0.
Thing is, we know perfectly well how 7.0 is going to be, to the detail in fact.
Because is just how all expansions have went.
And thats the critical point: This game hasn't done anything outside the box it set up at 2.0.
And what it does, it does in such a low confidence, that anything outside the mold that has great potential ends up as dead content... Deep Dungeons, Variant Dungeons, Field Operations... All underwhelming, dead or unchanged for years to come to the point of being dead on launch.
And those instances are not even THAT innovative in terms of gameplay and progression, they just outside savage raiding.
In other words, it's going to follow the same cycle that every expansion of every MMO ever released follows? What's the news there?
Also, it would be completely inaccurate to call what we have right now an "all time low." The spot just before 6.45 released was likely the lowest point of EW specifically so far, just like similar spots in previous expansions (e.g. during 5.4 in the weeks before 5.45 was released), but compared to all of those other expansions, what we have right now in EW is actually the all-time high for this point in the patch cycle.
Side note: You also lose all credibility the moment you throw out a phrase like "maintenance mode" with either no clue whatsoever about what it means, or no desire to be honest. A game experiencing a relative high in active players, with a new graphics update and multiple new expansions being planned and worked on is quite possibly the furthest you could possibly get from that phrase.
