Is Zero the most unlikeable main character in this game

I'd rather chill with Zero than G'raha Tia another moment

I'll even put up with Zero's stupid hat tip anytime she has a morsel of an emotion just to kick G'raha to the curb

G'raha any time.
Zero still has yet to impress me and give me anything worth caring about except that hat. I want it.

I love G'raha and greatly enjoy Zero's story so far. Y'shtola is the only one I can take or leave, really, and even then I don't hate her. I'm weird on this board apparently? lol

Zero is pretty bland right now. The hat touching all the time is annoying. Also we have to teach her like a child despite being half human? It was weird. I don’t want someone joining us that we would have to babysit and nuture who is an adult.

Zero is bland but she's been in the story for less than a year.

Y'shtola has been in the game since the very beginning and she is as bland as boring as she was then. You can like or dislike the other scions but at least they had some manner of character development. Y'shtola just gained heat vision and it's only relevant when the writers say it's relevant, if not, she might as well have normal eyes. It's always so funny to me how in the scene with all the scions and Hydaelyn is saying stuff that happened to them and how they grew and then when it's Y'shtola's turn she says "uuh yes, I guess you like knowledge, keep doing whatever you are doing".

I want to like Zero, but there's just not much there right now. Unfortunately, her current personality combined with the WOL being mute means that the two of them need a chaperone around at all times to move the conversation forward, which gets weird imo (haven't played the absolute newest patch, so that might have changed?).

They're little different to the likes of Me'dan from World of Warcraft as far as I'm concerned. At least he was widely criticised though and faded into obscurity, though G'raha in particular was forcibly tied to all the important parts of the story at the expense of characters who had more reason to get involved.

Fully agree. I honestly hate both Zero and the new lobotomized G'Raha who is nothing like the CT G'Raha or Exarch. Not sure which one I hate more.

Honestly waiting for the expansion announcement to see if I am even going to return for it. At the moment FFXIV, story ended at Endsinger for me and this new side quest has not sparked any interest in me in seeing the future.

She's boring and annoying because she won't stop whining about Zenos. "OoHh ZeNoS WaS SuCh a BaD PerSoN" in every freaking patch... *eyeroll* I'd rather spend more time with Zenos, lol.

Hah, funnily enough the harsh commentary aimed at the antagonists is largely exclusive to the English localisation. The other languages are a lot more neutral in their tone.

She's just a reminder that Zenos never relied on his natural ungodly strength and had to steal power from elsewhere, namely her, while the WoL only ever had the echo and no further "enhancements". We're supposed to take pity on her for having been "drank" from by Zenos.

Boring? There are so many ways Zero’s story can progress and take so many unexpected turns. Mysterious / calmer characters are my favourite as they can surprise us the most. Zero is honestly one of the very few characters that keep me interested in the story from patches. Can’t wait what Zero turns out to be or what role will she play.

Just right now...eh, Im not very attached to her. Can always change.

I like Zero more than Graha at least. If I had to pick one of them to put in a ditch I would enthusiastically pick graha.

I'm sorry, what? We're not supposed to sympathize with the sentient being who was shackled to Zenos against her will and had her powers and life force drained by him so he can use Enshroud solely to power himself up for an even grander duel with WoL?

She's been stuck in a world that has been like that for 1000s of years, as has everyone else on the shard. That's their reality, so its no wonder she says that. But she's also shown to not want it to remain her reality. From the start she finds loopholes that allow her to help us, taking apples and answered questions as sufficient payment for fighting deadly threats; and she talks about how harsh the world is while simultaneously providing the only known safe haven for peaceful voidsent that we've seen. Her actions bely her words and I am enjoying puzzling her out and seeing her slowly allow herself to believe in hope again. Her flashback to her time as a regular mortal during the Garlemald fight and how that synced up to us coming to fight alongside her was one of the best parts of the patches so far, imo.

Maybe I watch too much anime, but I really like Zero's story so far.

XD I like Krile, but this made me smile.

I think Zero is neat because she is new and not a has been with no more stories or character arcs to tell like [name of your favorite scion here]

I don't think she is a terrible character but her character arc seems to be proceeding very fast which is going to be awkward when someone gets through the end of 6.0 the first time once 7.0 starts.

Also whoever animated her hat tipping emote was...really satisfied with themselves and have her spam it as much as lalafells spam the /surprised emote.

Agreed. Undead Emo Girl is why I stopped playing FFXIV and went to GW2. I suffered through until about "An Unforeseen Bargain" and called it quits (I absolutely DESPISE being forced to play npc characters ESPECIALLY this one... I never finished the quest. Logged out in the middle of it when forced to play UEG -- Undead Emo Girl -- and never returned). Ugh. Loathe is more like it. Can't wait for 7.0 so I can buy a skip. Until then, I'm enjoying my Necro Reaper... which is, of course, what UEG was based on.

I love people who make snotty posts like this bashing characters but don't have the decency to go into details about why they're apparently so bad. I love Zero, I literally said out loud to myself during her early interactions how much I love her. She is grey and devoid of emotions and personality because of what happened to her home in the 13th. Slowly but surely she is beginning to regain her sense of humanity and it's beautiful to watch, on top of that her voice actor did a fantastic job delivering her lines. In my opinion, I would say the most "unlikable" character is people like you who make negative troll posts without any substance whatsoever...

Zero is just fine, for now. If she remains perpetually the same then that'd be a problem. This lack of growth is why Y'shtola is one of the weakest characters. People primarily like Y'shtola because they think she is attractive. Take away her looks and her fans would evaporate, she really hasn't got much else going for her, she's just 'slightly sassy kinda smart lady' and nothing ever changes. If Zero sticks around, I'll want to see more depth from her character but if she is a temporary character, then she is doing fine.

Kan-E-Senna needs an access to see your location.

Tbh, almost every character is at least acceptable.

I just hated Fandaniel voice for a while, how they destroyed Graha (from Gandalf-like character to e-boy..shame) and i am tired of Estinien always posing as a badass kilier machine. His arc is complete, let him take some rest and who knows have some kids with Zero.



Normally i prefer characters that bring more than just a pretty face. Zenos, Thancred and Urianger are by far my favorites. I don't think we need Twins, Tataru and Y'shtola anymore.

Let Alisaie and Alphinaud take their rest, Tataru dominate Eorzea and Y'shtola marry her husbando. We should go on with Thancred, Urianger and Krile. Then one day Thancred and Urianger leave or die and new characters come in.

Zero is indeed the worst character

Zero has more personality than most of the dawntrail cast

I kinda liked Zero. It was kinda like teaching a dead inside Person the world.

Wuk Lamat on the other hand..... i HATE her. It is like we are trying to sit a Teen with contradicting words and actions on the Throne of an island Empire. What the actual F...?!

Who on Earth digs far enough into the archived back pages to use their first ever forum post to necro a year old thread? I see no reason for this to be brought up now except to harness the existing page count from this ancient old thread to create fake visibility for just another platform for more people to spew how much more they hate another character now that, yes, we are aware, is being branded as the worst ever npc in this game. Trying to flood this forum with ever more threads just for that purpose is getting annoying and is just incitement at this point.
