And there's people that win the powerball, too.

I still don't get why the lottery is a terrible bandaid? It is there to create a fair system, and it is people trying to divert things from the actual problem, the lottery system makes it way more difficult for people that on purpose scoop up houses as for one, and that is why there is a refusal of the system on this forum.
The question is and always will be, how do we get more houses into the game and keeping the lotter system of being permitted to purchace a plot, not all this nonsense about that the lottery system is bad.
We have already gotten rid of this hidden timer issue, that made people bot day and night.
1. It solve one problem, no one has to camp a placecard for up to days before some timer is up, and one less reason to place bots that could put a strain on the system.
Well FFXIV is not built well for housing at all, and making it all instanced is also a terrible bandaid and show even further limitations to the system as it is, especially if you have played games with even more freedom than FFXIV ever has given and probably have been limited by as well, very few here has played Star Wars Galaxies = 100% control.
Complaining about a fair system, due to a ressource that is limited seem more like people are desperate for a missing link to resume the old ways that will create an advantage over other players if you use 3rd party party automated software, or a mindless drone clicking day and night and then after complaining about a sprained wrist or the likes, this forum is full of it if you do a little research.
2. Creating this lottery solves one problem, more problems is in line and still exist, but makes no reason to blame the fix of fairplay.
I was able to obtain a FC house without having to camp day and night, however I got hit by the 0 problem like anyone else, but that is it, I did not have to end feeling tempted to use means prohibited by the ToS ergo the sysem work.
The Lottery system is a fix to one of the problems, there is more, maybe they should actually invent an interface so you do not have to rely on "glitches" to decorate houses and much more that need to be attended and more so over than just creating more plots and wards, they need to fix the actual system as it is first as well, adding 'locks' to move stuff up and down in a 3D room anywhere not even using any walls would be a good start and by it removing the tabletop whatever thing and so on as on how things act.
3. You are still not giving a reason to why the lottery system is bad, unless you tended to abuse the previous timer system, as in higher chance to get a plot due to just camping it out with repeat clicking or using means that is prohibited by the ToS to your own advantage.
I rather click spam than wait over a week to see RNG f**k me over. As I said, it doesn’t solve anything, just giving an illusion it’s fair now.
Explain why people who is at work... who sleep... am not on in the odd hours of the game server and DC dependent should not have the same chance to get a house as you?
And explain why it should be left vulnerable to third party software as well eludes me?
as for RNG... if there is 3 or 200 people in the lottery, then if it is an extreme crowded world, then it would most likely have had its visitors over a day to match that potential over a couple of days.
if 1 to 10 or 1 to 200 a player will win it, move to a lesser populated world point is everyone got to pitch in or simply increase your odds or don't bit on the one everyone bids on, medium/large before you got something to bargain with, your choice... depending on choice of server it is a calculated risk and for each individuel server, you get the same odds as your competitors.
Ergo the lottery is the most fair system and the game is not designet for you to click day and night on a placecard, so it solves plenty of problems.
The problem is the lack of housing and they should had implented this system years ago.
The lottery has been amazingly successful, keep up the good work SE!
I’m a working man too. Yet I got multiple houses legit. FC house, private and relocations on multiple servers.
In terms of people using bots, SE should crack down on it but not screwing over the players. This system hasn’t improved anything for the legit players.
I have gone on record multiple times here if housing is important, you should consider moving to a different server, so.
It gives a illusion like any lottery “maybe I will win this time!”
It still rng and still bad.
Instanced is only solution imo.
Because it was the same before... a lottery of neverending clicking causing problems to people... now can just go click.. sit and relax, if you want to justify and or soothe up on problems, you should focus on people with multiple housing on several servers which is why a limitation to 1 house 1 FC max per account per DC, whether like it or not, 100's of players would be able to get a home that way.
Then we are talking... everyone that keep babling about instanced housing don't even know better either and if you could make physical placed housing on servers a thing that work in old and ancient MMO's with being able to have it implented in the actual full game, then I can clearly say that FFXIV never was designed for or proper capable for housing due to the focus on having to focus on limited systems such as consoles, which should had been a barrier broken alone with when got the PS4 and end of PS3.
You can't just add more wards to this game, the Datacenters and Servers is not something you run in your basement, it is highly complex systems for starters.
Getting rid of the gardens and putting in presets for gardens so you can only chose for those presets ONLY when setting up the house plot would solve ALOT, due to that the server does not need to have gardens loaded all the time in the wards, as it would just be same old same old and each house inside IS already a featured instance, it is gardens you need to instance and you could do that alone by when you enter inside the entran of the plot it would load for the people inside of the fence around the garden, but from the outside it would all look like here is the mist, shirogane, Goblet.... Empyrium... Lavenderbeds and then that would be it... and the best solution, likewise save alot of server ressources to place in the amount of additional wards instead of having it loaded all the time.
When people keep said instanced fix house problem with supplement. Do they realise SE would never do that with FFXIV? Cause that is like revamp whole ward system+create new servers the cost is way too high from benefit for SE to do that.
Server power is nothing special on that part. They probably already have this knowledge easily available. Cloning a server on that, is generaly also not too difficult. For a housing region, its very much like a server has to have 24 instances for each ward, and then just maintains its data within that ward. With proper configurations, it should not be an issue to add more there (basicly just increasing an integer). HUD wise it should be relatively easy.
But i think it is simply that housing areas are very expensive relative to the number of people using it. So they realy dont prioritize any investments here, since even if they would double it now, it still wouldnt be enough.
Instancing could only solve 1 issue, which is that every single interior is instanced, forcing less to be up. But in the end, instancing has no peak balancing taking place, and has other issues in which teleporting is not available. This teleport capability is why the wards have to exist in the first place. And something tells me that there is a lot instanced already when people werent able to enter their house during peak hours.
