ffxi had shit loads of story to them, u probably just didn't do enough of them and only remember the first 5. every city had lots of interesting stories to them, some at some point ended up connecting to expansion missions like a sandy lady that can make healing remedies.Quote:

bastok story is who end up as the tale keeper same as above.
the first few ranks of each nation are just intro to the city and current events. not much story apart from basic hints here or there. -

also the first 5 are between levels 1-25. after rank 4 you start getting into part of the zilart stuff with fighting the shadow lord after that the city stories take shape which ended up at levels 60+. Zilart starts @ 50/55. And you get sky @ 60.
Never question my memory of ffxi. I rerolled on that game over 50 times. and played it till last mnth.
Also only quests with cs are ones linked to the story of the city, expansion packs and class quests for AF. Other the that not much. They did have story though but not much only hints of lore here or there. Nothing extremely epic. Think only quests with epic story line was S.O.B quests and only because it was linked with windies story line since the joker they turn back on was spirit linked with the "hero of windy" who linked with fen to save windy.
