The only new addition to the Gold Saucer is a dancing pole. Meh.
And ofc the tome caster chest piece is again SS/DH lol
Idk after all those crafter nerfs i expected stuff to be easier, but welp, guess imma not craft much anymore...
Bizarre that people are trying to excuse the lack of it in extremes. That is optional content that is meant to at least provide a stepping stone up in difficulty. What will the excuse be when savage inherits the same issue?
Looks like they got so giddy that they were able to make capes flow a bit that they're compensating for years' worth of them. :p I'd like more variety in the tome sets, tbh. The new tome gear isn't bad looking, although it's nothing particularly special either.
It's not weaker, but it's not much stronger either, it only received a potency buff of like 100 per minute, basically nothing.
Disappointed in the new glam and tome gear. The tome looks nice don't get me wrong it's just it was need to be a dungeon drop gear. All in all the big fear to me going on is the cut to gear sets we get.
Lotta balance andies in this thread that also conveniently don't touch Savage at all.
Really puts it into perspective doesn't it?
How do you judge that this specific gear was meant to be dungeon gear?
Anyway, I like the new sets. The mages have a good "armoured battlemage" vibe to them.
Also the crafted gear is a good recolour of the PVP Republican sets. The old version had very disappointing dye effects on the metal parts but they've fixed it.
That Dragoon gear is sweet! Unfortunately the Warrior's armor makes his axe look huge.
Forgive my ignorance, but what in the heck is are "andies"?
They don't like nerfing things on savage day. They never have unless they gave us fair warning. Wait for the .1 patch for nerfs.
Good to see my main went relatively unchanged minus the slight shield nerf. I’d say stop crying and focusing on meta. Just learn to play your job better (most won’t) and then the magical “p word” the same criers hate won’t bother you.
Tome gear has definitely been used for NPCs – certainly throughout Shadowbringers, though I'm not sure about earlier. Deepshadow gear was used for the knights that you fight in the Grand Cosmos and the Shadowkeeper as seen in the role quest continuation, and Fandaniel wears the Cryptlurker healer robe. The Crystarium gear wasn't used quite so immediately, but is used by someone in the Void quests and then for Y'shtola's cold-weather gear, and I think someone in the reaper quests as well.
I think there have been other things as well. I feel like I've seen NPCs in the Ryumyaku gear but can't remember where. Zadnor maybe?
The x.05 patches have not outright nerfed anything in awhile. The RPR nerf to its heal is honestly the first one. Generally we've seen nothing but CD time/MP cost reduction/Potency increase buffs in the x.05 patches, and then if any major reworks are needed, they come in the x.10 patches.
Go back through the patch cycles and take a look.
I won't argue there. I'm shocked they didn't address the WHM MP economy issue. In terms of tank buffs, DRK's damage is fine but their self sustain in dungeons is the issue, and that's a bigger problem that requires straight up ability reworks to fix, so that doesn't shock me DRK isn't on that list. PLD not being there shocks me more, being the easiest to tweak since otherwise they are in a good spot in everything except damage. They should've had a few small potency tweaks.
The larger, glaring problems like DRK will need a x.10 cycle patch to be addressed. Never gotten a big rework like that in a x.05 post release patch.
Potency changes are what is needed most. PLD needs an increase. I'm not asking to be first place. I'm fine with 4th place, but PLD is so far behind in damage that the best PLD players are ALMOST as strong as the most average run of the mill WAR's running around. It's a complete joke!

RPR is so overpowered right now that it's completely unfair. They are top damage and have party buffs. They should not be near the top. Certainly not beating SAM, MNK, or BLM.

Simple potency changes are all that's needed for most of these issues. It's not rocket science.
I played as PLD and cleared Savage last expansion but I never understand the mentality of PLD players seeking more damage done
We are typical MMPROG tank where most of are arsenals are support and damage mitigation and output damage should not be our primary concern.
I was there and I know how it works and matter of 1% more damage output from PLD in general does not impact that.
PLD merely doing 1% less in damage compares to other 3 tanks.
If your group is unable to pass the dps check, it is issue with your 4 dps more than a PLD
A lot of PLD's damage mitigations are strongest as among all 4 and there is where our primary strength is
I hear you, and agree with PLD needing the increase. That baffles me that wasn't part of this patch. RPR getting toned down though will come in x.10. This is the first they've nerfed anything in a x.05 post release patch, hence my point on checking out the patch cycles.
The decreases generally come once they have savage logs to look at. This first patch is for really large glaring issues that the devs feel need addressing right this second. To them, the ones we got were the top priority going into the first bit of savage content.
Havin tried on the tome sets, I changed my mind on them a little. The upgraded versions dye really nice, I think I'll get some use out of them glam-wise after all.
The savage gear tho, they dye beautifully across the board *u*
