One of my FC members was talking about Preach and while I have heard of Preach over the years, I never took the time to watch him. And holy jesus, these guys are SO much more pleasant to watch then the popular streamer who this whole topic is about.

I wish I'd watched Preach sooner, because wow; what a difference it makes- it's like I'm seeing a sunnier side of content creation that I'm not used to seeing.

Really! He looks like he's in his early 20s..blessed by youth :) But yeah, there's two groups of people -- those that are good at MMOs and those that are good at designing MMOs and one doesn't necessarily make you the other.

The best thing SE could do is visit the forums every once in awhile and take note of some of the ideas of the community here. Not all of them of course but there are some great ones.

What are his credentials other than being popular and being an MMO veteran. Lots of us are MMO verterans, probably with even more experience than Asmongold. OP is probably part of the population of people who also think celebrities should be our leaders in government because they're famous.

I hate streamer fanboys always saying stupid crap like. The Kripparian fanboys used to say the same thing about him and Diablo3. All of his ideas were make D3 a reskinned D2. They constantly spammed the forums with his demands.

I was one of the people who said to give Asmon a chance. Now I hope he and his fans go play the next new shiny that he thinks will get him more views. Pretty much everything about him is fake and planned to get him more views and money. Also, his toxic chat and fans is 100% his creation. It pisses me off when he whines about them. But he won't police it because he may make less money.

In short, no company should listen to a damned thing streamers or their cults say.

Although, to be honest, considering the state of WoW I think that Asmon working for them would do them good.
FFXIV is good as it is right now.

I don't like the guy for reasons this thread is not about. But I will give him this, he is articulate and give fair reason in his criticisms - at least in his 'Zach' videos, I avoid watching 'Asmongold' because the persona doesn't do it for me so I can't really comment, but gave a chance on his videos without the persona.

But his analysis and opinions are no higher than anybody else's. And there are people just as articulate, reasoned and probably offer a better depth of understanding of the feedback, because I think FFXIV veterans are more intimately familiar with the game and its systems than Asmongold.
