Unaddressed Continual Harassment in PvP content

Because there is such rampant cheating and such, the past rewards should be re-released. the integrity of the entire game mode has been gone for years. You cant look at a person who has any of the rewards be it titles/trophy or top 100 reward and not have any doubt that they actually earned it. Even the FRC titles are being dirtied by this practice as players are selling their accounts.

Its just like with Raiding but worse. Paying for ultimate carries, diminished the recognition of each player who owns it because you have to question if they just paid for it. Primal first place was colluded for via win trading in season 18, so even first place title and rewards can be bought. even if it was a big problem in past seasons (which we cant know) the cheating devalues the work done to earn them across all seasons.

Square refuses to take any action which punishes legitimate players. the lack of action actually encourages cheating.

i've earned through hard work a few of the mounts and 1 armor set. I would not be mad if they released those items again. I know the work I put in, i dont need to flex on players to know.

Every time this kind of thread comes up, all the top PVPers come out in droves to defend their precious trinkets (and for some, their seasonal infusion of real money), but if you REALLY wanted to save PVP, you'd want MORE people to play it, and in order to get more people to play it, you make enticing rewards that people actually want, that are attainable if you're willing to put in the work.

I could even understand SEASONAL rewards (but not exclusive) or EXCLUSIVE rewards (but not seasonal). Not both. And then on top of that, they make sure that diamond players never have to sully their precious little feet again with the likes of bronze players because they only fall to platinum... but Gold rank? Back down to bronze you pleb. Like, we don't have enough PVP players as it is.. and now the pool shrinks even more.

Wanna really flex? Fight back up from unranked every season. Some can do it for sure, but not many.

Some people are intellectually less gifted so why get upset knowing they don't even understand what the weight of their words? Just accept the fact that you may just have a possibly dumb or ignorant person in front of you. Your reactions won't touch them because if they don't even understand why you don't treat people the way they do, do you really think your words to make it stop even matter? You are literally talking to a rock here...

Just ignore them as the "smarter" person that obviously won't get upset about toddler behaviour... instead feel proud you aren't like that... unless you take it personal and let it offend you in which case you need to grow up (sorry if this sounds harsh, but the hard reality is that maybe you care too much when you shouldn't).

Square is the one who needs to take action against the bad actors in the PvP system. Its not even about just words, its about actions. Targeted Trolling, Gate Keeping, Extortion, boosting non PvP players by piloting their accounts, etc. This is straight up theft of rewards.

But nobody here is that way, so we're not talking to rocks -- we're talking to GMs and possibly developers who need to be made aware of a situation that has been festering for years now. You've been here about as long as I have... I'm sure you've seen the countless threads in the general chat in the past clamoring for Viera, Blue Mage, then MALE viera even after YoshiP said "absolutely no more." But look? Here we are with viera, blue mage and male viera coming in Endwalker.

Even when the devs told us "this isn't a problem" (RMT on NA servers), and they got to see just how bad it was, that spurred them into action (more is needed, but at least it's something).

Or when they said "you're playing it wrong"(machinist in heavensward), the players said "omgno we hate this" and they reworked it.

Our input matters. It might not always go the way we want, but it does matter.

Here's a great example of the problems. Healer just stood there. No damage, no healing. I literally took a screenshot with my phone because the PS4 is pants-on-head stupid about letting people share stuff outside of their little bubble. No connection problems either, just stood there like a wall. Reporting them would do nothing.

I'm mainly keeping this thread going because its activity will hopefully draw eyes. I have very little more to say that hasn't already been said, Square needs this problem shoved in their face and not just swept under the rug by trying to distract with a new game mode in Endwalker.

I just hate that the lack of any action from square simply promotes the acts of cheating and exploiting the system, removing any integrity of a ranked system. might aswell consider anyone who gets on the boards cheaters, I know they ALL arn't and its only some of them, I've done the climb myself before, but there are points where its just not possible to climb unless you are the top 30 people on your data center due to the flood of alts which i can respect more than the people wintrading, boosting, gatekeeping or straight up hacking.

I feel so incredibly wronged for having my hard work undermined and a reward I rightfully deserve stolen from me because of these bad actors who have been allowed to infect the game mode. The game mode is on such bad life support the major content creators would rather downplay or straight up lie about what happens on servers so they dont scare away new players. I find it hard to even play the normal game at this point. I have taken a break and not played during this season, but the reminder of other players with the armor and the continual harassment about not having said armor will not allow me to ever get over the horrible state of season 18 and 19.

I have to step away, square has shown it has no interest in fixing the problem and continues to let players freely cheat their way to victory.
Those in the PvP community will gaslight you if you bring up any cheating, acting like it doesn't happen or harm people.

It makes me sick... Square doesn't deserve the success they have right now if they cant put even an ounce of effort into moderating what they wanted to be at one point a real competition.

They don't have to moderate it if they remove it and that seems to be their plan until they come up with something better.
I want to see their new reward structure before I say more on it. It has been requested for years and people are rightfully mad about it that dozens of alts still take away positions on the leaderboard. You can't do much about boosters, only have a bigger better community, so it becomes harder for them to boost.
Maybe the rating should be account wide and kept as history in a log that lets you collect the rewards on demand.

just because they are going to trash the old mode doesn't forgive that they never moderated the previous mode. They made any effort put in by edge skilled players meaningless. I ended up wasting an entire season of effort because square wont punish cheaters
