Please just delete the glamour system and add a glamour closet system

Just give us 20 more glamour plates. I'm fine with the system atm.

I agree with the OP. They could invest more time and energy into this system.

I talked about inventory in an MMO awhile back coming from a programmer perspective. A lot of people who don't have the right background think we can just snap our fingers and give you more inventory on a whim and it not affecting the servers. This game has a lot of people to "track", you notice this everyday when the servers limit how many people can login at the same time, so it just queues people in over time.

They have taken a slower approach to inventory and glam and for good reason. You have to remember your inventory bag follows you everywhere you go, the game has to track that food, potion, and that token you won from Emerald EX, along with 130+ items all the while you are playing in leveling roulette.

The glamour closet is probably the easiest method they have at the moment to add slots because it's dedicated storage in a secluded place with no heavy server traffic. As the game forces you to an inn to handle this.

The glam plates are likely a slight server hit because these slots are like "semi-inventory". The game needs to be able to pull from the glamour closet managed inventory, almost like a retainer does, and apply these glamour codes to your gear. It's quite possible another 10 glamour plates slots might cost them from adding say 30 more inventory bag slots in the current state of the game. But I wouldn't doubt there is some flexibility here to add more slots with some server capacity and code upgrades. It's like a fine balancing act.

. It is insane the convalutued process you have to go through to use a crystal to add a piece to a closet. Maybe 7 years ago there was some kind of market but this is just a pointless hassle.

. YOU HAVE 3 EXPANSIONS WORTH OF GEAR and christ knows how many classes. Why in gods name does a cap on the glamour closet even exist? Was this a F2P feature that you were going to sell more space on the Mogstation but then the game went back to subscription and you forgot?

. Why is there not a thing that shows me glamours I have not collected? Do you understand transmog collecting in WoW is literal end game for players over there that people spend MONTHS doing.

Please please just update this outdated system. I cannot be the only one that finds this aspect of FF14 to be outdated and inconvenient.

It has been a super convalutued process from the start I still remember when each class had 5 different tiers of glamour crystals they needed to use. They could put resources into doing it but they make money off of retainers and having people pay for more inventory space :( .

I think I accidentally lost some item I had just due to constantly pulling things in and out of the Glamor Dresser. Can't find my Guardian Corp Coat anywhere anymore lol
It's true pain dealing with this for years.

Yup the nightmare that is the inventory system straight up makes it frustrating to log on, since you know that every time there will be some piece of equipment that you have to toss.

And when you do toss something you have to look up where it was from to be certain that it isn't something that's a**e to get again like alliance raid gear.

Not to mention that if they actually fix an proper glamour log it would take significantly less server space that the extra inventory slots we recieved years back.

So, having thought about this a bit and I might have stumbled on a possible solution.

The devs say this can't be done because the glamour requires the system to constantly check what we have.

What if glamour was only allowed to be done in the Inn? The system wouldn't need to constantly check at all times because the only place it can be done is there.

I wouldn't even mind a short wait while the system compiled what it needed if necessary.

If they fix the system how would they convince people to pay for multiple retainers? Just as the housing if its fixed, then people with a house would be able to leave. :)

What seems like defects, are just a well thought way of milking their clients.
