i feel like you need to take a break for a bit
Are we really comparing emotes & mounts in a game you buy and pay a monthly sub for to RL possessions? It's too late OP they're going to keep pushing it and the shills are going to keep defending it, Might as well start renting in-game houses at this point for real $$ They're "optional", They take server space and the advantage they give you over other players is not directly a combat advantage so why not? ya know...just like retainers
Small indie company needs to eat
It's a luxury, not a basic need, which means it's for the people who can pay for it. Deal with it
Just let people enjoy their emotes they payed for and move on. I'm not getting the statue because I hear the quality is not as good as the previous ones and for that price tag it isn't worth it to me, sure I would love to have the emote but seeing other people using it isn't going to make me mad.
Tasteless you say? Try adding some salt next time.
I am not going to consume this bait but gosh darn it if I ain't hungry af right now.
That's how money works though. Some have i to buy dumb things like a statue and get a hover emote, and some don't.
It's not elitist to have a emote. It just comes across as super bitter you don't have it.
Feast gear and most likely Garo gear will also never be repeated either, and there are absolutely going to be people who want it.
That's life.
I’m not sure you understand the beneficial nature of the mogstation store, and I am going to assume I am misreading your text because it is borderline entitled.
1) If your money is tight, you should not be playing a pay per month game. There are many options of similar games like GW2.
2) The money put into the Mogstation fuels “extracurricular” parts of the game. This has included extra housing wards.
3) The stuff in mogstation is made by a team unconnected to the development of the core game. The team only makes Mogstation goods, and these goods are made with the intent to generate additional revenue. These items would never have been made without the Mogstation, so there is no "But these items could have been an event item or something for free!"
4) All Mogstation items are cosmetic. None offer any in game advantage or pay-to-win with possssssiiible exception to the FF7 bike since it allows you to move faster...but that's a ridiculous stretch at best.
R U OK?
The extreme life trials you have right now will soon dissipate. Focus your energy productively onto real things you can change and don't be tricked into wasting that energy on virtual things you can't.
Look after yourself, look after your house, but above all keep your chin up.
"i hate that people can get an additional emote for buying a statue from a game they like and saved money for"
I can literally see mogstation bought items on your character profile on a game you pay 15 dollars a month for, which in of itself is something a lot of people can't afford to do. you are either baiting or are just that upset that you don't own something. touch some grass, comrade, take a breather.
how are you even still paying per month when you apparently lost your job on a pandemic that hit almost a year ago, shouldn't you be saving money instead of paying just to waste everyone elses time...?
Isn't this how life works in general? I mean, Some people have a ferrari and I dont. That statue and emote does not affect my gameplay at all, nor do I mind people having it. If it were an impediment to the gaming experience at all then this would be a valid concern. If people wanna look awesome and have the means to pay a lot of money to do it then I don't see a problem with the creators of the game pandering to them. This is as long as the game isn't pay to win, and if it were so, I'd let my money do the talking and stop playing, and even then it's within their rights to make it that way, I just wouldn't be around to play it. You need to look deep within yourself and acknowledge life isn't fair. It's a fundamental truth that you need to learn to find happiness despite this, and if you are asking this question you owe an explanation to the people that are dying to play this game but can't afford the subscription either. How come you can play this game and they cant? Why is it fair you get to play and they dont?
this tired argument comes out every time there has been a statue/emote release. basically the answer is "suck it up, buttercup".
While I would like the chance to have the floaty emote without paying 200+ bucks for it, I'm not sure why you think being melodramatic about it helps. Well.. I mean.. you're you and you obviously haven't changed since any of your other posts even if your recent GM action post started relatively sensibly..
But yeah. Sometimes things are going to cost more than you're willing to pay, especially a luxury item in a luxury pastime. Bummer that. Anyone for some Bluemage spell unlocking?
Gotta say.. watching someones vid about the statues and emotes and the statue itself looks like mass produced mid tier junk. I would be hard pressed to pay 70 bucks for it and feel good about it. Shame, the other ones were pretty nice.
"I had bad luck and now i want the world for free" is such a great wibe...heck i should start to demand a private island everytime i lose my job or don't have money. It is hilarious how entitled some people are.
And seriously if you got hit so badly by the pandemic a statue and a emote should be the last thought you have...guess that kind of thinking is what brought people into their situation in the first place. Maybe start looking for a job instead of ranting in a forum. Life isn't fair. The people who make the statue want also to be paid. SE is a company and wants to make money. And if you want the statue then work for it like everyone in this godforsaken world also has to work for their shit, we normal folk at least obviously.
But i want also to be helpful here so i share a exclusive trick of mine with you. It's a bit crazy i know but maybe it works also for all you poor fellas, stop buying unhealthy snacks and softdrinks, drink just water and the money you save you put aside for whatever reason. I call it...saving money! And hey! Maybe you can buy the next statue with it.
Here we see: person misunderstands what privilege means, whines, despite being privileged enough to live in a country where they can avoid homelessness whilst paying for a luxury every month.
Statue finally just arrived in the mail last week. The emotes are both pretty neat too!
Just as I'm not going to stop enjoying purchasing items that bring me joy, I'm not about to demand that people feel bad that they have something that I too would like to buy, or for companies to stop producing merchandise. Collector's Editions fall under this as well. I missed out on one for WoW, because there were supply issues with my local stores, and while I might have been sad at the time, thems the breaks and you don't always get what you want. I'm not going to sour at seeing people with the exclusives that came with it. It's not an absolute requirement, it didn't affect my gameplay in any way, or ruin my enjoyment of that expansion.
Pesonally I wouldn't value any emote for $200+, and would see the emote as a perk to purchasing the statue, but I'm not going to judge anyone that spends their money based on whether they wanted the statue, the emote, or both. People are allowed to enjoy things with their disposable income, and they will judge whether something is worth their money or not.
Let people enjoy things.
For the quality of the figure and from what I've seen, 220 is a ridiculously high price, I've seen higher quality stuff for less than 80.
That said, people still bought, I wouldn't be surprised if the next figure was even more.
Idk, if someone wants to float around on the spot let them lol, it's not that deep
Yeah I got my figure a few days ago and it was overpriced. I still like it, and I bought it primarily for the actual figure because I really liked Omega/M/F in FFXIV and not just for the emote, but while I do like it it should have been cheaper. Probably won't be buying any more SE figures going forward.
I haven't spent a dime on this game's shop and probably never will. My wife does, either buying mounts or level 70 stuff. Doesn't bother me. Nor watching many items from my 1.0 experience being re-given out with very slight differences like my Goober mount. Let the kids enjoy sneezing on people too.
When the mog shop first came out, I'll admit I was slightly annoyed by it and had the popular mindset of everything should be achievable in game. I grew out of it though quickly. What does will this MMO mean to most people in a few years? Probably nothing. My FFXI character, among other game characters has a whole bunch of awesome stuff in their inventories. Doesn't mean a thing anymore because I don't play the games. The adventure of getting the items is what I remember and the mog shop doesn't effect that.
Keep seeing the world privilege thrown around a bit by the OP. That's kind of coming from privilege if you're complaining about items in an MMO if you ask me. At the end of the day it's just a game.
Plays a subscription based game. Has access to a forum to moan about not having a cosmetic item. ... Thinks Genshin Impact can't be played F2P.
Do you even know what privilege means? lol. Good bait threat tho I guess. It's an MMORPG. Some people will have stuff other people don't. I DO think they should put more cool stuff accessible via game-play and less monetization but eh, that's just my opinion. I'll pay for something if it enhances my experience of the game. I'm just that kinda' guy.
then I hope you also complained about the Saint titles because those will never be obtainable again either and only people no lifing during the rankings could get them
The emote is free, my friend.
It's a bonus for a cool figure.
Let me know when it adds a permanent 20% stat boost with an ugly appearance that a twice killed Korean MMO has done then you can call it an issue.
