Cheers! Little group that we farm NMs with started meandering about looking for the toughest mobs possible to kill. There's a good amount of mobs out there that are quote a bit more challenging than the NMs (low manning at least). It's a lot of fun if you're one of these "let's kill stuff gewd," people. You get more comfortable working with each other. You test/learn various strats for the different types of mobs, often times learning something that can be applied to others. We've already had some epic fights and epic laughs.

Exploring with your friends, finding a good challenge, having tons of laughs...it's great. You don't need a dev to put up an arrow to show you the way (or exclamation mark, lolllll) to "fun." Yeah, we need content bad...but there's stuff to do.

What is the motivation of a MMORPG?
-To get stronger in any way possible(with friends , get a stronger group ,to be stronger individual ,to have more friends, to get monetary power , to be able to create better thins, to own more thins, to defeat more dangerous foes, etc etc etc)
is a lv 50 stronger than a lv 15 ?

Is there a lot of thins to do at lv 50 ?

To me all the leves and quests in the game look and feel and are designed like they're all the same with just different flavor text blocks and same strategy everywhere.

The missions look different but so far I haven't had to DO much in them so I don't think they offer much in the form of gameplay variety.

well i do some battle, but only leve parties. as in leveling my classes i am referring to my crafts because quite frankly that will always be a boring grind fest. yeah, i know what you mean on being more involved i just don't ever see a craft being exciting regardless of what they do to it.

Viion and others are here becaused they played established MMOs in the middle of that MMOs careers and expect every MMO to start out where it ends. News flash: MMOs evolve, grow, and change. When WoW first became an MMO, it had very little to do endgame. When FF11 was a brand new MMO, it had very little to do. When LOTRO was a brand new MMO, gear that is considered trash now, was the best gear in the game. FF14 is a new MMO, stop expecting it to be a finalized and fully polished!

All those games are old and first acomplishments.

TERA is a next gen just like FFXIV and is extremely polished with content.

This person has a point, and lol at all of you people not seeing it. There is nothing to do. There is no difference between 15 to 50. The only difference is the time you spent wasted on leveling maybe 1 or 2 more classes to 50. There's the illusion of "lolendgame" but really... those armor suck ass. The only thing that's worth it for me, from my point of view is the Dodore Doublet since I like Blacksmith. Even then, this piece of armor will be outdated by new armor when the level cap is raised.

Those of you that like to play through stories and quests might be good, but they are few and far between. A cutscene every 5 ranks and a fight about every 10 or 15? And sidequests that offer nothing interesting but a page or two of some bullshit that won't matter in the end.

As pointed out by the OP, there really is no content in this game at the moment and really, the only thing to do is level up to 50. B. O. R. I. N. G.

SE needs to step up their game if they want this MMO to be at least competitive when it enters the market, come PS3 release. It's already had bad reviews, which would only hinder its already waning existence into obscurity.

Sorry but i'm not giving any high and mighty attitude. I just shared my experiences of ffxi. And just saying what I like. So far you are giving that attitude. And really what is the big difference between ffxi and ffxiv?
races are identical as are the jobs/classes. Worlds are pretty identical. Alot of mobs are the same.

How is me saying I was not into end game because of the attitude of ppl is giving an high and mighty attitude. I have ADD and a plesent perk is the smallest things can amuse me. Like I have fun playing with me 1 year old nephew cuz I personally like his toys. And they are fun and he is fun to play with.

I'm happy with simple stuff. Is that so wrong of me?

I'm not like everyone. Nor do I need to be.

The reason to rank up to 50 is not because of the current content, but for the content to come.

Everyone who says there is nothing different between 15-50 are wrong but not by much.. you have faction bosses and World Nms.

As everyone knows the game lacks content, but as for people getting to 50 at least for the majority of them, I feel very safe to say they are doing it to be ready for the Guaranteed Endgame events to come.

If you do not enjoy building a character or playing with friends to build a linkshell, then there is trully no reason to play at all atm, it is pretty much that simple.

Umm I dont Read it, I Play it. Also what is this whole crap about tera today goign to be same as tera 2 ?

If TERA 2 sucks because they repeat the same as TERA 1, they they no worse than SE, but thats what SE did, they messed up on XI release and now they've messed up on XIV release. TERA on the other hand did not mess up they know what should be in an MMO of 2011 and did it correctly. SE did not.

Come 2015 or whenever when new MMOs come out they should be good for their time.

acttually thats not their point. Its why do we level past 15 at all. tsaying that lvl cap should be 15.

personally DCUO is uo their ally. 30 cap takes a week to get. And honestly everyone loves the game, even don;t care about how much copy and pasting went into that game. If you think ffxiv was bad. DCUO is wosrt that even I noticed it. No matter what safe house your in the layout and npc vendors are the same. And this is police stations vs night clubs. And I'm talking about the actual map lay out. The cities have a similar lay out and minus a few key buildings are all of them are the same. And this is gothem and metropolis. Each mission is set up the same no matter who your mentor is. kill tier mobs xyz and run a dungeon and kill a boss. So essensially you doing the same mission over and over. then you hit 30 and do easter egg hunts for feats and collectables.

And honestly I saw a convention about tera. was not impressed. The guy made a big deal about "oh look you see that tower in the distance you can go to that its not painted in the background" then the dude was very rude. Pretty much what I saw was well every other video game i've played.

Elder scrolls have been like that least from morrowwind and obilvion.
honestly i though I was looking at ffxiv will I saw the youtube title and the conevtion character being played.

TERA 2? Never said anything about a TERA 2. I said you think TERA is going to be the same as TERA 2 year from now (as in 2013) figure it out not 1 year from now but 2.. And you are playing A FGT version of the game, you see what 10% of the game and you are basing that it has tons of content... Please, you may be able to pull the wool over an idiots eyes, but not mine..

Tera will not even be the same between the Korean Version and the NA version... They are Westernizing it (MEGA NEFRING EVERYTHING!) according to them.

So the great game in Korea might be a nerfed piece of crap in the NA. Only time will tell. And from what I am hearing is alot of Koreans are mad because of lack of content in the game atm and the sub count is semi low for a Korean game, so not everything is all positive although apparently they are adding more content soon.

Tera looks good, but until I play something I cannot judge it. Rift and WoW have great reviews and I both those games sucked to me, they are just not what I want in a mmo.

What the hell is a FTG ? I'm playing the full game, its out in Korean dont you know? I'm playing the full game and Im quite far in, theres just so much to do. Instances, PVP, endgame, legendary beasts (these are NM's and theres more than 5 lol)

If people are sick of me, put me on your ignore list. The developers need to know why XIV sucks and why everyone quit. If people quit and didn't express their opinion, SE Would not know where they went wrong would they?

And if you ment TERA in 2 years what is that even supposed to mean? Its getting a addon in April, it gets monthly patches which are SO much bigger than XIV's, that whole producer list is like 1 patch in tera lol but takes SE months to get through it. Theres also Expansion pack coming out in Summer, so by time NA/EU is released it will have all that, so in 2 years its going to be insanely packed with content. And XIV will have just finished fixing its battle system lol

Then you aren't even playing the NA version of the game, so your posts mean little to me. The game won't even be the same in America..... And you post proves my first statement to i quoted of yours. That MMO progress and get bigger as time goes on. Which is something you have not given FF14 the benefit of the doubt on. FF14 is brand new..... it will get more stuff to do as time goes on.... PS FGT = Focused group testing, it's when they get a group of players together to test the game, which is what they are supposed to be doing with tera in the West, if it has begun i have no idea. But i had no idea you lived in Korea, so it's my fault for assuming you were actually testing the NA version of tera, since you are posting in the English section of these forums, and i am sorry for that

Well my reply would be that whatever the amount of money you spent on the game is only worth as much as you want it to. So if you feel like getting your money's worth, then play and complain all you want. But to some people, they might just not care about the amount they paid and don't care either way on how the game ends up, so they just quit.

Either way, we're not forced to play it but rather we're driven by our personal justification as to why we should play it.

For me, I play it because I got an awesome Linkshell going and doing something besides school, study, doing homework and essays is really boring... so why not fill in the time with this beta that I paid to get into? :D

Anyways, as per the original post, what is the point of ranking up? This has still not been justified or resolved. Can I just ask: If there's not enough content in the game to justify 50 ranks worth of grinding, then why not stop the game at R15 and condense all the content currently in the game into those 15 ranks?

SquareEnix, you can raise the cap when you have reason to have 50 ranks.

(I'd be kind of pissed off though because i have two R50s and like 5 R25-40s)
