Money speaks loudly. Who knows, if a lot of people buy it they’ll be open to more hair options in the future. ;)
But more seriously, it would follow the pattern that all other seasonal items follow, and that’d be pretty much fine I’d say.

It's safe wording because players are crazy. The have to hedge a little because otherwise if something changes and it turns out they can't do it or have to do it differently, people start pointing to old posts and interviews and stuff shouting "they lied to us!"
That's how all seasonal items work. Why would you expect this one to be different in that respect?Quote:
I don't understand why it's not just available from the event vendor every year. Shouldn't have to pay real money for it.
Has there ever been another hairstyle that was part of an annually held seasonal event? I can't think of any. I think some people view hairstyles differently than outfits or other little knick-knacks we get during other seasonal events. So, I don't believe there is any precedence on what to expect as far as a seasonal event hairstyle is concerned. Clearly people expected it to be back...
SE disappointing me with customization and hair styles in general. In terms of actual customization, I would give FFXIV a 4/10 on the mmo scale when you consider games like BDO and PSO2.
Like some NPCs; iirc, have hair and clothing styles of other races....but somehow, cross glamour in FF is forbidden. Notwithstanding XI did it as-well. Au Ra hairstyles on Hyur would be pretty sweet imo. I digress.......
Money does not speak, but language does..... We all should learn Japanese "Wink, Wink"
I suspect M'naago's inability to be glamoured is because she's more of a major character and might still be used for actual plot in the future, so it would be more jarring to have her turning up in cutscenes wearing whatever bizarre thing the player put her in - if they can even do that with other instances of the NPC.
It also just doesn't seem in-character for her in the same way. The others have at least some reason to want to try different outfits, but it wouldn't make sense for Naago in the same way. She's wearing practical clothes for her work.
This. As a few of us have speculated in the lore section of this forum, Ala Mhigo is a prime candidate for 6.0's reconstruction effort because that kind of content has proven to be popular and the playerbase never got Ala Mhigo as proper city. If this does come to pass, Naago probably be an important player in that kind of content.
I don’t disagree with you. Character customization is definitely lacking.
BUT, many years playing MMOs that let you
tweak your character as you please taught me that people can’t be trusted with those tools. Too many hideous creations for the lolz.
Aside from the frog, bunny, piggy or chocobo suits we see from time to time, to me the “fantasy” is rarely broken on xiv, and I like how clean my cutscenes look...
Regardless of how people view hairstyles, it's an event item and it seems like they'll treat it like the rest of them.
There's currently a Cloud Strife hairstyle that can only be won from certain real-life contests, usually the more involved art contests where you have to make something. As far as SE is concerned hairstyles are just another trinket to give out.
Glad to see they're finally willing to put it on the Mogstation.
Maybe they will look into the lack of the Twin's hairstyle for the Twin's outfit while they're at it (Yes, I find it kinda VERY odd that we don't get their hair style with the outfit)
They should at least do one re-run of this type of event, at some point. I have no problem with something being rare, limited or exclusive. What I do take issue with is the permanent removal of something without advanced warning. It's why I'm not overly bothered about them removing Garou. I knew it was going and I had plenty of time to get what I wanted from it. I'm also slightly pissed off about the Cloud hair being exclusive to an art contest and a select few people. Not so much pissed off that they received an exclusive hair-style, but more so that it's Cloud's (arguably the most iconic FF protagonist to date), which tons of fanboys would pay $$ to wear in game even if it isn't made particularly well. Idk. Give the art contests winners Tidus's hair or something. FFf
Is There some new Info , in the hotfix only ist bozja stuff sadly.
Still waiting for new Infos ¯_༼ ಥ ‿ ಥ ༽_/¯
If they've said they're looking at it being an optional item (ie. Mog Station) then I don't see any reason to expect further information right now. There's no obligation for them to release it in conjunction with the event.
Waiting on an update.
Would like to just expect to see it sooner or later, but I dunno.
Hoping this isn't one of those, "the more we leave it alone, the more they'll end up forgetting about it" situations, especially after we had to get their attention and all...
PLEASE BRING RAINMAKER HAIRSTYLE AGAIN PLEASE!!
I would like this hairstyle back for sure. I was playing in 2017 but like some others in this thread somehow manage to not be playing when limited items come into the game that never come back even in mogstation form. Lucky me eh?
If viera can't wear it, I'm gonna boycott the release of this hairstyle.
I got it during the event and can't use it now, so don't get your hopes up for that.
this hairstyle looks like absolute garbage, I don't understand the hype around it
If only this kind of lackluster support went towards actually getting better looking hairstyles
Trust me, I get what you're saying & you're appreciated but I'm fully aware anything remotely close to hilda's ponytail, gaia's hair, cids beard, etc will never be released due to small but constant bursts of players asking for them but it's okay that I express my dislike for a hair that to me, looks like trash compared to something that could be better- Yes, I'm 100% frustrated & that's just the nature of it
Well that’s to you. This thread isn’t about adding new hairstyles to the game, it’s about getting the one that should still be around back in. You can be frustrated all you want here but it’s pointless to do it in this thread. It keeps this thread front and center though so it doesn’t hurt to complain to me, but the effort you’re making is misplaced. Personally, I don’t care about the Hilda hair but I don’t ram my nose into the thread about it that popped up days ago cause lil’ ol’ me doesn’t think it’s pretty.
Let's keep making it loud for SE to see we really need this hairstyle!! Everytime I do my weekly deliveries in rhalgar's reach I see the npc using that same rain maker hairstyle I want. Cmon SE, how hard is to give us that after a horrible year we deserve some love ❤
Truthfully yeah, I’m seriously hoping they add it in soon. If they’d be willing to do it even after the event was over it’d be a little consoling lol.
New Orchestrion Roles are in the Shop today no Hairstyle thats really kind of sad
Yeah it’s making me crazy. This is the one thing that I actually want and then I can get back to going with the flow of the game. I only made this forum account so I could talk about Modern Aesthetics - Rainmaker.
We can hope that it comes soon.....
For those who concluded that it wouldn't take any work to make Rainmaker available via online store/mogstation, remember, there isn't actually a section for hair right now on it. So, they would have to get in touch with their web developer(team?) to add a section for it. This could cause a delay in getting the hair available for purchase even if it was already approved. Just something to keep in mind. (For the record, I've been waiting for this hair for 2 years as well, as I'm a huge fan of Sice and she was actually one of my main characters to use in Type-0. ♥)
While it would be nice, they consistently have put past event items up on mogstation so it's not unexpected for them to want to do it that way now. On the plus side, if they go through the trouble of making a hair section, it might encourage them to develop more hairs if they think they can get a financial return on the effort.
While I understand wanting to make as much available in game as possible, I certainly am of the crowd who believes it's overall better for them to include more hair styles with monetization vs. just not making more hair styles. If I have to pay a bit for them to be motivated to do it, I am willing to do so. As it was mentioned earlier in this thread, there are hairs I would love to be made available to us that are already in game technically. E.g. Hilda's, Iceheart's, Yotsuyu's, Gaia's, Ryne's, maybe even some of the boss's.
I would prefer if they would stop being afraid of releasing more clip-prone hair and let us, the playerbase, decide if it's worth it or not for us on an individual basis. If they started to normalize adding such hairs via the online store, maybe they would be willing to expand what they tend to offer.
With that said, I don't actually think this would cause them to release less free hairs than they already do, which isn't very many. Clearly, when it comes to in-game rewards, they don't currently believe releasing a large volume of hairstyles is worth the extra time/cost vs. other things. This ties into what I said before, that maybe this would change if financial exchange became a factor. I do feel like this would be a big win for us if that ended up being the case.
Regardless, I've been wanting the Rainmaker hair for a long time now, so I will gladly take any option over having to wait yet another year to maybe have it available next event cycle.
