Patch 5.31 Discussion!

Basically, the devs bit more than they could chew. That's it, really. It's why hairstyles are not yet implemented for the new races.
Viera was always the most asked for race since 2.0 race polls.

Scratching my head at the disappointment in the hairstyle, sans not being able to be worn by Viera. Its literally one of the chosen entries from the hair contest which is where nearly all the recent hairstyles have been coming from. Theres one style left from those that won - a shoulder length cut with a chunky braid so don't be surprised if we get a shoulder length cut with a chunky braid in the near future.

Also different heights make the high five emote funny. Looks (and sounds) like Im slapping my friends lol

Where even is the new hairstyle? Do we need to unlock it? I really like it.

If they released only Viera and saved Hrothgar for next expansion and polished both, perhaps with 2 genders each, there probably wouldn't have been much outcry at all. In fact it would have worked out better. Even if they released only Hroth and promised Viera in 6.0 players would have accepted it.

They bit off far more than they could chew attempting 2 full races in one go like that.

You can either get it with 1800 skybuilder scripts at the firmament or buy it at the market (it is tradeable).

Speaking of runner ups, were any from the gear design contests added? I know the winners were implemented (they were the Late Allagan, Lost Allgan Neo-Ishgardian, Skallic and Bonewicca sets), but I also want to ask if of the other entries were added?

See this wouldn't be that bad, but only if they don't shorten it in 3D modeling. Long as it stays that way or longer it'll be great and something people would like. It just has to cover the entire back of the neck.

Expert Crafting feels overtuned this time around. Overmelded, food, tea, and a specialist, and I'm still struggling to get over the 5800 mark for turn-ins, getting only around 5300-5600 every time.

Umm, I'm not really fond of the two remaining contest hairstyles. I've been waiting for a long hairstyle with a fringe for years now, and knowing that the next year will be occupied by the contest ones makes me a bit sad ;_;

My only hope is that SE will decide to release Ryne and Gaia's hairstyles someday, but I very much doubt that will happen.

They seem too afraid of clipping when it comes to hair, despite the inevitability of such with their current engines.

I figured the ponytail that was added in stormblood was an altered version of the winner. If not, then folks after longer hair have 2 options on the horizon :>

Firmament is uninteresting to me, always has been. I get all my land/hand jobs to 80 at the start of expac, first two weeks.

I noticed this, too.

I'm barely scraping the minimum collectability rating most of the time and I'm using fully overmelded gear + food/potions and the same rotation that was rather consistently capping collectability back in phase 2.

The worst thing is that the maximum amount of points from each craft is identical to the previous phase so if you were planning on getting the 500K point achievements, it's now going to take much longer then before.

I can't stop laughing at how horribly pixelated the new hairstyle is.

Didn't even bother logging in to check it out. Won the Saint title the first time around. Absolutely zero desire to bust my balls a second time for nothing. Will eventually check it out and grind out the mount, minions, etc. Not making it a massive priority though as it's pretty casual content.

Yeah, same. Got the Saint-title on the first round so I guess I'll just farm Diadem to make some money and craft some normal receipts for Kupo to get the Mounts and Minions.

But good thing the lifted the restrictions on Savage. My Static got our first E8S clear on Monday right before the patch so we could spend yesterday to directly farm it and got everyone the Ramuh-Mount.

So got new hairstyle today, clips through 1 of my miqo'te ears, not a deal breaker because I actually like how it looks with a hat on and alright normally, but yea little bit dispointing on the ear clipping.

New mount as a herbivore is odd given the face and fangs it has but hey what can you do its a herbivore.

New season and bots are out doing their thing thankfully not too many of them so people can get top 12 without worry bots are going to nab them all but still a major problem for ranking this sort of stuff.

I probably will do a thread more in depth at end of season over a potential issue going forward.

Is it just my bad luck or did they screw the odds of winning good stuff from the kupo of fortune?

The loot table contains poor craft furniture, materials like Manors Varnish (which they destroyed the price now officially), old minions and even more rubbish stuff. But especially what I noticed, the chance to see the crown is hella low now. It feels super unrewarding. Dont get me wrong, I dont ask it to be free win and it will surely be purchasable on the next ishgard update (like previous stuff), but come on. This isnt really fun losing all your hard earned tickets to stuff that is CRAFTABLE.

My problem with most of the hairstyles they've been adding is that they don't look good on highlander males for the most part. Our faces are too wide, so we need either close cropped type hair without embellishments or longer hairstyles that frame our face well.

I got my title the first time around, so not worried about it this time thankfully. I'll go at my own pace.

I did finally get a Morpho, though. I got it once before and sold it for 3 million gil back when it was rare.
