Yea had a SAM tell the range to lb3 in E7s because he was picking up his orange parse that day lol while I advocate for pushing personal dps....I rather it not be done at the expense of the other party Members.

Most bosses I learn first so I can time when too lb3 so I dobt get hit by anything. Most runs im with ranged, casters so I save lb for them for trash pulls and will do melee for last boss.
I mean sure, but just DPSing instead of casting LB is a small loss unless it's an LB3 anyways.
You're not wrong, but honestly who really cares that much? When you're on your death bed, are you going to be thinking of all the things you could have done with the combined 15 minutes of time you lost because people didn't use it properly? Incessant complaining about EVERYTHING not going perfect in this game is why they keep taking things away.
And here is the problem now too. I only started playing in March this year, trying to fight my way through all the rules and special things. There are so many! I hate dungeons, mainly I never know what to really do, so I am just going in hack and slash (DPS lancer) and try to stay alive. Someone once mentioned the LB to me, but without any explanation and I honestly did not know until reading this blog that the use was per party!! I thought it was individual and kept using it, mainly if there were large mobs and we got swamped. I generally tell in the beginning of a dungeon that I am still rather new, so no-one told me off... yet. They must have thought "noob". I even did not know that there was LB1 till 3. Is there somewhere a sort of guideline for different class how and when to use LB?
Naa, if you're using it, you are a rare person. Most people don't even have it on the Hotbar. I seldom use it, and I've been playing forever on and off. I like to use it on praetorium, also I'll use it on a few annoying low-level AOE pulls, as I main Black Mage, it's actually a cut in my DPS after level 72 (Aspect Mastery)
While this is rare in my case, I mainly see this reaction from my melee counterparts who for whatever reason think that the LB must be saved for the final boss of the dungeon only. Me, being a ranged, using it on a big set of trash is saving more time in the dungeon then you getting your "hero" moment at the end. And what bugs me even more is when they attempt to use it and the boss dies in the process. I think most people aren't aware that 1st and 2nd bosses can be LB'd on and by the time you get to the end, you'll have another bar or every close to one to use. Free damage is free damage. Use it!
Given as I'm either tanking or melee DPSing, I rarely get to use the Limit Break and the OP's criticism of ranged DPS not using it for mob clearing isn't something I can really do anything about. People are set in their ways and aren't going to change them just because I said so. Limit Breaks in this game are slow to charge, so people are naturally going to be wary of using them for anything but emergencies or a coup de grace against bosses.
Never rely on Limits unless a stage is designed around using one. And, if you feel the need to chastise people for not using Limit Breaks to speed up runs by shooting them at trash packs... you might wanna consider whether or not the other player(s) are focused purely on efficiency or just relaxing. (I work in a factory; efficiency is not the greatest of my concerns running dungeons.)
Using LB to kill the final boss is cool, I need no other reason to hold it 'till then.
I always have the LB on my second set of crossbars with abilities that I use frequently, but aren't part of my standard rotation. It's set to a non-directional button that it is far less likely to be triggered accidentally.
All in all, I'd like to see them increase the limit break potencies. I feel like with the current toolkits, almost no DPS ever want to LB except for style points. I myself limit break bosses frequently on melee, but only once I've reached the low point in my rotation, at a time in the fight where I won't take a hit.
Since people generally refuse communication on average in dungeons, there's nothing to be done as a cure-all to generic willful ignorance.
I also wish that FFlogs would go ahead and attribute DPS LB3 to a players rDPS and aDPS score, because it does take some foresight to LB without getting yourself killed and without flubbing your rotation for the rest of the fight, depending on jobs. It'd also remedy the whole, "who's the limit break bitch" thing that a fair amount of statics have going on. Like, I can understand why they set it apart, but it's still a skill that's execute ultimately by one person, and most super duper parses are manipulated anyway where a whole group works in concert to let one person have a super good parse over many runs, a lot of which don't get uploaded lol.
It still infuriates me that people are unwilling to LB3 no matter what due to parse results.
I would say:
If you are experienced and know certain choke points or "trouble" points in a dungeon, use your LB if applicable to get through them faster.
If you are not, ask if someone wants to do it, or just do it when you feel like it. Even wasted, it's not going to affect total dungeon time that much.
If you feel LB correct timing/usage is crucial to your running dungeons, either a) do not join random pugs or b) have a polite and encouraging message to say at the start of the dungeon.
Finally, pop LB as soon as they become available on any boss. No need to wait for a certain % unless you know something about the boss that might be otherwise (Certain bosses being harder at lower HP, having certain phases like Tioman's wings).
Maybe they need to alter LB or make them personal. Tank almost never gets used, unless it has to, and it seems like the rest besides the healer lb in clutch situations can actually be a dps loss. Maybe since they changed it so every job has a unique lb3, that they could do different things, like party damage buff. It is apparent that using one is often risking your life as a melee in bad quick reaction situations. Though i have to agree, i rarely use them, and lately even as killing blow, hard to gauge how much hp it will do(almost always depressingly less than expected) usually the boss dies before it activates
