I looked up on the Lodestone before it went under maintenance, and the Final Fantasy XIV Updated announcement for SB was made in the afternoon maintenance day. It definitely was not this late, as I recall starting the download when it was still daylight outside (it’s now 8pm my time and dark out).

EDIT: Showing 234.65MB so far for PC. This has to be the first of many small patches.

EDIT 2: 234.65MB was the launcher update. Now I'm getting a 3GB patch.

Mine just downloaded something but it only took maybe under 30 seconds.... There’s no way that’s all of it. My internet isn’t snail speed, but I thought this was supposed to be something around the 10-15gb mark and it would take me like 20 minutes or so for something that size.

Edit: closed and restarted the launcher and now getting something more saying it’ll take about 10 minutes. Not sure why it’s giving it to me in bits and pieces?

Usually there are two major patches, IIRC one for the base game and one for the expansion itself. I want to say last time they weren't available at the same time either, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I've got a 7.5 gb patch downloading on the PC right now.

hmm, mine is 2019.05.29.0000.0000 and has 3GB

7.5 gb seems a little..small?

I had that too, until I got an error that quit the launcher....when I opened it back up, it gave me the 7.5 GB download and a new user agreement screen.

I had this too, then it errored out, and when I logged back in it had the same version but 7535.12MB.

7,5GB too at snail-paced 0,18MB/second. What the hell SE?

Same here. Error popped up when the first GB downloaded in about 25 seconds saying it could not download patch file. Then relaunch and get a new ToS and updated download says 7.5GB and is going a lot slower. Quick everyone mash alt+F4 to speed it up... >.>

oh, thanks for advice. I canceled it then, restarted and it's as you say. Saved me a miss. Was going to sleep :) Hope it won't turn into another bigger one the same way :)

edit: It is downloading at a snail's pace... hopefully this speeds up.

Start download at max download speed, i get to 900mb and speed goes to 0.18 then at about 1.2gig downloaded i get patch error and it shuts down and i have to start all over again...

And bleh this download rate reminds me of dial-up...

I'm not used to waiting for things to download XP

Your download speed is going to keep going down until it crashes and you have to restart. Happens every single time there's a new expansion. I'd say wait a least two hours before attempting to download anything and you should be fine.

Yeah I'm gonna give it a few hours before I try again because it keeps erroring out. Bleh.

I just went ahead and looked for the update before even going into the launcher. saved me time. Tho its going at a snail pace and my net is no slouch seeing as i have corporate speeds. SE is throttling everyone. Seems the launcher itself is 8.267 GB

More bleh. It got to 3.8GB then errored and started from the beginning -.-

On a brighter side Atleast I'm getting a rate of 10mbps now.

@ Ritsuko ... are you sure you started from the beginning? I think it recommences where it left off.

I switched to google dns and that seems to have sped it back up (or a really weird coincidence). I remember having to do this in the past though too (newer computer now), so maybe it will help others.

It went from downloading to patching at around 1400MB, around which time my speed shot back up.

Now it's plummeting again, and I have to assume this pattern is because other people are hitting the same checkpoints around the same times, i.e. when a bunch of people are patching and not downloading there's some bandwidth to go around.

My PS4 just downloaded a 8.267 GB patch. I’m guessing more is on the way.

Ahhh download time. Everyone's downloading a different sized patch and half of everyone can't get the download to finish. Truly a FFXIV tradition.

Yeah from the beginning. It errored out again and this time the patch size dropped to 6.1GB. Honestly I just want it done so I can take 1 more power nap before the maintenance ends.

Downloads are finished on PS4. Almost finished on my PC.

It didn't start download update until i launched game, on PS4.
So how is auto download/patch supposed to work?
When i launch game, it said i need to update client to access network which is needed to use auto dowload/patch

Downloads aside, 7 gig is hella small for an expansion even with these low polygons and textures...

My PS4 icon officials changed to Shadowbringers after the 8.2 GB patch. Of course I’m expecting there is more to come

Unless you are PS4 because we don’t have a launcher anymore.

Slow download, but thankfully it finished in 15 minutes because I have to go soon and can't monitor it if it failed. Now the wait (either for more download or release).

Continually getting "Unable to download patch files. [30413][25008][10009]" even after switching to another connection and swapping DNS, for the last 45 minutes straight. Really not sure what it wants me to do at this point.
