GIVE SCHOLAR BANE AND FIX ART OF WAR MP AND WE'LL BE FINE

Would getting Bane back after the changes really add anything? As far as I know Scholar will only have one DoT anyway. If they did add another DPS skill for Scholar in Shadowbringers I think Miasma II would make more sense since it’s both AoE and adds another DoT to manage.

My own thoughts on the matter aside, I would honestly be incredibly surprised if Miasma II and Energy Drain aren’t returned, if not just from the sheer outrage it caused.

That said, I can’t say I’m thrilled the prospect of another expansion of just...Miasma II x100 every dungeon with a couple of Excogitation if I feel like fully restoring tank’s health or Energy Drain for MP. Though I guess this time it’ll be Miasma II , Art of War X200000, refresh Miasma II.

The cynic in me doubts that dungeon healing requirements will ever be high enough that we actually need to do things like summon Seraph, other than ‘just because it’s there’. I want to be pleasantly surprised at release with the devs talk of ‘higher healing requirements’ ‘reducing downtime’ etc, but it’s hard to feel positive about these things when you’re surrounded by people suggesting you shouldn’t feel that way about the changes

Anything 2 targets or more would be a dps increase to bane then start AoW.

Sch aoe dps abilities are particularly low. We have higher potency on AoW but not only does is also cost more, other healers also have assize/earthly star. So giving sch another aoe makes sense. However bane has no use in single target fights and we only have one dot (that’s instant and can be manually placed on mobs as the tank is pulling) so the added utility of bane is very limited. Miasma II use is covered by the buff to ruin II and the addition of AoW. The dot management of miasma II was a fake dot management, you didn’t care for uptime you only cared about not clipping too early and even that was only on single target. So we haven’t lost much there.

I’ve argued in favor of a return of shadowflare (or equivalent) instead as it ticks way more boxes. We get better multitarget dps, get better gameplay since it’s an extra skill to weave and we’re lacking there on single target. Broil could be nerfed to account for this addition on single target (15-20 pot nerf) which would fix ruin II weaving issues. And of course return ED stack dump with/without mana because this was what player expression was about on sch and we desperately need the downtime weaving at this point.

Also please give whm a downtime ogcd. Be it dps (adding pot to fluid) or something else. But I think it’s safe to say a bit more pDPS wouldn’t hurt them anyways.

I know I’m repeating this everywhere but I figured I might as well do it and cross my fingers that someone with influence will think these are reasonable fixes and the info will bubble up. One can dream right?

I think sch can have
- Miasma II back
- current energy drain renamed(since smn has it in 5.0 and i think the spaghetti code won't allow 2 versions of the same named skill in pve) with losing its mp restoration effect(this could be changed if mp does become an issue ofc)
- deploy off yourself (this is purely a QoL thing as healers tend to be better positioned to hit everybody where tanks/dps usually aren't)

Such changes would mean whm/ast would probably need potency boosts or everything sch does for dps have potency drops.

This right here. The loss of ED is especially egregious. They quite literally took SCH's dps resource dump and gave it to WHM in the way of the blood lily. Looks like I'm going to be maining WHM this go around.

Of all things, you ask for Bane and AoW mp?

The only thing we lost that is worth a damn is ED. Give THAT back in some form or another.

one strong 30 second dot. plus bane costs no more aetherflow (for smn)
