I work at home part time as a flood insurance claims examiner. ^^
My new full time job is refreshing the world transfer page every 20 mins because people seem so certain the devs are releasing room a little at a time. My other part time job is trying desprately to avoid slitting my own wrists because my full time job sucks ass. :p
OP asked who doesn't have a job and the majority of responses are from people talking about what they do for a living.... Reading comprehension fail.
Wouldn't have been much of a thread otherwise.
I find it pretty interesting reading what everyone does for a living, even if it wasn't intentional, I'm glad this thread is what it is. I hope mods don't lock it.
As for me, currently I work 12hrs a day in a factory that makes greek yogurt.
I'm enjoying reading what everyone has to say here too, it's the first nice thread that I've come across that wasn't destroyed instantly trolls and petty squabbling in the 10 months or so that I've been reading these forums regularly. I even learnt a little about Eorzea and about the people in both that world and this one.
Please don't lock this thread, mods; it's an absolute gem amongst so much otherwise discouraging stuff.
i had 2 back surgeries last year with a workmans comp case going on right now. so no one will hire me
im 36% disable
I am currently working part-time as an anatomy and neurology tutor at my medical school. I enjoy teaching and helping others in what spare free time I have as a 2nd year student. It's interesting to see how diverse our FFXIV community is and I hope it continues to grow in the future :)
Mehanical engineer for a tire manufacturer and semi-pro poker player. I make more money annually playing poker, but I keep my job for the insurance and benefits, since I have more kids then a little league baseball team.
haha no way! Didn't think I'd find anyone in the same industry in this thread. Finished a 4-year B.Tech in Printing, worked a few months in industry.....and I can safely say I hate it ;-;
More on-topic though, currently part-time working with a marketing company as a field promoter. Stand around, give out free shit, meet people. Pretty fun stuff to get paid for :D Gives me a lot of free time to play games as well, which is a huge bonus for me.
Full time M-F, usually around 50 hours. Out of town some nights so i can't always get on XIV every night.
Full Time + OT hands on IT support for major school system plus minor software engineering. I should be studying and going for Cisco certs but have not signed up for any classes and prefer to do at home hands on stuff for learning.
My current job? Trying to pitch a commercial featuring:

When someone asks who doesn't have a job, and a hundred people immediately describe how they are employed entirely unsolicited... some people would call that a classic example of a covering move.
"No life?! Who me? Never! I'm not obsessed with a video game! See! I have a job, there is no possible way the amount I play FFXIV could in anyway be seen as unhealthy or unproductive."
>.<
I'm a prominent politician from Hawaii, you might have heard of me. I'm a socialist secret Muslim. I only play FFXIV in my off time.
Eeeh. I thought it was kinda cool to see what everyone does in their real life. Not necessarily a cover up move.
For my own part, I'm a full time college kid, working to pay my way thru school. :)
I don't work anymore since I won the lottery two summers ago. You wouldn't believe me anyway.
Nope, no job. working hard at attempting to fix that.
Finding work is a full time job in itself, i tend not to bother getting ingame at all until i would normally be off the clock if i was working.
8V employ me!
Well, i'm glad it turned out the way it did. This is a really fascinating read. Also, i'm going to keep this CISCO stuff in mind. My brother in law is a trainer for tech support teams. I'm getting by as a singer today ... ($13,000 a year, yes, it can be done ... barely, but i want to have all the time i can for singing), but i'm always looking for another item to add to my backup list in case of disaster (AKA not having the $13,000 a year any more ... or maybe having kids ... ;) ... i'd need to pay for them and then need more money) So CISCO training is going on that list along side Taxi driving, lol. But thankfully for now i'm able to survive as a singer/artist.
Somehow i do believe you. if someone won the lottery, i think they'd probably play an MMO, unless they weren't into MMOs... so someone around here has to be the lottery winner and no one else has mentioned it. :p
Srudent/part time.
Need more hours in both, but somehow, some bizarre way, my friends got me back into Neopets of all things.
So I've been doing that. Probably will go back to normal by the update.
I am a Part time professor and I am a full time project manager at a tech firm. Total hours working is about 65+ a week
Full time student, part time programming intern for a transportation management company. So yeah, I kinda don't have a job. Which sucks, because I'm married.
Full-time game developer.
Part-time archaeology student.
Full-Time Student in Games Audio Design. I get time to work in and around work.
Though it mostly consists of working with software and groups of people.
Not too stressful.
I admit it: when I read the title of this thread I was afraid to open it.
Turns out, as someone else already mentioned, this is quite a gem.
It's been a really interesting read up until now, and I hope it'll continue like this.
Back on topic (sort of anyway), I work as a part-time (20hrs/week, totally random shifts) jack-of-all-trades in a famous sports' store (at least in EU it's famous).
I'm quite ambitious though, and things seems to be moving nicely, so I'll probably end up having a full-time job soon :)
I'm a Software Developer and Database Administrator, i work 8 hrs shifts (currently working for Unilever Argentina). Also i'm part-time college student on Software Engineering. On December i quit my former job and i had all January as vacations. :)
I'm thinking on saving and take a year with out working and concentrate on finishing my studies (i'm kinda tired of going to college).
BTW i'm 23.
