Viera Race "Confirmed" for 5.0! Are you gonna change races?

I mentioned this once before in another thread, but I really hope that if you create a new Viera character, they let you start in a new zone and pick up with the new Expansion. Going through 2.0 as an Au Ra was very immersion-wrecking.

i will but it STRONGLY depends on how they look, if it looks like as they do in ff12 then no, but seeing how cute the nu mou became i am now waiting to see if the fuel viera are cute as sin

I'm too fond of my gorgeous Highlander to change her, but I will enjoy seeing what other people do with a new race. Especially one so many are this excited about.

Fantasia sales are going to skyrocket.

I got mad shivers reading your post lol I thought about that as well, how are they gonna implement/explore the Viera race and the 2 types. I would love to explore more of Ivalice outside instances as well, it fits, without a doubt in my mind, very well with Eorzea.
And i agree with you about Gridania, it is indeed a place where Viera could live/hide but i dont think they will go that way either, they will probably just drop it into the game and that will be it lol (god I hope not)
But... for a second, just for a second, imagine that they actually add a piece of Ivalice to explore as we have this main story about the Vieras against whatever evil is coming our way and we have to tag along with them, journey to the Eryut Village, put aside our differences, and learn about.... the MIST :O and together with the Vieras, now fully powered due to the power of the Mist, we fight our way against the forces of Darkness!!

Cliche? yes, yes it is XD shut up!

It don't matter to me. I'm probably the only one that doesn't care about a new race. I'm happy for everyone thats been wanting Viera that they got it. The only benefit to me is there should be fewer lalafells. :p

What would be funny is if the Feol were Lalafell sized and the Viera were Elezen sized. Probably not going to be the thing (footwear concerns among them), it's more likely that the Viera would be Elezen sized and then maybe one tribe is Teen-Elezen sized (Like Alphinaud.)

If they get the XII look and don't have atrocious animations, I'd be well up for it. This should have a high pop even if they stay large.

While I'm routing for Viera to look good/faithful to its Ivalice versions, I probably won't change to it regardless of how it turns out.

I'll likely make an alt to test out character creation, and splurge on a Fantasia if I like it. But...I really love my Miqo'te, I've kept her the same since I started the game. I'll have to make that decision when it releases.

Before I answer that question I need to see those screenshots...

I'm not gonna race change to it. I enjoy my Elezan.

I might make an alt or two that are Viera, but race change? Nah.

Those of you that are super excited about it and will? Enjoy and have fun! I don't dislike new races because I won't really play them that much, I don't feel like they hurt the game.

No. I never have used fantasia and likely never will. Also not surprised at this reveal, due to the Ivalice raids. It was probably more likely to happen than Bangaa, anyway.

Even then, I view this race as being rather redundant when we already have Mi'qote. Kinda felt the same about Au Ra too, but when you have to stick to at least somewhat vaguely humanoid races as playable races, I understand that options are somewhat limited in making them look diversified.

I am content being my smol lizard. I will be happy to welcome all Viera friends!

I already went from man'qote to Male Ra, and am perfectly happy. It may be tempting depending on how the guys look, but it'll most likely be an alt. Dragon daddies are where it's at for me.

Nah. I'm not changing. I started the game as a female Miqo'te. (With the original intent of actually making a male Midlander Hyru my main, a story I've already told on here I believe) At this point, it's how everyone easily identifies me in both appearance and character name.

Might make an alt though. Just because.

Should Yoshi & Co. endeavor to maintain the Viera's Amazonian roots... maybe. I'm just holding out for more diversity overall. Throwing in the Feol as well could do wonders to appease both ends of the community, too.

Staying Miqo because it would feel wrong to see a bunny in the cutscenes all of sudden.

Might make a new character if they actually make the women tall and fierce.

Given that XIV's Ivalice has been almost 1-to-1 with XII's Ivalice, both in terms of lore and race design, I fully expect XIV's Viera to be virtually identical to XII's Viera. With the one major difference perhaps being their feet, since the devs have gone on record saying that it would be difficult to design an extra model for every piece of footwear in the game to match the Viera's unique arched feet.

Not to be salty (okay, yes, to be very salty) I will be a little more than miffed if viera have their trademark feet and get unique designs but my tail clips through everything in my closet, armoire, inventory, and glamour dresser. I'm not saying I don't want viera's feet to be acknowledged, I just want them to start taking all unique race elements back into consideration.

Uhh, what? I don't know if you've been following the Ivalice raids or not, but even though a lot of the same names are used, the story is playing out quite a bit differently than what 12 depicted.

Sorry I'm super late to reply to this. Work and stuffs~

Anyways, unfortunately I've never actually gotten the chance to complete FFXII so I didn't know that the Viera eventually master the effects of the MIST, but now I'm super excited to find out since I did buy the PS4 version awhile back! :D

It wouldn't surprise me though if Yoshida allowed us to explore pieces of the alliance countries under Garlean rule/occupation that Othard had contacted! Dalamsca is definitely on my number one list along with any other parts of Ivalice we get to explore!

If we really do go to the Eryut Village to ally ourselves with the Viera there in order to help push back the Garleans in Ivalice (and particularly Dalmasca) I probably gonna die and go to heaven seeing Eryut Village recreated in FFXIV!

I can also see a reasoning for us to go to the Viera's home in 5.0, too since the Garlean Empire still occupies Ivalice they probably would have tried sealing of the Viera's Forest completely from the outside world and make frequent attempts to penetrate it in order to gain whatever secrets lie hidden within it.

The Feol could easily be byproducts of what Viera that were captured/ by making an attempt to leave their forest home at one point or another for whatever reasons they had and cross breeding with the Garleans as a result, producing the diluted clan Feol that the Pure Blood Viera despise so much because of their Garlean heritage! Sorry if all my ramblings and such don't make any sense. It's late here and my brain is trying to fall asleep. XD

I might change my alt, but Oraina will stay a kitty. I like how she looks and I don't have any fantasia to change, nor the interest to buy it. (I used my 2 free ones I had to make adjustments)

I have to decide which of my alts is going to make the switch. I love all of them and I currently have too many to make another. My alts are fully end game capable and I can't do one more. Can't wait to see what they look like but if they are anything like this I'm sold big time.

I'd love to be able to understand japanese to figur out what the japanese community thinks. Is there anyone that might have some insight? I am pretty sure that the disign will depend on what the japanese com wants to see.
I would change in a heartbeat when they end up looking like in ffXII! I love fran and we really need more fierce, good looking but strong options for women. Roes are very buff and highly up to taste, just like elezen with their rather weird proportions (not saying they are ugly just...special, i guess). I was already reeeally disappointed how Au Ra women turned out to be...if we could get both, i would not mind the cute ones. But i fear that that would have been too much work to do. I guess they already would have spilled out a little detail, if the subraces would be different this time.

If they go with these concept arts so they tall fierce like elezen?

If they're like au ra and Miq'ote with bunny ears and fluffy tail tacked on (which I suspect they will be, but I'd like to be proven wrong of course :) ) then no. Might make an alt to see what they look like, but won't be using the fantasia on my established characters.

im taking a wait n see approach if they look like or close to 12 then yes.
