This whole week lags are just insane. I get over 100 lost packets in around of 3 hours of game on Phoenix.

I've been having these random lags that sometimes last 2 seconds then everyone starts moving after that, this happens mostly on instances.

I've tested both DSL and 4G connections and both have the same issue, i then subscribed to PingZapper and the issue remains.

Chaos Datacenter (Ragnarok)

Connecting issue

Hi today i tried to connect for Ragnarok several times and again and again game client stop at "connecting to datacenter". Tried tracert bud nothing happened. My IPS is UPC Czech Republic (cable modem), maybe they block "tracert" to be any use. Post this problem on UPC tech support center, maybe they can help, bud for any help i post this problem here too.

Some Frontlines were unplayable today. Other than that the lag spikes come and go randomly interrupting skills and making other players in dungeons freeze on my monitor.
PvP in Feast is a No No with this issue.

This is too much now, and has been an SE issue for too long. Spike lags are occurring constantly in all content in Cerberus and have been doing so for about a month. There is no problem with my ISP or router. Can we please have some official comment on what SE are doing about this and when?

Crafting basic high-end materials with macros often leads to lost items, even with 2 or 3 second 'waits' programmed in, as the spike lag hits and a step in the craft is missed.

Please don't ignore this any longer!

ping seems to be fine but with random spikes to 130ms from 20-25ms normally, Paket loss in Frankfurt seems to be the problem

General Pings are great, but from time to time there are several spikes over the day, resulting in Skills lost or not even accepted. It's very noticeable when crafting, im not trusting makros anymore. Even my Guildmates told me they are having trouble. Here is one of my Guildmates trace a few days ago, right in time when he got a spike

I don't know much about networks and troubleshooting their issues, but i noticed people are using different IPs for tracing routes, which leaves the question which one should we be using, you for example used 186.82.50.9, where i used 195.82.50.9, other people used 195.82.50.44

The moderator trying to help didn't provide any IP to trace either which leaves the question why people are using different IPs for tracing, but then again like i've said i don't know much about networks.

The 195.82.50.9 that i've used is the Chaos Datacenter IP, however i'm not sure if this include Instance servers which seems to be where the lag spikes occur the most.

I have also done some pinging around all of the hops, and found out there is a marginal packet loss between hop7 ffm-bb4-link.telia.net [62.115.138.172] and hop8 ffm-b1-link.telia.net [62.115.116.158], which affects the entire connection going through this particular link - at least for me.

For now I'm using VPN set up on private dedicated server located in Amsterdam to deal with this since it goes through different route, and still checking that one for problems.

Can anybody from SE please give an update on this. At the very least just a confirmation that the issue is being worked on, all we've had so far is a few mods asking for traceroutes. This has been an issue for long enough and for so many people now that it must have been escalated.

with that being said: my entire raid group gets lag spikes simultaneously, and nearly always during O7S Missiles/Abandonment. Cooldowns will reset at random. Did Skalla on my nin yesterday and got four Mudra in TCJ by accident. Still registered and all four went off. Pets as SMN take a good 4-5 GCDs to respond (it's normally one or two). Had 3 people all drop out of Palace of the Dead at the exact same time with me left in there all on my own.

High end play ranges from difficult to impossible with the amount of lag that has been going on of late.

Please don't fob us off with a "we're looking into it", we've heard enough of that on a dearth of other issues to last us a lifetime.

I haven't really been posting or even reading the forums much but to this I have to add mine in. We have had issues with raiding because of this. Whole team starts spiking at the same time. Most issues we have had were during weeklies in O7S: missiles are teleporting, rot doesn't swap, knockback on virus doesn't happen (for example). It's really frustrating. I've also had issues where I have done to a duty through dutyfinder and everyone teleports around the screen. Proceeded into writing about it to the party chat and turns out everyone is experiencing the same so it's not just me. After the fight is done you get stuck with cutscene icon next to your name and cannot move. When that resolves you cannot exit the duty (as in the option to exit doesn't come up when you click the portal to exit). There we are then, standing around with randoms wondering how to get out. If it was a small thing that affected next to nothing and happened rarely I wouldn't mind but this is starting to get on everyones nerves now.

Added the tracert even though it currently doesn't say much as now it's running nicely. Will see if I can test it again later also.

I've had loads of issues with multiple disconnects when I play. We do have 3 players in the same house but this trace was done when none of us are playing. This trace was done today (05/03/2018) at around 16:20pm GMT. We don't all disconnect at the same time, sometimes only one or two of us.

I don’t have any technical stats to post but just wanted to say since the last path I’ve been getting a weird delay. Never happened before in the 3 years I’ve been playing. There is definitely something up server side. Maybe something to do with the 999 inventory increase?

Trace Route to Chaos Datacenter.

Trace route showing extreme packet loss on the 4th hop on my route to servers. This node has been troublesome for over 6 months with packet loss ranging from 20~80% and now I guess 98%(New Record!!). o.O

I live in Scotland. My ISP is Sky.

Ignore the 2nd hop having 100% loss, it doesn't allow pinging most of the time due to security reasons. It's normal.

To make it more clear it's always this node: lag-102.ear1.London1.Level3.net

In your case it looks like London1.Level3 is denying ping as well most of the time. Or it is so busy that there is no room for the lower priority ping answer. If you really had 98% packet loss at that node then the following nodes would have that packet loss as well (because their ping answer would be lost at London1 as well).

That maybe be so in this case. However, like I said also. That node has always been around 20~80% loss. That 98% is actually surprising and unusually high. Also I failed to mention that this was taken on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM GMT. Pretty sure that isn't a "peak" time. but I'm not certain.

Its common for Level3 to do maintenance between 1 and 5 AM, I'm not seeing Loss on that Hop right now.

I've been monitoring this problem since this issue came to light, alot of the packet loss that I've been seeing from this has been coming from
the handover from the Telia-KDDI link.

But there seems to be an issue within the KDDI center in Frankfurt, I've also seen issues from the Chaos DC IP, and the IP that Lich sits on aswell.

Anyways, here is some more results from my point to Chaos. Also, i dont know if this might also be related to the sudden 90k issues that we have been having since 4.15.

I've been having issues ever since 4.2 launch, but today was being harsher than usual, with lag spikes of up to 2 seconds and experiencing weird rollbacks when using skills. Latency shown by resource monitor was also unusually high all the time, fluctuating between 90ms and 130ms when it's usually around 40ms to 80ms. So I did several trace routes while I was playing.

Note that I only notice issues during instanced content. There's never any problem during non-instanced duties or fights.

I play from Cape Town, South Africa and since 4.21's release have noticed a massive amount of lag and general unplayableness during the evenings (7PM - 1AM GMT+2)

Something has changed in the network or routing to Square since 4.2/4.21 and I 100% can say that Barely anything works. Note. I normally have around 145-150MS ping and this has shot up considerably as well! Considering I run my own network at the ISP I work for, I can say that nothing on our routing to Square has changed at all. There is something up with either the servers or routing out from Frankfurt.

All my static members also say the same thing, that the missiles freeze in O7s for seconds at a time at night during our raiding days, so it also isn't just me with some insane amount of latency. They are all in the UK/Poland.
