Sitting here with about 90 minutes until my Unkiu-fitted submarine gets back, i've been updating some of our charts up to information from this point

I have also been trying to style the info a little bit. A few points of note;
- I've skipped the "Rare items" column until we have any to report, which i'm hoping my sub will add to shortly.
- I've taken some liberties with materia such that if a grade 2 or 3 was reported, the opposite is assumed (E.g. Piety II confirmed from SRT, Piety III assumed).
- Some of the data comes from the DAT miners on https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...marine_primer/, particularly that the sectors we have discovered are the complete set of 10 (as of 4.2), and that the xp was listed in the info.

Can you confirm that we can equip all x4 parts from the Unkiu set? Or do we need to mix and match with shark parts to reach equipment cap?

Just requires rank 17. Just be aware that the stats aren't a direct upgrade from the previous tier, some are higher and some are lower.

According to his reddit link, we should be able to fully outfit a full Unkiu sub at rank 17. If I'm reading it right.

Exactly this, I was 2 components short of being able to equip all 4 pieces, but could equip 3 of them already (opted to skip the Bridge on this run).

I"m so glad about this, Hit Rank 17 myself last night and upon seeing how unique the stats of each Sub part are, I'm looking forward to the release of the next parts.

Looks like Mixing Matching will be a lot more thinking than this only Does +X and -Y.

I've only just sent out my newly-level-rank-15 as well, though I elected to ignore the upgraded Hull this time. I've been having a beast of a time unlocking new sectors, so I'm hoping a Surveillance boost will get them soon. I've only managed to get the Shoals, Basin, DS 1-3, and a rank-locked Neolith Island. So far I keep forgetting to take screenshots of anything (though going through this sub, I haven't found anything new or of note yet).

Last results were:
Lightless Basin : 18 Gatherer's Guile III
Deep-sea Site 2 : 12 Bamboo Weave
Deep-sea Site 3 : 13 Bamboo Weave

My ship will be back in about 24 hours, so I'll hopefully have something useful to update. It's hitting 5 sectors, at least. The Unkiu Stern, Bow, and Bridge should hopefully send some positive results back.

I’m still with 1 sub and I’ve been to all the islands except Neolith Island (Rank 17) and Unidentified Derelict (Rank 20) so its either one of those 2 (probably UD) or something meant for a future patch.

If the rules are the same it goes something like

Speed=Duration of Trip
Range=Max Distance Sub can travel
Survey=Ability to find items
Retrieval=% chance of gaining X amount of item.
Favor=Plays off like an HQ rate increase.

So in theory if you wanted the best odds of item retrieval you would want a focus on in order of importance I would say Retrieval>Favor>Survey. You can sacrifice Speed and Range as long as you can make the trip, while it might take longer to return the odds of reward quantity/rarity will increase if the other 3 stats are higher.

Sub wise we have the following.
-------------Survey, Retrieve, Speed, Range, Favor
S. Hull=-10/30/20/40/20
U. Hull=15/10/00/60/15

S. Stern=-30/20/60/30/15
U. Stern=15/00/30/40/25

S. Bow=50/40/10/-20/15
U. Bow=60/20/20/-15/10

S. Bridge=20/20/20/20/20
U. Bridge=25/05/25/30/30

(1)The Best Favor would be gained from doing S. Hull, U. Stern, S. Bow and U. Bridge=80/75/85/90/(90)

(2)Best Retrieval would be gained from doing S. Hull, S. Stern, S. Bow and S. Bridge=30/(110)/110/70/70

(3)Best Survey would be gained from U. Hull, U Stern, U. Bow and U. Bridge.=(115)/35/75/115/80

So currently the "best" Retrieval(2) has an extremely low Survey so odds of finding loot may be low but upon finding the quantity should be decent. Similar with survey(3), all into survey while you may have an easier time finding something it will be harder to obtain it.

I would honestly say that the best balance might be the Favor(1), it's a decent balance of stats but if you wanted to sacrifice Favor for Survey/Retrieve you could potentially just replace the U. Bridge with an S. Bridge which will give you 75/90/80/80/80 so even though you lose 5 Survey and 10 Favor you do gain 15 Retrieve which could be the different between bringing back 1-3 items.

Of course this is all just guesswork and my math might be off if I put the numbers in wrong but based on what we have so far I believe these are accurate setups that can be used in an attempt to getting better loot.

So am I wrong in thinking that the only exclusive item right now is the minion? Cause that’s really disappointing to see. They should have at least had the islands start with lv 5 materia instead of 3 and made the Adventure Sweater mats exclusive to it instead of maps.

There's also the coral. Have to remember these are "rare" drops and seem to only begun dropping once we equipped the rank 15 parts which happened a couple days ago. A lot of places might have not been revisited yet.

Agreed. We have to either be selective of parts usage or make doubles of them to max out one special stat or another.
