Things that have been in the game long before these off the wall mounts are still immersion and experience/lore breakers.
Weapons that materialize from a retelling of a story sung by a bard that you re-visit through memory only? (I'll admit the Four lords and to a lesser extent, the Warring triad make some sense since the former is still around to spar with while the latter is more of a Allagan training program which COULD produce weapons based on them...cause you know....Allagans.)
Mystic mounts that were once minions of these said Primals appearing out of nowhere, while that has never before been seen in any part of its canon?
The fact we can leap and fall from amazing heights and not break a bone in our bodies, but Mr. Sloppy! can fall on his back and die instantly?
Yea...FFXIV isn't the first MMO to break it's immersion to some degree or another, and sure won't be the last.

I was thinking all about immersion this morning, as I walked out of my house, gazing upon the paisa, chocobo, and carbuncle houses of my neighbors. As I rode around on a chair shaped like half of a giant heart, before going to fight a giant time-traveling robot, aided by a dark knight at the height of my kneecaps in swimwear while being healed by a giant burly hulk of a man in a metallic green pig helmet and coeurl-print speedo wielding a moogle staff. Then I fought a desperate defense against the full might of Garlemald, protecting the leaders of the Eorzean Alliance alongside a maid, a bunny girl, and my old pal Haurchefant. (Amazing how being dead is so easily overcome. What a guy!) Following that, I relaxed inside a giant cactuar, getting sneezed at by a pink blob monster and flying around on a tiny plane that nobody else could see.
Yes, I was thinking about immersion, and I basically said "Screw it".

Just so you expect it, we will also have a bit of FFXVI in the future.

Its not about immersion, but identity. If SE start bringing in more or less everything then The game just becomes a hodge podge retail dumping ground
