love the amount of lalas in this thread<3
Different individuals react differently to Zoloft. It all depends on that particular person's brain chemistry. It didn't work for me at first and I had to seek out other medication. When my severe depression came back a decade later, Zoloft worked well. My brain chemistry had changed. If Zoloft is not a good fit for you you, tell your mental health professional. There are tons of alternatives. Good luck and get yourself well!
I have thought of going back to lalafell, but the small body size was making glamour options not as fun for me. Still I can see why many would enjoy it as a character.
Thanks, it works well for my OCD and moderate depression but I think people saying they make you "happy" is misleading, because I am more often depressed than excited I dont mind the mood constriction at all, but they do not bring the euphoria of recreational drugs such as even Alcohol can.
They can not make you happy, I think content is the right word.
I enjoy being smol and adorable.
Not to mention, lalas have the best emotes.
The only downside is the lack of sexy.
Sometimes this feels like an upside. You just don't hear as many tales of people creeping on a lala as you do with miqos.
I am a lala because they are small and cute. I was a gnome on WoW as well. and the short race (that i have forgotten the name of) on GW2 (for the 2 weeks that I played it).
Being small gives you a different perspective on the game. You notice other details because you are more zoomed in. The world feels bigger.
I'm thinking really hard about changing now, guys, but I fear I'll miss my elf.
Become as gods.
Yep, being small, fast and hard to see is an advantage. ;)
I've only been hit upon once but that was by an individual who was hitting on all the characters in Quarrymill, male and female. I ended up blacklisting him because of the whispers I kept receiving Never seen him since so he may have been banned.
*nods* That's why I think fantasias should have like a three day trial period before you have to click okay to make the change permanent.
Until that happens, there is always the option to create an alt. It's fun to experience the game from a different starting city!
My reason is quite uninteresting... My FFXI main is a cat, and when I got into mages I really started to envy taru stats. So much INT and MP! Also, I thought they looked awesome with D.Chapeau and Dalmy. Since then I find it boring to play tall races, and while I have considered trying one I always end up staying lala.
*nods* It can definitely be a challenge. There is no getting around the fact that some gear just looks better on the taller races with their longer legs and torsos.
Yet, lalafell can pull off "cute" like few other races can. In the end, it's all a matter of taste.
I, myself, love how an au ra can look so intimidating yet handsome in their outfits, especially the steam-punky stuff and the asian influenced gear. Just goes to show, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.:)
Because LaLa is Life!!!!

Well, I played with her for a few days on an alt and just went for it. I feel a lot better getting that off my chest, guys.
I hope you enjoy being a lala. :) And don't let any jerks ruin it for you!
Oh, right, haven't posted here yet. Umm... I play a lala because it's the master race, obviously.
But really, I almost always play the smallest race in any game. I like small and cute things, and lalas match that exactly. I also continue to enjoy being a lala because whenever we get together, we have fun more easily than other races. If you've ever seen a group of lalas, you probably know what I mean.
I also like that people seem to approach my character more easily than when I play other races. Nobody bats an eye at my other characters, but people always approach me as a lala, or sometimes I'll get someone telling me how cute my character is.
Also the camera. I've gotten so used to being so low to the ground, it's weird whenever I play other races.
I have tried different races but I always come back to Lalafell, just because they are so cute and cuddly, and yes they make me feel happy. I also suffer from social anxiety, completely useless in social situations and IRL tend to stay away from things like that. Because of my social problems I suffer from depression, so coming onto FF and playing my Lalafell helps me with that. I also feel that playing Lalafell I'm a different person online and I can truly be myself. When I've tried different races that feeling goes away and I think is the reason why I always come back to Lalafell - plus I'm really short in RL and I have an affinity to small characters :P
Because it's fun to pick on Lalas. Kinda like picking on loldrgs and lolbrds, but without the hate. Just being funny at the expense of the walking potatoes, is all.
Easy-peasy. Because they're cute and I like cute things. I liked the idea of the cat girls but when I look at them I'm not all that crazy about them. Maybe I'll make an alt and play one but my main will always, I think, be lala.
Welcome to the lalafell family, Ametrine! /welcome & /hug
I really like her!
Now, I'm a bit unclear. When you wrote you played with her a few days on an alt and just went for it, did you mean you decided to level her as your new main or did you mean you used a fantasia? I'm asking because I'd like to know her name.
I'm like that too. In WoW, I played humans for years then had the realization that none of my characters were fun. So, I created an adorable female gnome named Sparcle and took off running. Had a ball being cute yet powerful. So when I came to FFXIV, I just had to play a lalafell. Sparcle came along for the ride is one of my retainers at the moment.Quote:

It's so true that lalafell are more approachable. We also do feel like one great big family!
I honestly believe that a certain personality gravitates to lalafell. Here, we can be ourselves. The mask falls and we recognize one another as a friend. It's a fascinating phenomena which has to be experienced to really understand.
Interestingly, roegadyn have the same experiences though they seem to have a different personality type. In game, the two group of players tend get along fabulously.
*nods vigorously* Yes, they make me happy to play too. There can be no doubt that playing Kacho and my other lalafell characters helps me get through my depression.Quote:

As a lalafell, we can be what we truly feel ourselves to be. It's very freeing.
I switch between races a lot but whenever I decide to Lalafall worst joke of the millennium I never feel like I need a reason. I guess it's because of how short they are? I dunno...
If you bothered to read both the subject of the thread, and the posts of the players, you'd see a group of people who love playing lalafell for a variety of pretty deep, personal reasons. Yet, you felt the need to come in here and make your "cool" putdown.
Do you feel better? Did it give you some satisfaction crapping on a thread that didn't involve you in any way?
Honestly, I don't want to hear your answer. I don't want to get into your mindset.
I rather converse with my lalafell friends, a group of people way more interesting, more caring, and more intelligent than you and the other forum trolls.
Oh! I made an alt with her and played around with her to see how it felt, so I opted to Fantasia my main to the look!
As for her name, I'm actually still waffling on that. She's still Timandra Hildegarde, but I want to give her a more fitting name, but I can't decide if I want nice and lore friendly or something goofy, like French Toast or Iced Coffee. My old one was named Snicker Doodles XD
While im not a "fan" of "Lalafels" I AM a fan of Tarutarus.
in XI. I am an Elf. I choose to live in Windurst. Study of magic and nature. Someone has to look out for the new scholars.

Whats your problem? He said his reason why he changes his race to lalafell which is exactly the question of this thread.
He said he doesnt feel like he has any particular reason but that it is probably because they are small.
You dont need a deep reason to play lalafell its a thought up race in a video game ffs.
At this point its pretty clear that his response is reasonable and yours is completely uncalled for but thats not enough you just had to follow it up with personal insults you just pull out of thin air. How would you know how interesting, caring or intelligent he is?
And the irony of your signature is just the cherry on top.
"I will maintain perspective and be helpful,
friendly, kind and cheerful;
And always be the best person I can be
in game or out."
I feel like there was a misunderstanding, I think Kacho Nacho believed "worst joke of the millennium" was referring to the race, but Fredco was talking about the pun "Lalafall" (since he "falls" from a tall race to a shorter race). Fredco's post wasn't meant to be negative and Kacho misread the post.
When I first started my free trial, I thought it would be funny/cute to be tiny in game. I'm tiny (but not that tiny) in real life. I can kind of relate to my character being short in comparison to everyone else. I generally prefer playing races similar to Elezen in other games. However, since starting an active sub and experiencing other races on alts, I always go back to my Lala. It's not that I don't like the designs of other races. I just enjoy the experiences I have as a Lala, even if some of them can turn out negative.
Like I said before on reddit, back when I was a lala, people said lalas cant be sexy. I proved them wrong wearing sexy armor, showing some skin. Had many men/women pat my butt then my head.
After awhile I got tired of the walking animation of a nut cracker soldier toy.
Now im a au ra to fit the ninja theme.
A Lalafell is just cute, adorable and of course the master race, although the sky breathers refuse to accept that. They have the best emotes and look cute in pretty much 99% of all gear/clothing/glamours. Being a Lalafell also means you get a nice view of the lovely man'qotes and man'Ras I have a massive affection for. You can also get away with literally anything as a Lalafell xDD
It is the silver part I took offense to. “worst joke of the millennium.”
Without that insult, his post would have been fine. Not everyone is into lalafell and that is totally cool.
As for my barb, why wouldn't I believe that many of the posters here are more caring, interesting, and intelligent than an individual who posts in a thread only to make a nasty comment?
Trolls aren't caring, interesting, nor intelligent. They are angry, hurtful people who get pleasure from upsetting other people.
In addition, my response fell within my code. I kept perspective, was polite, and while I was not friendly, I was not unfriendly either. I simply stated I rather talk to my lalafell friends who are better individuals than he.
Daerborn, being a good person doesn't mean I have to be a doormat. I don't like calling folks out but I won't stand around and let folks try to bring everyone down with their "cute" insults.
Aw, hell. I did misread it, didn’t I?
*scuffs the floor, embarrassed.*
I hereby publicly apologize to Fredco for my reaction. Sadly, text doesn’t convey the tone the writer means to convey. I misunderstood his joke and thought he was making a cute, “hidden” insult of lalafell by changing the text color.
I take back everything and wish Fredco a great day and a wonderful weekend.
