Please implement long, more creative hairstyles and make Au'Ra females taller.

It's not just clipping issues. Like I said in the previous pagetwo pages ago, odds are long hair will be extremely stiff. The picture Alacran posted above will never look like that in FFXIV. It'll be exactly the same as Yotsuyu's hairstyle and if given to players, 'glued' to their back (kinda like capes).

Honestly if clipping WAS the issue 90% of this expansion's gear would have been redesigned because Miqo'te and Au Ra tails exist and clip like no one's business.

Good point. The game does lack good hair physics so it'll look strange and ugly.

I think it's all a matter of design integrity. FFXI had it where there was always a split for Mithra tails, but it was always a complete split; you could never have a full robe or long skirt. I think during the start of XIV they tried to do with making holes or slots for tails, but even then with their models then it wasn't great. In the end they decided that either it will clip or they will have to restrict design. For hair, they came to the consensus of limiting length of hair so that certain designs wouldn't be put to the wayside. Though, in regards to junk like the back fan on the WHM AF3, I think we could have done without, lol.

Unfortunately, that poorly rendered "stupid bob" is like the only hair Asian MMO devs seem to think exists as far as afro hair. >_<

Regarding SE probably not changing character/race changing requests:




I would find it really disappointing if they wouldn't listen to the huge majority out there who want more individuality and customising options for their characters.
After all, we are paying for the game and subscription, and our opinions should have weight.

Even if we can't agree on the height issue for example of the Au ra, we probably can all agree that we would like to see more variation in horns (and especially unattached from the faces), maybe even scales, and faces.
Better customising would apply to all races.

Probably less likely, but a less wifey sub-race would make a lot of people really happy and still not change the overall perception of Au Ra - while being true to the original concept art that was shown at F.A.T.E.

Regarding longer hair:



I get it. The clipping issue. It was mentioned now so many times. But everyone can choose to not wear armor with a collar which would clip and long hair doesn't have to be so long it would look awkward, just longer than 80% of the existing hairstyles.

There are so many options to make hair more exciting and avoid animation problems!
Like in GW2, they have a lot of braided hairstyles which look awesome and it's not weird if they wouldn't move. (But GW2 thought from the very start about the hair issue, hence it is better animated and does not clip).

Quick example from GW, this could even be a bit of a longer braid without looking strange when not moving properly:

Everyone loves the long hair styles until they get a cool jacket with a popped collar.
On a more serious note, more hairstyles would be great. I still hold out hope that the undercut ponytail Hyur get will be added to male Miqo'te.

I still don't understand yoshida's comment how increased character customizations would take away the fantasy in final fantasy... For me, more customization adds to it by a lot. Having characters that look like eachother with slightly different paint jobs isn't very fantasy or appealing. I wanna make a better version of myself, SE! Gimme more customization ;A;
