Oh my god, how did I miss that? I was so wrapped up with adjusting the time zone it didn't even strike me that he didn't actually beat the fight. I apologize for backing him up earlier.

I guess most of you who claim this is an exploit; never played XI and if you did you never did a BCNM where you can raise after dying and hate is reset, giving you a chance to recover.
It's a good thing they fixed that exploit after almost 10 years. >.>
Can't wait for this game to go paid. So anyone not paying can't post here.
This thread is hilarious... Fighting and crying over who has the biggest E-P3nis.... I mean really? Get a life seriously! Why can't some of you people play this game to have what little enjoyment we actually do get out of this. When 2.0 comes out then talk but until then please do some of us a favor and stfu.
It's all about epeen bro, cause how big it is in game is directly proportional to real life. If you don't have all jobs and crafts at 50 you won't get far in life, and you'll never get those irl miqtoes unless you are 7/7 moogle weapons.
Because if everyone else is dead what the hell else are you gonna do? Did anyone notice that Reraise is not in this game? In FFXI you were removed after 3 mins or so, but in FFXIV there is no reraise. Did you think the dev team would leave you on the ground for 3 mins before spitting you out? Did you think you should have to manually return? Of course the dev team is going to try to add a little convenience to these BCNMs.
I think people are getting confused. Yes, it's a WORKAROUND to avoid getting kicked out if you wipe due to the convenience of the feature that's built in DUE TO THE LACK OF RERAISE. Workarounds and exploits (two separate things) both involve creative thinking, which is where people are getting hung up.
I think the truer problem is that people can't tell if people did it the "hard" way or the "very hard" way. I understand that many of you want to know, and I also understand that you want to defend your reputations. Don't be so weak about it. Just post your proof that you did it from start to finish without wiping and people will respect you. It makes you look weak if you have to berate others that have the achievement based on it eroding your sense of accomplishment.
I'm still trying to figure out why any of this matters.
Beating Bowl of Embers on Hard: 5 days
Beating Good King Moggle Mog: 1 day
Waiting for version 2.0: 365+ days
Watching everyone epeen over epeening: Priceless.
So things time cant buy, for everything else there's Click and Buy.
PVE is not competitive. Nothing about it makes it competitive. There's no reason to argue about any of this or to argue who got the first kill, it really, really does not matter.
If you want to compete with other people, wait for PVP and kill them. Until then, PVE continues to be a cooperative effort where we help each other out and try to overcome the difficulties set forth by the developers. If you downed the boss, good job. You could be nice and tell other people your strategy, help other people down it, etc. That's all there really is to it. I have absolutely no idea where people got the idea that PVE is a competition and we can't help each other out.
My only guess is that people are trying to make PVE a "competition" in an attempt to grasp at straws to give themselves a reason to believe they're better than someone else.
"We did it first"
"BUT WE DID IT FIRST LEGIT"
Who freaking cares? Give up on your ego and start cooperating. It's FINAL FANTASY for crying out loud. The game isn't even in 2.0.
So, emergency maintenance today, who thinks they are going to increase king moogles aggro range to the entire field?
What people argue about, what should be an exploit ?
Second best thread of this forum for all of eternity.
Well, it's supposed to be a secret, but I guess it's only a matter of time before the cat is out of the bag...
When the moogles start summoning the king, the party has to /grovel before them and sing the moogle song in /say. The lyrics have to be 1:1 accurate and in the right order though, or it won't work. Best to make a macro for it. That's why someone tried to figure them out so badly in this thread. When you get it right, the king will break the restraints coded by the developers and let you join their ranks. You can then decide whether you want to join their cause or stab him in the back!
This is seriously pointless. If you beat it by zerg the first phase and then Raise / change job for second phase, or you beat it by kill mages and reset, my hat off to you. The point is not to make it as hard as possible, but as easy as possible.
We beat it without death/raise, but it's just works out better for us this way. Unless and until they state that this is an exploit / patch it, this is just as valid a strategy as any other.
The whole CoP PM was a either wipe/RR or AF/AM burn (at least before it got dumbed down) and no one seem to care.
maybe we'll find out if this is an exploit today in the hotfix going on this afternoon. Maybe ppl will get BANHAMMER! that would make some interesting forum topics.
I vote BAN!
I solo'd King Moggle Mog XII, but I cheated. ):
ok...so what is the cheat again? You can die in the fight then have one person leave the instance via return come back in raise everyone and keep going? That's what I'm getting from reading the posts..is this right?
No, if someone dies in the fight, gets a raise and does no actions you won't get kicked out of the fight when the rest of the party wipes because that person is still alive. The fact they performed no actions at all means you wont have hate on any of the moogles, and they will all be piled up in a corner because they were killing the last person to die. The exact same thing happened during ifrit, but his regen was so insane that it didnt matter if you raised everyone because he would be 100% by the time you got everyone up and you would have to start the fight from the beginning. WIth the moogles you can kill some of them, then if you wipe you can potentially start from the middle of the fight fully healed and ready to go.
The only way they could really fix this is if they either increase the way king moogle can aggro or kick you out if everyone loses hate from the mob. Either way, should be interesting to see what SE does with this emergency maintenance today. I wouldn't be surprised if they did either of those two things with how big of an uproar like 15 people caused over the legitimacy of the tactic. I also wouldn't be surprised if the emergency maintenance was just to fix a bug along the lines of "Addressed a bug wherein if you warp to uldah, then ride the airship to limsa and return to your homepoint there will be a typo in the first letter of the level 36 gladiator class quest."
Either that or the bug where the christmas music sometimes doesnt play when you ride an airship.
Whether or not that is the case, this is an exploit that can unintentionally happen. They would have to prove that the people doing it were intentionally doing it to win the fight, and it didn't happen because someone got a raise and then everyone else died immediately after from a bad AoE before the person could get hate, which can happen in other fights, and has been happening in other fights for months. I dont know how many times We had to tell someone to just aggro ifrit because we got hit by a bad eruption while they were getting raised and then the tank immediately died after because there were no mages to keep them alive.
And even if they were able to prove such a thing, they would have to ban like 95% of the playerbase who have done the moogle fight including the linkshell that first posted about it, which I can tell you first hand is a linkshell that prides themselves on doing the fight legitamately and being the best they can. Can you honestly tell me that if you had all of the moogles down but the king and gladiator, but then the king goes big and AoEs half your party but you had a chance to recover and win the fight you wouldn't take it? Some people might be that hardcore about doing all their fights legitemately, but a vast majority would take the shot to raise themselves and win the fight. My argument about batraal still stands. If anyone, at any point wiped to batraal after killing any of his adds, and ran back to the fight and fought him minus some to all of his adds instead of leaving the dungeon, reentering, and taking anywhere between 15 to 30+ minutes getting back to him depending on how good your ls was, they have absolutely no room to talk because if SE wanted us to fight batraal with no adds, they wouldn't have put them in the first place.
Here's your answer: If SE does nothing, then it's not an exploit. Stop crying.
this thread is not closed yet?
*make more popcorn*
Kind of like they did nothing about Salvage exploit when they reported they'll "look into it" and people took it as a challenge then watched their entire linkshell crumble as well as many other server "top" linkshells dissipate once ban period rolled around?
It's already well accepted with XIV being in development they're not doing what they can be doing.
I've taken one major thing from this thread...
A lot of you did Divine Might wrong. <_<
