The problems are not limited to SB content. I'm having a hard time doing anything instance related.

Obviously people want to play, not go outside or do other things. We bought the expansion and we want to play. This is SE 2nd Expansion and they arent kids, they should had expected this would happen and even if they didnt well then they can do something about it and fix it. Even if we have to go through a maintenance BUT PLEASE FIX IT.
Simple fix.... dont offer something you can't fulfill. Period.
Early access is a release just a soft release and on the 20th is the hard release for the general populous lol early access is still a release my friend don't try to down play everyone in EA because you can't grasp the context of releasing content
This isn't a closed or open beta it's a release essentially just not to everyone
The amount of passive aggressive activity and hate in this thread is hilarious. You guys are eating each other, calling each other entitled, white knights, impatient, idiots, ect, all because the perceived launch of a game went badly?
Sorry to the people that took time off for the first day, or a few days after that, but hopefully this gets fixed or a better solution comes before the actual release. SE did a bad, and now all we can do is wait.
This is a troll post. My entire free company is busying themselves doing other content and still having fun (when they're not being disconnected from 2.0 and 3.0 content). We adapted and continued on our own way, but that does not excuse The garbage fire that is this release. Basically, OP is a virtue signaling douche.
OP: You are not the arbiter of what a legitimate complaint is so get off your high horse.
"I am not going to defend anyone here...."
*Proceeds to white-knight SE for penny pinching on network infrastructure and amazingly poor planning.*
You're the dream customer of every software company: no matter what crap software I throw your way you're happy for every tiny bit - and if nothing is functioning you're even fine with waiting.
On a serious note: early access was the 16th with the main release for the 20th. Can you really ignore the reality that with almost 2 days over and nothing major has been fixed that the main release will be anything but even worse with even more players flooding the servers?
Europe and Japan aren't having these issues. I know people who have transferred over to those data centers and everything is running great (my transfer got stuck though...so I'm still stuck on NA servers). I think this is a hardware issue, which is why they haven't made any mention of a patch to fix it. The new NA datacenter is garbage.
I said some people, I would never trump work for a game. I have to do this adult thing all the time. Being a former computer science major I do not expect a game to be bug free. There are always little bugs that make it through. But what i do expect is that if the bug is game breaking and stopping people from playing the game to their enjoyment then my response to it is different. I'm also a businessman so i know why they have responded the way they have. Pro tip, you should use your head a little more kid. Those 3 quest are not the only instance quest in Stormblood. I've been doing this for a long time, and of all the mmos I've played there have only been a few that have had "bugs" of this magnitude. 0 of them have responded this way. They would even go so far as to shut down servers to investigate, rolling server restarts... We haven't seen any of that. So go sit on your Common sense trumpst.... nevermind.
And I'd like for people to stop thinking their entitled to anything. In Heavensward you couldn't even login, so deal with it.
It's really cute how everyone who disagrees with you people is a white knight, apologist or corporate suckup.
For a proper disagreement you yourself should first provide some reasonable arguments as to why a paying customer for early access should just literally "bend over" and accept this current disaster.
And no: pointing your finger at another game release which was supposed to be even worse doesn't mean anything.
I paid for a software I currently can't even use properly - and those login-queues already...
Stating that there is a painfully obvious bottleneck that a 5 year old could have foreseen, is the equivalent of complaining you can't go to a specific area instantly in another game is it? Your "line of thinking" bothers me even more.
Nobody is complaining they can't get there "minute one". They're complaining they can't get there AT ALL. Why does this have to be explained?
Just to everyone, early access is a beta really so chill and shut up, get some exercise, clean, work, pvp, so older content if ya can't progress.
So I take it that SE will not fix their broken game until well after Early Access is over and that us honest hard working people who bought the pre-order is going to get shafted because they didn't even plan for this to happen. They knew that the servers will be congested, hell they probably even knew that the game will be filled to the brim with players and should have gotten either better servers or even more to compensate those of us who actually took time off of work to play their game.
Honestly what the hell SE, we paid you for a service that doesn't even work properly. Either you fix this mess and compensate us for time wasted, or you don't fix this and watch a shitstorm unfold before your very eyes here in the forums and for those of us that can still get ingame.
I totally disagree with you and in your way of reasoning and especially as you want to explain your theories of knowledge in games and real life. You simply repeat what you have heard somewhere without reasoning in the moods of this particular game. I do not come here to argue with you but let me tell you that (SE) is more than satisfied with the CEO . Keep that in mind kido.
Because paying for a game and expecting it to work is entitled? Yes, people expected problems. They weren't expecting solo instance bottlenecks this early in the MSQ.

I won't say anything about the people in this forum, but I'll say there is a white knight in my Free Company. He's probably the first person I've blacklisted that's in my FC.

When the guy said "Man I love the SMN UI changes" when I linked a thread that clearly showed many people unhappy with it, I knew he was a white knight at that point. And not only that he's pretty arrogant too. He claims to be the best SMN on the server or something but that's obviously not true. I know at least one person in that comment thread who has orange SMN parses. SMN will probably still be viable, but still viable does not necessarily mean the changes are good.
"I'm having fun and that's all I care about"
That's a very selfish view point in my opinion. He shouldn't be surprised when people don't want to do content with him. See my comment in Tales from Duty Finder thread.
From here:
Quote:
People criticize Yoshi-P and his team because they love the game; you don't have to defend him like some kind of deity, folks.
People who attack "white knights" are not any better lot of times they are worse.
Expect people didn't expect it to work perfectly. However we did expect to be able to make progress, something which we couldn't do.
People blew it extremely out of proportion? Uh, what? There were lines and people were spam clicking for hours trying to get past Raubahn. Not to mention the disconnects, which we also got when doing PvP to pass the time (we couldn't log in until the instance was over). Uh, what? I don't think I've seen anyone really complain about the 1-day maintenance.
It does seem to be fixed. I actually was expecting it to not be fixed until Monday or Tuesday. I do give credit where credit's due, but I'll also give criticism where criticism is due. The people I refer to as White Knights are people who believe that SE can do no wrong no matter what they do.
Because we're rightfully tired of entitled children with no mmo knowledge pissing about every time any popular mmo has a choppy launch due to over hype and ignorance.
If you can't have the ounce of patience then simply don't play on launch/early access and your problem is solved. And so would be mine.
Idk about all those threats, but he and his team should set some priorities too. People be complaining about a quest, while some of us in console can't even play the game because of a launcher bug that forces us to download 22.7 gb worth of file every time we log in after a power outage.
I didn't buy this game to go do something else.
As for "What did you expect?" I expected it to be like HW--no problems. I expected it be like ARR--when they had a similar problem, it was resolved very quickly. And now, with all their experience and growing staff and brand new datacenters, there's a huge problem, no solution, and tons of frustration.
"I am not going to defend anyone here", right. Your argument is: SE sold a broken product, but you shouldn't even be using it, so you can't complain.
And telling people "You don't have to do MSQ, go level up a different class or explore etc" is like... if you bought a ticket to go see a movie and the projector's broken, but you can still use the bathroom or look at the posters and play in the ball pit!
SB being not the first FFXIV expansion
and FFXIV being not the first MMO SE ever made
I must admit I expect they would be more experienced with this kind of situation
Congestion is expected, bugs are expected
but the MSQ is poorly design, and players having issue even doing ARR/HW content
After 4k players queue finally got in and get queue for dun scaith, because of MSQ issue
then I keep seeing players got DC from boss to boss, it happen to me too after killing the queen, and now I have to enjoy 2k players queue
of cause I get back in for some time later, just without clearing Dun Scaith
I think if I complain to SE, no one in my entire server will say I am wrong
