Seriously considering stopping my sub once my current time is over. I love this game, but the continuation of these issues is unacceptable. Heavensward's launch was so great; it sucks that this one is complete garbage.

and that's just the first of the 5 quest line, you'll spend hours and hours on each one spamming the npc
Most of my Free Company Aura's Edge is stuck on it plus other people on Faerie. I doubt this will slow down going into official launch since people probably have off through then. And please we will not transfer to another world because you offer specials so you don't have to fix your issue.
It wouldn't matter if you did transfer. The problem is region wide, it doesn't matter what server you are on. All Stormblood instanced based content is completely down, and has been for about 40 hours. Going to a low pop server would not fix it, you'd just have the same issue there. The instance servers are not working period, they are completely down, and it is region wide.
How's Early Access going?

Alright, I'd like to toss my two cents in on the issue after seeing all this fuss about it.
I'm just as disgruntled as everybody else that I shelled out for the pre-order only to find myself unable to do most of the content in the game due to server congestion, so much so that I've decided to keep away from the game until most of these issues are resolved, but that's just a personal decision on my part to deal with the considerably unplayable state that the game is in at the moment.
More to the point, I feel as though, while the outrage is certainly justified, some of the complaints levied are without some merit and are simply the knee-jerk reactions of a playerbase who is dissatisfied that they're not having things their way, which is only a reasonable argument to a fault when voicing complaints about a product or service that they're paying for. If anyone paid any attention whatsoever to the initial announcements just before/at the very start of Early Access, Yoshida and his dev team seemed to have done everything they felt they could to minimize the risk of problems occurring due to server congestion – the server move and the inclusion of instanced world map areas being evidence of this fact. Not only that, but Yoshida himself, most likely by proxy of a translator, has, indeed, addressed the issue that people have been having with instanced content a couple of days ago and attempted to implement some possible solutions, all of which have ultimately failed mind you, but the effort has at least been demonstrated.
Considering that the dev team has tried and failed in this regard, I feel that we can glean a potential reason for why this problem exists in the first place, and why it continues to persist after it's been looked into (and is probably still being investigated, even if we're not being informed as to what's currently being done about it): After having implemented a few preliminary controls for issues based on server congestion, perhaps these widespread problems have proven to be issues that the dev team simply did not expect to happen, and, of course, they're probably scrambling over each other trying to figure out how in the world this could have happened and what can be done about fixing it without inconveniencing the rest of the players who aren't having problems with this, as few in number as they might be. Don't get me wrong, I'm with those who are saying that they really should consider just shutting down the servers for maintenance to try and resolve these issues, but since the devs have acknowledged in another post elsewhere on the forums that the issues with Susano is going to require a client/launcher patch that'll take a few days to create and implement, they're probably content to at least keep the servers live in the meantime while they develop another solution in the background, at which time they will most likely take the servers down for maintenance when they can roll out and test the fixes for themselves.
As I said, I completely understand the outrage and I share it to a certain degree myself as well, but have a little faith and patience. This problem's already going to be a huge, black stain on the game's reputation as it is and I'm sure Yoshida and his team are well aware of it – this will probably go down as one of the worst moments in the game's lifespan for sure, but it'll most likely get resolved soon enough. If it doesn't, then, hey, I'll eat crow for everything I've said in this post, but, until then, all we can do is wait and watch. Continuing to fuss about it isn't resolving things any faster, though.
IS IT SO HARD TO GET AN ANSWER FROM SE AT LEAST? 48 HOURS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, AND STILL HAVENT GOT A SOLUTION
people at the ruby knew they couldnt play meanwhile im sitting here for 48 hours hoping for the chance to play with not a yes or no, somehow i feel like the majority of players who are stuck should be a bigger priority
They got 8 lanes of traffic turning down a one lane dirt road and they didn't expect this kind of congestion?
Queue for solo duties pls. I'll take "Estimated wait time: 16 hours" over sitting here pressing the button for the same 16 hours...
I've been one of those people who has gave SE the benefit of the doubt and has said things like "MMO's are known for rough launches", "give it some time, they'll fix it", but the fact we just passed the 48 hour mark and haven't even gotten any type of word from SE on if they're going to fix it or not is ridiculous. A day and a half ago Yoshi P said "try again later" and that's all we've gotten. World of Warcraft for example has been known for rough launches over the years, but it's mostly been queue times and lag issues, they've never had an expansion completely bottle necked from the very beginning and even with their queue times and lag issues they've ALWAYS given constant updates and time frames for when things should be fixed. SE is just letting their player base sit there mad without even given them any acknowledgment. Definitely not a good look to alienate your player base like this. At a minimum just TELL US SOMETHING.
I transfered to Omega and did it immediately. No crowd, no wait. Also the transfer was instant and free—even from Mateus, so it didn't matter that I wasn't coming from a congested world.
I don't want to leave my sever where my house and static are. I just want to play the game.
That's not true. Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor both had massive bottlenecks right at the beginning very similar to the issue players are having here. The difference though is that Blizzard WAS timely about responding, whereas SE seems to think radio silence is the best policy.
True, I did forget about Frostfire Ridge, probably because Blizzard fixed it so fast there was nothing to remember lol. I don't remember the MoP bottleneck though, I remember playing through Jade Forest from launch all the way through the night. I played Horde, was it an Alliance thing?
