Knowing what people do on balmung and mateus... hard no
That would look horrible on a male, it's designed for the female body, males and females have different curves that makes outfits more suited to those body types, not to mention alot of female gear is designed with a woman's breast in mind, something the male body differs in.
Some gear looks good as unisex like the rebel coat but gear that is obviously meant for male or female just looks dumb on the opposite gender it was intended for.
I don't know if you've only ever seen one (1) female and one (1) male in your life, but there's a lot of variety when it comes to body type, even if the game doesn't show that. And also at least a few of the females of the races in this game have hardly any chest at all. Try again.
I would be here for it tbh. I've always been more into the more modern looking glamours in the game anyway so having more pieces to mix and match is always great. And tbh, I don't find the whole aesthetic trashy or too generic, it's optional to have those glams in game. And I don't really like how some people have said that it would too fetishy or too Korean MMO.
FFXIV is has a lot of fanservice anyway and there's plenty that break immersion so why not? Honestly surprised we don't have more of it.
Knowing what people do in limsa on every server, hard no.
No more fetish gear, no gear that is specifically for children, and definitely no gear that mixes the two. You want a uniform for characters in study? Do the scholasticate quest. I'm also just tired of seeing glamours that I'd expect to see walking around in my local mall.
Maybe that "catgirl japanese schoolgirl" would kick your manly man butt and leave you crying on the ground like a baby.
Aesthetics mean nothing and maybe I want my character to look a certain way while she's crushing her enemies underfoot. Deal with it!
Lots of big talk for someone who doesn't even raid. What do you even play this game for? I'll dress up how I like thank you very much!
No I've never seen a male or female at all, I've never even looked in a mirror before either, maybe you can drop some wisdom on me , is a male or female different flavors of Pepsi or are they a Coke brand?
Plus I totally agree with u that we should ignore fashionable biology and common sense even if some races like lala have small breast, they don't count right, we can also ignore those races with larger breast to like Highlander and Roe women and the fact the game has a breast slider, plus those small breasted races they don't have other differences in the body that separate male and female thus making attire look different and suit that body type better, not in game or irl.
But hey you're the professor here so plz enlighten me with your wisdom that ignores basic common sense, I'm listening plz teach on.
I'm pretty sure we can already make glamours in these styles
You know what glamours we don't have? Gothic Nuns- I'm 100% down for gothic nuns with lace veils

No idea why Monk was female only and Dark Knight was male only. At least White Mage was unisex.
There already is cross-dressing in the game tho.
Altho yeah they'd probably add a schoolboy uniform then too, and at that point the problem would moreso be upset Westerners complaining because the female characters aren't wearing pants.
I see it all the time in other MMO's when female characters wear skirts and people start throwing a tantrum about it and how they're not wearing pants.
Like okay, skirts are more revealing than pants....
THEN GIVE THE MALE CHARACTERS SKIRTS INSTEAD BECAUSE PANTS ARE FREAKING BORING ESPECIALLY WHEN 99% OF THE LEG PIECES ARE PANTS STOP DEMANDING THAT FEMALE CHARACTERS FASHION BECOME AS MONOTONOUS AS THE MALE CHARACTERS.
As a BLM player I approve.
For one, the Online Store profits are confirmed to go into development, for another, in this case. a paywall would ensure that only those that really want it and could actively use it are more likely to be seen with with it and thus lessen the population of adventures actually wearing it for those that care about immersion (though TBH I find that argument having some gatekeeping vibes as there ARE people that want to wear more silly outfits like the snowman/frog/moogle costumes and literally anything from the Gold Saucer).
That said regarding immersion in general I actually think RP spaces might be more likely to retain it if only because the people there would likely have a reason to be using certain gear and because if you're RPing with others, that would already ensure you try to make your character as much a part of the world as you can, making the use of some glamours less common outside of certain easy to avoid areas like the Quicksand.
Plus the Online Store already sells a Schoolgirl uniform, which would also play a factor into whether or not SE makes an outfit explicitly in the same archtype of what OP wants as opposed to something that would have other uses like the Sailor shirt
the traditional uniform i was forced to wear at school had a calf length skirt and ugly shoes, be careful what you wish for
I still want this uniform. I'm sorry. I just feel like the sailor outfit doesn't quite cut it. Maybe there can be two options? One with pants and things like that for the males but still be unisex so either can wear both? Come on!
I have decided against letting my son play this game now with all these glamour items. It has gone too far!
More outfits to ruin immersion? No, thanks.
Southern Seas Skirt
Scion Adventurer's Jacket
You are welcome.
some of you need to have your hard drives checked
The traditional uniforms are all pretty standard, including the skirt length, so it could vary depending on how tall the girl wearing it is. Most I've seen were usually right at, or slightly below/above the knee. Always ugly shoes. Always ugly blazers covering a plain white shirt (which was actually quite nice). Generally speaking though, a traditional uniform is far from what a google search will bring up, and probably what the OP has in mind.
This is definitely really close. SCH AF legs probably create the closest to the school girl outfit, and go very well with the Scion's adventurer's jacket. Both the ARR and HW sets have thigh high socks made from wool or cotton instead of the stockings made from nylon or silk the other skirts in the game use. Problem is you have to play SCH AND you have to be female. I think there might be another skirt or two that can be worn by others that don't have the restrictions, but they don't look as good and/or dye as well.
The skirt the game lacks is one with a plaid pattern, and I am not sure if the devs would deliberately release this kind of outfit as it is highly sexualized. However, players creating the look using different items is a different story. Now I am quite sure someone will say, "But we have the 2B bottoms. Sooo... sup?" To that, I have no argument. I just know that such contradictions is something this dev team is known for. If there is some angle, it would probably be that the 2B bottoms are based on a character, while the school girl outfit is based on sex.
I don't think this is appropriate...
