This also helped me.
same issue ;-;
The safe DSN listed 2 posts above worked perfectly for me. It's great advice.
seriously this shit just needs to work if i wanted to play with connection issues id just buy a god damed PC. after waiting and reconfiguring my dsn i still cant update thanks Dev team for rushing and forgetting to make things work
I'm very upset:( I come home to relax and play the game and I can't even update the game to play
Having the same trouble tried all methods still nothing..anyone else still having this issue
I tried the safe DSN fix but it did not work for me. Now I am not sure what to do. And as far as I can tell, SE has not even acknowledged there is an issue yet...?
this sucks S.E. shouldn't even be focused on SB they should be focused on updating and upgrading their NA servers every patch since 3.0 i have had to throttle my internet speeds just to get it to work... i don't even run fast internet compared to fiber networks offering upwards of 100 Mbps down...... ridiculous S.E. fix it plz i love the FF series.
I tried everything with the DNS.. but it never works.. I am a Mac user too. FFXIV chat support gives me nothing but useless answers x.x
Same issue for me on PS4. The DNS info provided on page 3 of this thread worked for me, but this B.S. really should not be necessary SE.
With many of us having had the issues a few times with patch updates (happened on my PS4 and then my PS4 Pro) and now this bs.
Stop cheaping out SE and get rid of your pos update launcher which is the issue, not our isps..
The launcher is very out dated software
PC side had same issue after rebooting Main PC today. I tried everything suggested, Change DNS, reset router, deleted files, change boot config from 0 to 1.....Nothing...Until I stumbled on a suggestion to use a Mobile hotspot with unlimited data. (did that Nothing and 1MBs speeds for 15 gigs left would have been FML) However I just switched from wired to wireless for my connection and it solved the issue.
I figured I would share how I fixed mine just in case. This issue seems to have many different solutions based on what each persons computer might be getting stuck on.
