No commendations.

Commendations are a weird thing. Sometimes you play amazingly, literally carrying/saving the entire party, and nothing.

Other times you do the bare minimum or die stupidly and get multiple.

You cannot predict the whims of commendation-giving.

As a healer, this is me everyday. I'm good if I get one.
Yesterday I got Kefka NM with some new people. On one push everyone fell but a tank, melee dps and me. I kept us alive, rezzed everyone, and basically got us a clear in on shot. 0 commendations.

I feel they are giving less lately.
I always give one at the end, unless the party was truly awful (mostly bad attitude).
But I got to say I get more when healing than other roles.

I think I've gotten more commendations from leveling DNC in HoH then I have with any of my other DPS classes in the past few months.

Maybe people like my conservative DNC glam or something.

It always makes me wonder if in these cases the wrong healer/tank/dps got the commendations. That they didn't see who saved them, only that a healer did it. I dunno though.

For me, it's never been about how someone plays their job.
Yoshida had said that commendations were for helpful players, so that's how I use them. If someone went out of their way to be helpful, patient, or kind, I commend them.
If no one stood out in that manner I just don't give it out.

I've never felt entitled to get anyone's commendation.

It just depends. If the run is relatively quick and normal, someone to make me laugh gets the com. When I'm BLM and there's a stack marker on me during leylines, I want to com everyone who came over to me. When tanking pre-tp removal anyone who goaded me got a thank you and a com.

Or on the other end, when a mentor was explaining mechanics to me back in HW and they died instantly on the first mechanic and typed in all caps "DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO" I died next laughing too hard. He got the com at the end.

I've leveled all the jobs to 70, getting there to 80 on them all now. I usually main on one of the tank jobs, rotating through them as I earn the achievement mounts. Commendations Received: 5,385.

Make me your dance partner and you get my commend.. :)

I always try to hand out a comm at the end of the dungeon if anybody stays in the instance long enough for me to actually do it...and they weren't the player who pissed me off. Other than that, as a dps I feel little sympathy for people who post seemingly expecting comms. Complaining about a nightmare DF run, though, goes in the DF thread.

get better. As the Warrior of Light and Darkness, I often get 2 or 6 comms when running content.

As I always run with my hubby I can't get 3 and 7...

I think you've said all there is to say. It just comes down to the whims of the other players. I've gotten multiple comms on times that I know I screwed up. I've also gotten no comms on times when I saved the group multiple times. I try not to think about it much. To the OP, I'd say to just ignore that run and just continue to do your best.
