Request to unlock Hempen set styles

As awesome as it would be, i cant help but feel that all the development time that would be put into this should instead be used on newer glamours.
Just my two cents on this

A quick ideal to be made over this in case comm team is still watching.

Each race already has one set of racial specific gear. Along side this, we also already have sex specific gear/glamour.

Each Hempen set could be potentially crafted and/or offered through select city vender.

An argument can and will always be made for unique. The problem is, many want to be the race the pick. Most are Not going to race change for an underwear selection. Nor should they play as a race they do not wish to for said items.

One extra note to make, I see little reason why highlander and midlander hyur could not share said hempen items considering they are still the same race.

I am totally for being allowed to wear other races underwear! I love the simple casual look most of the tops give. The elezen one makes a gorgeous dress paired with a skirt too. Please!

I also add my vote for unlocking the race variants of the hempen sets for all races!

It definitely debatable, and only the dev team knows for sure, but it is arguable that refitting these specific clothes would be easier than a completely new glamour.
Either way, I'm on the devs side in the sense that I support making their lives easier. This being said though, I would definitely welcome both the hempen styles or/and new glam happily without complaint. :o

Please unlock it!, Any one should be layers to use these pieces if you want :)

In the end, it's up to the team to determine what development resources they can spare -- we can't really make too many assumptions about whether implementing one thing would detract from the implementation of others, because we don't know too much about how their day-to-day work is structured or distributed across the team.

That said, I'm in favour of unlocking race and gender restrictions on as many gear pieces as possible. The hempen sets have been a particular focus for people, so that would be a very good start, and I hope that the team will also work on other race or gender-locked sets to whatever extent they're able.

If the devs have time, it would be nice to unlock the varieties for all races since it would allow for more individual uniqueness. For example, right now Elezen females have access to a lightweight, but still classy, top in the Hempen Camise. Most of the other races end up with either a much more risque and/or basic look. So it would be nice to have some variety for that.

I would be beyond excited to see this happen!

I love having unique items, but I prefer hard to get and unique rather than unique do to the race you picked. The shear variety in the hempen sets is lovely, some wonderful basic pieces that would be so much fun to be able to use

I'm all for more options. A unique look should be a choice, not forced on us by artificial restrictions.

They give us Miqo'te the best stuff anyway :P

Oh god, please yes.... I switch between female Au'ra and female Highlander once and a while and the highlander Hempen stop is just so..... yeah I can't even describe how horrible it is. I would much prefer to be able to use the other styles available.

Please unlock them. I miss the miqo hempen camise so much

Most certainly I'd like to retain their unique look across the races. We have so little racial gear as it is, we should try to preserve what we have instead of throwing it to the wind.
If anything I'd like to see more items like this, giving a unique look across different races. This way when a new hot glamour piece is introduced half the server doesn't look like carbon copies.

The more freedom we have with our glamours the better. I say remove the restrictions.

Unlock them, this shouldn't be a question in a game with a heavy focus on appearance customization. The argument of racial uniqueness needing to be retained is one that falls flat and is completely without reason when the designs are so vastly different that they may as well not be classified as the same item set. Furthermore, the existence of exclusive gear like is a part of a flawed mindset all in all— as people speak about wanting equality in gear restrictions, glamour, and etc (looking at you male bunny suit whiners!!), but then these same people will champion the inclusion of more exclusivity and will completely undermine their own previous arguments.

Just unlock them, there's no point in this discussion even being had.

Edit: Furthermore, the argument that this would lead to people asking for the removal of the weapon restrictions is short-sighted, assumptive and downright silly. No one wants to use a Starglobe as a Paladin, or Daggers as a Monk, we just want to wear clothing like actual clothing— meaning it isn't restricted by style or race. That's all this argument; or the glamour argument, is about and trying to spin it any other way is nothing short of self centered.

Edit II: Another point is that the six races are so ingrained into Eorzean culture at this point that its a wonder that they somehow haven't shared said culture with one another. There is no feasible way that six vastly different races such as these could inhabit the same country/land and not spread their culture and fashion into the others.

Choice is always better then artificial restriction. Yeah I know everyone wants to be "unique", but in games as in real life being unique is an illusion.

Would love to have access to all hempen sets AND race sets. Equality for all! I miss wearing the cute miqo'te skirt ;_;

My answer is no, I want races to be unique. It's what makes FFXIV better than so many mmos. They have races yet they're all basically the same in lore and their place in the world.
In FFXIV races are from different regions, cities, and places. Please keep what little uniqueness they have......

I'm with Canadane, if they can give them a different look/feel then that would be great. Like I don't see how female lala could wear the highlander hempen clothing...

Throwing my hat in the ring. I'd really like to be unrestricted in clothing. Anyone saying anything about uniqueness has a moot point, because hempen is already widely used. It's already not unique.

I'm for unlocking all hempen sets for all races. I would like to wear whichever design of this I want. make the unlocked ones cotton sets or something leaving the hempen ones race specific for those people who want it(though I dont understand this way of thinking)

I would love be able to use the hempen chemise from elezen for my hyur. I like this idea

I would like to see the Hempen set styles unlocked across all character races. a competent weaver should be able to recreate all of these different styles for any given race. It should not be RSE, nor treated as such.

I would also like to see more Race Specific equipment. The hempen set is a single set that alters it's appearance base on who puts the thing on. It's nonsense to suppose that a master weaver cannot remake hempen clothes in different styles for the same race, in my opinion. However, the different cultures of the races would obviously result in culturally specific clothing and gear. So I would like to see at least one new gearset for each race added to the game, perhaps one set with each expansion. RSE is clearly specific since the pieces are separate, you don't have the same set morphing when someone else equips it.

My overall preference would be for more openness in the use of gear. In reality most variation in choice of clothing is the result of personal choice, and that includes cultural diversity and regional preferences. So to some extent player choice from the wide range of gear in FFXIV results in the same thing,

I actually like having different aesthetics for different races. Sure, sometimes you might see something that you think looks better for a race other than your own, but is it is now with most gear, I end up seeing a lot of players looking the same minus headpieces accommodating the ears.

Whenever this type of argument comes up, it seems to manly be just a "grass is always greener on the other side" situation.

There really nothing special about the hempen set so don't really see why there are people that want it kept race locked.

I'm for removing the racial restriction on the Hempen Set styles. I like having different variations based on race, but I don't think they should inherently be restricted to just that race.
