oh my bad.
here, please accept all achievements via silver platter.
Same reason I haven't been logging in, can only grind xp for so long before you realize you're grinding xp to get max level for..........................ifrit? Ya......no.
You think enough people are going to pay to play 'E-hide-and-seek' to keep this game going?
Not when there are plenty of other games out there that make you want to jump on and play everyday.
I am a crafter and, although it sounded like a good idea at first, Square needs to reverse the crafting/boss loot gear scenario right now. I can tell you there is no reason for me to kill anything at this point, my gear is now better than anything I could fight for. Then they need to release content equal to about 15 instances/raids that scale up in difficulty and some pvp that leads to pvp gear.
it's amazing that in a game where you can be any class at any time, people are bored.
How do games where you can only be one class do it?
Because these games are free and the people want desperately to believe that these boring games can be fixed because they don't want to have to go back to those other games that, while much more entertaining, are very predictable.
Sadly, FFXIV is becoming both not-free and predictable.
I too crave new and interesting content and sometimes find it a challenge to be patient. I try to remember they are reworking a lot of broken stuff as well as adding things that should have been included in the game at release.
Once they start charging money I will have to evaluate if I am having ~12 worth of fun a month.
They have content from lvl 1-end game at launch, their quests are quests. This means they have a story, 14 has no quests in comparison with any other MMO (the main story and side quests are very few). The guildleve system is what killed the game, as far as leveling up, IMO because of the fact that they are a bad grind method for xp gain and do nothing to progress the game story.
There are TONS of things to do in-game.... research!
Something i've been thinking about lately to help fuel content is the user add-ons (still far off though).
So many people keep expressing the desire for more mini-games and what not. While i still think SE should add their own to incorporate with the environment as well, but if we had the options to literally create our own mini-games and interact through the upcoming add-ons, it could really boost the game.
Then the most polished & liked/voted for add-on mini-games would eventually win out for PS3 support.
For the time being though, i think we're SOoL.
^ I agree 100%.
The ONE thing SE really excels at with the Final Fantasy series is the story. For all the amazing lore and potential this game has, it feels empty. Because they've done so little to really get you involved with the story.
The dev team seriously needs to put some real effort into implementing quests, real quests, into this game.
I get what you're saying but the bigger question is will the worldwide MMO gamer community be willing to pay ~12 PLUS invest their time playing FFXIV when there are now a lot of other choices out there.
I want that answer to be yes but, If 2.0 rolls around and square has still not made the quest lines and overall experience of moving through this game ATLEAST as epic and engaging as other MMO's out there then the funding for this game won't be there. Square knows this.
I came to this game hoping that the experience would MORE epic and engaging than anything else out there because that is what the FF series has always brought to the table. As of right now, Leve's, NPC's with ole' English walls of text (bleh), stagnant unchanging zones, extreme grinding, ect. make this game all key strokes, numbers and no soul.
Now i know its all 'wait for 2.0', but there is no guarantee that when 2.0 rolls around that the Dev's have put in a system that is more than EXP grinding and 'Tank and spank' instances followed by a few good boss fights.
It would be nice to hear how the Dev's plan to make the game Engaging. It has to be more than Class changes and pretty looking zones, but that's all they've shown so far.
Please Dev's, show us how you are going to make this game engaging, Like a great book I can't put down! Like every other Final fantasy or Chrono Trigger and Secret of the Mana. Hell even Deus Ex was engaging.
Or let us know that this game is designed for pretty graphics, soulless-grinding and 'user-generated' content. That would be fine, we could all move on and leave this game to the niche group that is already in for all that.
How do you report a thread? This is disgusting.
Just a bunch of trolls screaming FEEDME!
Close thread please.
Have you touched all of the aetheryte nodes? That'll give you something to do. I recommend taking a group of about 20 to 30 people, you'll need the raises. lol
Yep.. i had Tons of Level70+ Bombs at "Scorpions Keep" and even more Level65+ Mobs around "The Lance", which was pretty annoying since you had to pull them trough the Tunnel without Dying.. i got unlucky a couple Times and right at the End of the Tunnel i ran into a Raptor. Its not really easy for some Nodes.. but yeah.. you can actually solo it and a good amount of Def-Traits/Spells/Abilities + Quickstride etc, with a lot of patience. I have to say it was really fun to get them.
I tried to get to Mor Dhona via Camp Crimson Bark last night. Saw a bunch of level 90-99 Goblins and gave them a wide berth, just in case. Everything was fine and dandy until I came across a cluster of level 70+ Raptors loitering in front of my only path forward. I thought, I've got Stoneskin II up and my loyal chocobo, Vicious, is fast as a whip, I'll just rush through them in a blink and by the time they give chase, I'll be long gone.
3000 points of damage later, I realize the dirt has a funny taste to it and there's no place like home.
Any chance these achievements are going to be retroactive for those of us who REEEEEEALLY don't wanna do certain things over again?
At this point, we basically know next to nothing about what types of achievements to expect. I believe the most information that we have received about achievements was this:
Quote:
A: The crown is an achievement reward that will be in 1.20. The achievement system is coming in 1.20, and certain feats will earn you various rewards. Let me say, though, that it won't be that easy to get the cooler achievements.
A: First, you'll be able to enjoy and participate in the Seventh Umbral Era event. There'll be achievements related to that which won't be available later. There'll be achievement rewards, battles with the Garlean Empire, and other items that will be exclusive to that period.
We had talked about this a little bit in another thread. And I think it all boils down to what type of achievements they are going to ask us to do. "Reach level 50 on Pugilist", "Discover all 24 camps", "Complete 100 local leves", "Defeat an NM naked"?
I wouldn't mind a little dev feedback on this (hint, hint), will the 300+ achievements all be new and unique or could there be some overlap with things we've already done and get them awarded to us retroactively.
Just curious, are these achievements tied to those titles we saw in the 2.0 screenshot? They might be silly to some, but I've always liked titles in games (especially the funnier ones).
