"We are finally giving SMN their Pet glamour? Hmm... best give casters a got aweful mustard outfit this patch too then, only way to balance it out."
Seriously though, while the design of the new gear is very different it is a nice change... but what on earth (or Eorzea) were they thinking when they made the (what is presumably) caster set that ugly bright yellow?
On a scale of 1 to 10, I give them a NO.
Sorry, just not my style.
I love the new sets. They have that post-apocalyptic-operator aesthetic.
Gee..and here I was finally hoping for some Ronin Warrior armor without a dress attached to the bottom. Sorry but the new gear looks like it got stripped off a homeless gob child after he tried to stop his lunch money from getting taken. Just saying >_>;
Lalas aren't children, they're chubby potatoes. XD Though yeah, I suppose that's fair enough.

Are you my...mummy?
All I can think of when seeing that new gear is WW1&2 sapper and chemical warfare troopers.
The Bard/Machinist gear set looks fine in my opinion. It is probably the only gear set that suites the Jobs it is given to but mostly for Machinist players.
Its weird and looks very different from the current fantasy outfits that we have, I like it!
I guess that is how things are as we get closer to the Garlean Empire. The closer we get to them the less fantasy and more modern/sci-fi the outfits get due to the different advancement in technology where Eorzea focused more on Fantasy because they had magic but the Garlean Empire developed more Modern/Sci-fi due depending more on technology and lack of magic.
They look more goblin/kobold inspired than garlean to me. I like them, but the pyntie-het is ruining caster.
My mates joke that the new gears look as if players just come back from mining lol
I love the gear because it looks different. I'm loving the look I will get for my WHM glamour :).
Considering most Aiming gear has catered to the Bard aesthetic (with the neutral middle ground generally being pirate/noble-like), it's nice to get some gear that really caters to the MCH aesthetic, though (and I'm reaching with this) a lot of recent military/special ops type games have featured bows as weapons, so the idea of a Tactical Archer isn't so far fetched.
It's important to note that with things like Magitek, and looking at examples such as FF6, 7, 8, 13, and even 15, Final Fantasy games have never simply rested in the typical "sword and sorcery" type of fantasy. Even 14 has always had a certain degree of sci-fi to it with the Garleans and Allagans. So while it's certainly different, it's not so out of place. And as a MCH/WHM player, I totally welcome it!
(I like the caster robe too, albeit yellow's just not my color)
I like the healer gear
Loooove the gear ;_;
Calling it now. That amazing hairstyle is gonna be locked behind some sort of content that nobody really wants to do. I'm guessing it'll be Lord of Verminion. Or it'll be another Palace exclusive. I'm expecting that to become a trend.
And don't you worry. RNG WILL be involved because SE knows how popular THAT is.
I don't like the gear.
How can I dress my cat waifu in skimpy outfits if I can't see her pantsu?
These new gears make me want to take a long break until Stormblood.
*sigh*
must healer gear always in a shade of white?
there are other healers than WHM......
also, what's with the pointed hood of the caster one?
well... at least they have different details and not just recolored version of each others....
