Too many small cute things make me sick, too many big rough monsters are also uncomfortable to see. I'm wondering, why not put appearance customization on the way...let people stop quarreling and choose whatever they want.

Apparently, Yoshi-P has confirmed that 4.0 will not be getting a new race.

I hope they expand the current options, then, because our whole reasoning for asking for another race is because of how gutted the current selection feels.

yeah realism is important to the mmo experience which is also why we should remove all DoM jobs along with dark knight since magic isn't real... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

WHAT? Magic isnt real?

A bikini would have to be extremely magical to even be remotely effective, and honestly i dont like it as main glamour, luckely I havent seen a lot of bikini clad tanks or other characters, except in roleplay. And while a bikini clad catgirl looks good. A roe wearing a coerl tanga just hurts my eyes, yuck.

absolutely this, it's just not really a good glamour. it's lazy if you ask me, someone wants a sexy glam and just default to "as much skin as possible"

Amusingly, I've seen FAR more males in the speedos than girls in bikinis just hanging around. Unless it's the summer events, and it's the latest glamour gear, that is.

Yeah, I'd love to see this become a thing.. to some extent. I say some because the idea of a Roe/Lala hybrid sounds like the beginnings of nightmare fuel.

The only extent of Roe/Lala I can see is sharing skintones or eye types (eg. Dunesfolk eyes on Roegadyn, red/white skin on Lalafell, etc.), but not outright sharing heights and such.

sadly, to happen what we get a non-humanoid race, there could need to change 2 things

1) the dev team could need more manpower(to re-model all the existing gear to fit the diferent body of any non-humanoid race)

2) change the lore, is well know what most beast tribes are not liked, especially on uldah(no beastmen is allowed inside of uldah), any non-humanoid race could be treated as a beastmen as how it stands now the lore

so, i do not see it happening

Welp seems like we wont be getting any new races, at least in 4.0, so really do hope they add a bit more customization to our current races, do very much want more options instead of the usual new hairstyles >.<

If they add another new race in 5.0 I really hope that its more beastly. I know that the JP may like the more cute races but they already have enough of those to choose from..how about giving the other part of your player base that wants more beastly races their wish. (After that imo horrible looking pig outfit nothing can shock me much anymore) Another cute race like the female Au Ra would just mean that some people that already play such a race might change into it so in the end you mostly just exchange the numbers between the most played races anyway.

(I only play the Au Ra for its kind of demonic/dragonic look..but sadly the female is still way to cute..dont really feel like a strong and fierce WoL most of the time..)

I want to see a race that looks like the Au Ra in their original concept art first looked. The females atleast anyways. Right now female Au Ras are just a Miqote mk2. slim ver.

Muscle sliders, more color mixes (I see you, Yugiri, with your pretty cherry blossom tinted scales). Ear, face, fur or scale patterns not locked to a specific set. Maybe I want to slim that Elezen's neck down a little, or bring the head down a little bit. Maybe my character has killer long legs in role-play. Hair long enough to sit down on. (:p Yes, I'm aware of Yoshi's 'please wait for PS5.' statement.)

I think everyone is over reacting about this. If They do add this race it will be a Human body with a bunny rabbit ears and a tail. Just like Miqo'te and Au Ra Since they wont change the feet and hands so its like the race from FF12. That would mean having to redesign the gear and they wouldn't do that just for one new race.

And the problem is if they try to be more creative or your gonna get is a race that ether has the same type of a human body and maybe with more beast features eye's, ears, nose, tail and skin. Maybe something more animal looking but it will be more hybrid with a human body like what we have now.

What I'm seeing is what the East vs West wants. Furries, muscles and body fat is mostly a Western thing when the East wants kawaii uguu all day forever. See the utterly stagnant anime industry and how any deviation that isn't aiming for fujoshi bucks gets ignored. Unless the West can throw more money than Japan, Square will just give a polite nod and say "nope" in the nicest way possible.

I don't want a new race period. This is not a drastic race driven game like World of Warcraft or Aeon (RIP). Race does play a purposes in FF14, but it does not drive it like other MMORPG's. It would just be a waste of resources that can be put into other things.
