China is getting wings

I'd rather we didn't get cheap wings that look like they are from some cheap f2p mmo.

Yoshida still don't get it, what Chinese players really want, is not a CHEAP Korean mmo or WOW clone,
they've tried too many of these & got tired of it,
they want to try something new, they want to try a Final Fantasy MMO.

Just like English forum ,sometimes some Chinese FFXI players post in the forum & said how FUN, how memorable FFXI was,
they even said they just want to play a "HD version of FFXI", people saw their post & very interested
& SDO promised to their player: FFXIV will be unique, no more cash shop stuff(most Chinese players don't like cash shop too)

But as you can see, now the game is just another Korean mmo/WOW clone, with a deluxe cash shop.
Many Chinese players joined the game, disappointed, and leave

SE&Yoshida,If you want money, a lot money, you should focus on product quality ,focus on the gaming experience, make a great game.
not focus on the cash shop or some stupid wings!

Now SE is like Apple without Steve Jobs, you know what I mean

These are awful. I keep getting flashbacks of those old Ragnarok Online servers that had 30 different sets of wings that clipped horribly and made Prontera cluttered with Lv 99 auras with thirty different sets of angel or devil wings donned by people with xxx's in their names and the variants of all of those >_<.

I don't mind the idea of wings but if you can't even fly with them, why bother? One thing I notice in games that give wings is it does nothing but block your view or in some games I play (like Touch, its a dancing game) its just a major distraction and only good for showing off your luck.

I'm not sure if I want this or not.

The outfit is cool, but I hope the wings aren't locked to them.

However, I'd totally buy a set of functional wings that would take the place of flying mount when I slapped them on my character. And functional dreadwyrm style dragon wings would even be better!

The concept art looks very nice but the glamour itself looks really cheap, thanks to the game's limitations and the unwillingness to remake it once again!...

SE would do us a favor by not bringing this to the rest of the world but that would only happen if no one asks for the outfits/bardings so keep silent and hate the things instead of throwing more cash at them!...

But, since the so called "whales" exist out there please consider making everything from now on Account-wide so that at the very least it won't feel like a straight rip-off for the ones with multiple characters like myself!... :mad:

I am not fond of robes or long coats in general, but I do like the Halo and Horns

Now I want to know what the Chinese and Japanese players think of the "Glamour is the true endgame" thing. Or in other words, th eimpotance of character appearances over gameplay.

We are going to see a lot of items to purchase from China as the game over there is pay by the hour and not a monthly subscription. Because of that, they have to pay special attention to glamour items to get people to pay more than their hourly sub.

To most Chinese players, this game is like another Korean mmo/wow clone, characters are pretty,
they think the overall quality is average,
some people stay ,some people leave & go play the next "fotm" Korean mmo

To chinese FFXI players, this game is just a wow clone, game is too simple/shallow , Yoshida had gone too far, it's hopeless now,
most of them (I think 80-90%) had quit, ( SE has lost many FF/FFXI fans because FFXIV2.0/3.0)

Those wings are godawful.

Don't mind the barding but the player wings look god awful. Always hated that chunky, non tapering style.

I think they're okay..I've seen way worse.

Anyway we aren't getting them so what's it matter really :( Although I admit too, I rather have a Sophia outfit before this outfit haha.

Someone makes a thread complaining they don't want to see the New World outfit because it offends them = people mob that person because anyone should be able to wear what they want.

I thought the community was against policing what other people should or no wear.

And no matter how you try to rationalize it, if you take the dreadwyrm caster chest and move the wings a little bit higher it would be no different from this.

These are absolutely hideous and I hope we never ever get them.

Most of the Final Coil gear was bad enough for this exact reason, but at least that was fairly fitting with the game.

I actually like the wings guys :< And the barding is really nice.

Do what they did with the Far Eastern outfit: put it on the cash shop. That way only the people that want them will actually buy them. As for the argument about not wanting to see it on other characters, well... I think that has already been addressed.

This thread reads like a bunch of grumpy high schoolers. "EWWW, what is THAT?" vs. "that's not fair, I want it!"

I wouldn't be too fussed about the wings (I'd like to see them on, though) but I really like the robes, I'm a fan of the traditional-flowing-robe-mage look so it's up my street. Is this for Halloween, 3.3 (Hraes and Nid?) or just bonus stuff?

Well I can only assume that their opinions are based on whether the outfit fits the setting of the game or sticks out like a sore thumb. From what I see, the New World outfits still have all the stylings of normal FFXIV gear just with a slight Western motif with the fringes

Whereas these wings are just straight-up generic angel wings with no FF spin on them, even the FFVII wings had stylized anatomy (and the wings that appeared on Rinoa were not physical wings, they were just a manifestation of the Sorceress power unlike that fanmade picture posted earlier)

But you're never going to live down the tacky Korean MMO reputation these things have, or that they are a magnet for bad fanfiction writing and poorly made OCs.

The pig outfit sticks out like a sore thumb even more than this, and it's already in the game.

Either way we should not be policing what other people should wear, if you don't like it you can just not wear it, otherwise let's start removing subligars and disabling all and any bikini glamour in MSQ cutscenes and dungeons because it doesn't fit the game.

Honestly just sounds like your just plain against wings in general, as well as the other complaints in this thread. "F2P Wings, ugh." "So tacky!" "Keep your Koreans out of my MMO" When you realize its just cosmetics. If the item is already made then why not? No one says anything about Male miqote's in pink thongs but I guess thats ok because its sexy, then you have a lalafel named Jail Bait in swim wear, but don't worry, its just a cosmetic item. And no offense to those with OC's based on this game. But if you do have a OC, just about every Eorzean looks about the same when it comes to their races and outfits. Only difference you notice off the bat is your outfits, hence why so many mmos have flashy outfits. Cosmetics make the character.

Also to those talking about the coat looking cheap, Script gear. Looks like shet, but your wearing it aren't you? Especially that whm outfit, and don't get me started on 180 gear in PvP. If you don't want it, fine. Saying it doesn't fit in with this game or doesn't meet some sort f standard is flat-out bs.

Oh yes, and those wings look like Angeals wings from Crisis Core. Not all of them need to look like Sephiroths. Why don't you ask for those? Though as I said, alot of you are just against wings.

Not liking the way it effects the aesthetics and perception of the game is a perfectly logical reason whether you agree with it or not.

Frankly, they can keep the wings for all I care.

However, the bardings are nice and I'd like to have those brought over.

They will be in the cash shop in due time I bet anyway, so if you want it, don't fret.
